As a Senior Software Engineer at Tanium, you will take ownership of designing, developing, testing, and deploying services written in Golang using ClickHouse. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will play a key role in ensuring our services meet the highest standards of performance, security, and scalability.
What You’ll Do:
- Build a high-performance data platform capable of handling large volumes of data in real time
- Write services to manage and provision ClickHouse instances efficiently in multi-tenant cloud environments
- Write and optimize complex Clickhouse queries
- Work with various server-side technologies, persistent data stores, caches, and messaging systems
- Create automated unit tests, API tests, integration tests, and ensure quality delivery
- Author technical documentation and artifacts for the developed software
- Be on periodic on-call for triage of critical alerts from detections and systems
We’re Looking for Someone With:
Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- CS Degree or related technical field preferred
Experience
- 5+ years industry experience with analytical databases, 7+ preferred
- Software development experience in Go (preferred), Rust or Java
- Experience with cloud technologies (i.e., AWS and Azure)
- Proficiency in infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, Helm Charts, CloudFormation)
Other
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – being able to learn what the requirements are and being able to apply them
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Commitment to writing automated tests as an integral part of the development process
- Knowledge of a variety of modern backend software frameworks and the versatility to learn new tools and languages
