About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Machine Learning Engineer to join our Search ML team. About You

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related fields
  • Strong programming skills in Python and fluency in data manipulation (SQL, Spark, Pandas) and machine learning (Pytorch, Tensorflow) tools
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability
  • Strong communicator who can collaborate with diverse stakeholders across all levels

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience building and deploying machine learning models in production environments
  • PhD in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or related fields
  • Previous experience working on search or recommendation systems at scale
  • Strong publication track record in top-tier AI/ML conferences
  • Familiarity with A/B testing and experimentation methodologies for search relevance improvement

As a Senior DevOps Engineer on the Data Platform team, you will lead cloud infrastructure design, automation, and management, focusing on Databricks and AWS, ensuring the platform is scalable, secure, and cost-effective. As part of an organization at the forefront of autonomous driving, we develop trajectory prediction & planning networks that enable the truck to make data-driven decisions to the scene around it. The Learned Vehicle Intent team works in partnership with Perception and Control teams to plan out the safest possible trajectory given the traffic, weather and environment around the truck. 

What you’ll do:     

Design, develop, optimize and deploy machine learning models for trajectory planning in our autonomous trucks. The Senior ML Engineer will work closely with the rest of the machine Learning teams and the Vehicle Intent Department to advance our capabilities in time-series forecasting for autonomous driving. The candidate will participate in all aspects of the software lifecycle, from defining the requirements, planning and designing the model, to implementing and testing, and finally, deployment and maintenance. 

  • Produce production deployed models and software 
  • Contribute to the research, development, and improvement of machine learning models for end-to-end prediction, and planning 
  • Collaborate with data scientists and other engineers to evaluate and improve the efficacy of these models 
  • Develop software that is robust, efficient, and maintainable, always ensuring software quality 
  • Participate in team meetings to share progress, collaborate on new ideas, and address any challenges 
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in machine learning and autonomous driving. Evaluate how these can be utilized in our system 
  • Work closely with the Vehicle Intent, Sensing and Understanding, and other autonomy teams to align on objectives and deliverables 
  • Participate in technical discussions, brainstorming sessions, and other team meetings 
  • Develop and maintain thorough documentation for all developed models and associated code 
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members 

 

What you’ll need to succeed:

You’ll be expected to use your technical expertise to advise senior business stakeholders and help to set and advance our strategic direction across multiple squads.

You’ll also be a technical leader within the Machine Learning discipline, helping to steer technical work and drive up standards.

This will involve:

  • Working with stakeholders across the organisation to identify and scope out the most impactful opportunities to tackle product challenges with Machine Learning.
  • Bringing the learnings from your previous successes in designing and building advanced Machine Learning systems to lead advancements in our product development capabilities, for example utilising deep learning, graph-based, and sequence-based architectures.
