As a Sr. Staff Engineer (Infrastructure Engineering), you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure that supports our mission-critical applications and services. You will be responsible for hands-on coding, upleveling junior engineers, driving architectural decisions, and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our infrastructure. 

The infrastructure engineering team’s mission is to develop and maintain cloud infrastructure to ensure Personio runs on a platform that is reliable, scalable, and easy to operate. We measure the effectiveness of this mission through operational metrics which prompt us to proactively create and scale new infrastructure when needed, and we have a specific ownership of the availability and operation of the AWS cloud infrastructure which is the basis of our platform.

Role Responsibilities: What you'll do
  • Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor infrastructure engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of excellence. 
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to research, design, and implement robust, scalable infrastructure solutions. Work closely with Engineering teams to optimize application performance and reliability in the infrastructure.
  • Roadmap Development: Develop and maintain a roadmap for infrastructure projects and scalability requirements (10x scale).
  • Best Practices: Implement best practices for infrastructure management, monitoring, and automation to ensure high availability and reliability. 
  • Operations: Operational rigor to ensure infrastructure security and incident management.
How you’ll go about it: 
  • Proven track record of leading the architecture and design of new and existing systems with AWS.
  • Experience designing and building scalable software to handle 10x load increases and 100x peak traffic spikes.
  • Maintain open and clear communication and foster a collaborative work environment with team members, stakeholders, and management. 
  • ‘'Platform as a product" mindset with strategic thinking. 
  • Ability to navigate technical debates and drive technical alignment.
Role Requirements: What you need to succeed
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 10+ yrs of experience building and designing scalable applications, tools, or distributed systems.
  • Proven track record of technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and hiring. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language.
  • Strong expertise the following technologies: Kubernetes (k8s), ECS Fargate, RDS, Aurora, Postgres, MySQL, MariaDB, MKS (Kafka), S3, AWS Backup,  AWS DMS, Lambda, EC2, DynamoDB.
  • Familiarity with one or more of our language stacks: Terraform, CDK, Java/Kotlin (JVM, Gradle, SpringBoot), Golang, and TypeScript.
  • You will have a deep understanding and an interest in DevOps tools and technologies such as AWS (CDK, ECS, Fargate etc.), Sentry, DataDog, Docker, Gitlab CI, K8S, Flagger, Linkerd, as well as deployment automation (CI/CD pipelines, feature flags, blue/green and canary deployments)

$235,000/year to $265,000/year + equity + benefits
The national salary range listed in the job posting reflects the new hire salary range across levels and U.S. locations that would be applicable to the position. Salary Range Information

They should be comfortable and productive, working independently, partnering with a larger, highly distributed engineering team.

REQUISITE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Your skills are broad - building, deploying, and maintaining security services in an organization, and serving as the Subject Matter Expert for cloud security throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Minimum 10 years in Security, preferably in an Incident Response role or similar “first responder” role (Trust and Safety, Fraud, Account Protection, etc) 
  • AWS Experience is a MUST
  • Demonstrated experience with analysis, leading, and documenting Security Incidents 
  • Demonstrated experience with cyber security incident lifecycle acting as an incident commander
  • Demonstrated experience with common logging software (Splunk, SumoLogic, Datadog or similar) at proficient to expert level 
  • Demonstrated experience with EDR solutions (Crowdstrike, etc) at proficient to expert level 
  • Understanding of common adversarial tools and techniques and IOCs (Indicators of Compromise) 
  • Familiarity with APT groups and TTPS 
  • Demonstrated capability to follow and drive response outcomes
  • Strong ability to be calm “under fire” and drive solutions in a time-sensitive environment when under stress or urgency
  • Strong written communication skills when completing post-mortems

About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Data Platform Engineer (Snowflake Specific Data Engineer) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our Snowflake data warehouse. What you’ll do

Acquia is seeking an exceptional Senior Software Engineer, who has the ability to grow into an industry leader. You have strong experience creating RESTful APIs in PHP and Go. Experience creating Javascript applications, preferably Angular/React and TypeScript would also be helpful. You are able to take technical and business requirements and deliver tested and working code with minor direction. You are innovative, bringing your own ideas and suggestions to the project. You will work with your fellow engineers, Product, and Customer Success teams to identify inefficiencies in our current services and processes, then propose and implement changes to improve the Customer Experience 

As the Senior Software Engineer, you will…

  • Work in a highly collaborative environment with front and back-end engineers, product managers and product owners.
  • Develop performant world-class modern APIs and delightful Customer-facing UIs.
  • Design and develop performant, object-oriented applications and APIs using PHP and Go.
  • Contribute to system architecture discussions, lead projects, mentor junior team members, and deliver high quality, tested code.
  • Create automated tests.
  • Collaborate with your team members to review their work and have your work reviewed in turn.
  • Work with other teams in deciding on and developing integrations with other subsystems.
  • Work in an Agile Scrum team building shippable product increments that meet the goals set by the Product team.
  • Participate in the entire software development lifecycle including planning, development, automated test construction, deployment and operations.
  • Design and develop unit and system tests that give the team confidence to deploy to production multiple times per day.
  • Produce comprehensive software documentation for public and internal use.
  • Provide product support to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work in a team environment where your team owns and operates the services you build.
  • Develop and review user interfaces using custom Angular/React components.

What you’ll need to be successful…

  • 5-7+ years of experience with PHP(Show us your GitHub profile)
  • Have familiarity with design patterns; writing clean, maintainable code.
  • Experience with modern Javascript frameworks (Angular/React) and TypeScript.
  • Experience working in Agile and continuous delivery environments.
  • Experience in writing unit tests and system tests.Experience with modern CI/CD toolingFamiliarity with container-based application deployment using Docker or similar runtimes
  • Have hands-on experience building and operating large and complex user interfaces.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially transforming product requirements into development plans.

 

Extra credit if you…

  • Experience with Design by Contract, Domain-Driven Design and CQRS (Nice to have)
  • Experience with additional programming languages, especially Go.
  • Have experience with Drupal development, or another PHP framework such as Symfony
  • Experience with various AWS services (SQS, EC2, Lambda, CloudFormation, Kinesis, RDS and API Gateway)

Classy's Engineering team is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join our Commerce services team. This team is part of our larger core services group responsible for the design, build, and maintenance of our critical microservices and infrastructure that processes vast volumes of financial transactions measured in billions. The ideal candidate will combine good engineering expertise with product aptitude, is motivated by exciting technical challenges that come with scale, and thrives in a fast-paced, iterative, and collaborative environment. What you’ll do:

  • Be a valued member of an autonomous cross-functional agile team to continuously experiment, iterate and deliver on our technical and product roadmaps
  • Play an important role in building and maintaining a robust, fault-tolerant transactions orchestration layer (e-commerce platform)
  • Contribute to a microservice-based evolution of our platform and architecture
  • Learn and grow your skills by working collaboratively with experienced and engaged developers to design new features and re-architect existing ones.
  • Collaborate with other engineers to improve your software engineering skills using the best software development practices and processes.

What you bring (Required):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years building and maintaining highly scalable backend services in an event-driven architecture
  • Good understanding of distributed software architecture with experience debugging distributed systems with high data loads
  • Experience building RESTful APIs 
  • Experience with Javascript ES6, Node.js/Express, NestJS, or other backend technologies and languages
  • Familiarity AWS solutions (EC2, ECS, Lambda, SNS), infrastructure as code tools (terraform), and containerization (Docker)
  • Ability to understand product requirements and translate them into technical subtasks.
  • High-level proficiency in schema design in relational or NoSQL databases (MySQL, MongoDB)
  • A deep sense of quality, and sharp engineering skills with strong computer science fundamentals.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

The total annual salary for this full-time position is $143,000 - $194,000 + equity + benefits.  As this is a remote position, the salary range was determined by role, level, and possible location across the US. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
