Job Duties:

Tubi, Inc. seeks a Software Developer (Senior Software Engineer, Growth Engineering), responsible for building back end services in the ad-tech space to help acquire users and fuel Tubi’s growth.  Specific duties include: 1) Write performant Scala code to assist the team in building up Tubi’s proprietary solution for automating user acquisition efforts at scale.  2) Write Scala code to surface data and metrics from Tubi’s proprietary solution.  3) Write SQL code as needed to transform this data into useful insights which can be used to optimize Tubi’s user acquisition campaigns.  4) Deploy software components inside Tubi’s Kubernetes-based engineering ecosystem.  5) Participate in the team’s on-call rotation and handle outages to ensure a high up time of the overall platform.  6) Initiate and participate in efforts to adjust and evolve the software architecture of Tubi’s proprietary solution for automating user acquisition efforts at scale.  7) Evaluate tools and frameworks in the Scala ecosystem which can benefit Tubi’s software architecture.  8) Participate in code and architecture reviews with the team.  Telecommuting permitted from any location in the U.S.

Job Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field, plus three (3) years of software development or related software engineering experience including building reliable production backend applications across the full software development life cycle; writing high quality code; distributed systems and functional programming; and working with cross-functional teams.

The base salary hiring range for this position is $118,000.00 - $189,700.00. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, and benefits.

This position has a minimum base salary of $170,000 and a midpoint base salary of $185,000. The base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards.

What You'll Do:

• Architect, build, evolve, and maintain the foundational frontend platform used by Level’s customers and internal teams
• Partner closely with cross functional counterparts (product, design, data etc.) to set and execute towards the vision for the team
• Build high quality applications to help launch product features and delight users
• Inform API design and implementation through knowledge of web best practices
• Provide hands-on leadership on multiple fronts (architecture/design, code reviews, quality assurance and incident management) to other engineers

Who You Are:

• 6+ years of software engineering experience
• Experienced frontend engineer who can not only architect and code solutions, but also help define a vision, and lead the team to deliver on that vision

• Owned the technical roadmap for large business areas
• Experience working with complex APIs and data models
• Experience building and using component libraries to develop customer-facing features in collaboration with product and design teams

• Hands-on technical leadership of a medium-sized (7-10) Android development team at Caper.ai focused on the core shopping experience
• Work closely with eng, product, design, and hardware to deliver complex projects with ambitious deadlines
• Drive the team’s strategy, roadmap,and technical decisions to deliver innovative production solutions on a sector-defining product 
• Up-level your team by introducing best practices for development and testing of your team’s applications
• Adapt the team’s focus in concert with evolving business needs
• Work with some of the best Android engineers who have crafted apps recognized by Google as best-in-class for design.

About You

Minimum Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in software development, with at least 4 years working on Android applications (Java, Kotlin)
• Currently managing a team of 5+ developers for at least one year
• Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment making difficult prioritization decisions
• Proactive, motivated, and self-driven.
• Experience with performance optimization on Android
• Solid expertise in Android development technologies such as Kotlin and Java
• Familiarity with distributed system design and gRPC
• Strong project management skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with development of kiosk applications/hardware products
• Experience with Point-of-Sale systems and/or Payment Terminals
• Familiarity with No-SQL databases, specifically MongoDB/Realm
