ROSE is an award-winning digital innovation agency focused on helping leading brands leverage cutting-edge technology to innovate and delight their customers. As one of the INC 500 fastest-growing private companies and the fastest growing Black-owned digital agency in the US we pride ourselves on the quality of our work and partnerships with our clients. We specialize in immersive technology (AR/VR) and technical partnerships leveraging web, mobile and back end development.

We've used WebAR to launch a new shoe line for Adidas for over 110m viewers, rebuilt the technology powering the New York Lottery, helped Patrón bring gifting into the metaverse and did our part to rewild the world with Leonardo DiCaprio and Re:wild. In doing so, the team has won multiple Webby and Shorty awards, been featured in Vogue, WWD, and Harpers Bazaar, and more importantly, had fun doing it. Our mission is to create the most innovative digital agency of our time by guiding the world’s most impactful brands/products into the metaverse

Rose is seeking an experienced Node.js engineer. While this position is for someone who is an experienced back-end (server-side) engineer, we are looking for people who are excited about opportunities to grow their skillset.

Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility is as a senior level individual contributor on projects, coding functional solutions for our clients and internal product initiatives, using a wide range of modern server-side technologies.

  • Responsible for the implementation of business logic, data storage, user management, and other aspects of functional application development that resides on the server.

  • As developers at ROSE are inherently cross-functional, may be responsible for working further into the front-end (mobile or web View layer) or collaborating with other more front-end leaning developers to integrate user-facing elements in developing end-to-end features.

  • Must deliver high quality work as the primary contributor, including the technical design and planning out the development work of complex features.

  • Serves as a technical resource and subject matter expert during the full software development life cycle – from initial concepting and technical design through implementation.

  • Create code that can be used as a model by other engineers on the team and in the organization. Assist and educate less experienced engineers as they are growing their skillsets.

  • Actively involved in the skill development of less-skilled members of the technical team; mentors, assists and educates junior engineers.

  • Comfortable working with existing / legacy applications, systems, data, and content (read: other people’s code) in order to leverage, adapt, or replace them with modern solutions.

  • Review and approve code / pull requests written by all levels across languages and areas of responsibility.

  • Communicate technical challenges and opportunities both internally to other members of the project team as well as with clients, with an ability to explain complex technical concepts to less technically adept audiences.

  • Ability to translate feature or functional requests from clients – often high-level, abstract, or focused on intended results – into actionable work for yourself and the team to work on.

  • Helping to contribute to the roadmap of projects with clients, breaking down larger feature requests into near-term aspects that will have larger impact as well as how that feature or functionality may evolve in subsequent releases.

  • Comfortable working with external data and content sources via APIs, often based on documentation and endpoint definitions and without additional 3rd Party support.

  • Often responsible for setting up cloud environments for both development and production. Should be familiar with effective source code branching models that allow for parallel feature development, multiple pre-production instances driven off of a CI/CD setup, and working with cloud-based infrastructure (most often AWS but occasionally Azure, Google Cloud, or others based on specific client needs).

Qualifications

  • Extensive and expert-level experience with JavaScript / TypeScript, specifically Node.js experience, and including 5+ years of professional experience in software development.

  • At least 3 years working on an agile development team.

  • At least 5 years experience in designing, deploying, maintaining, and refining project architectural requirements.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, either prior digital agency or startup experience, is preferred.

  • A successful candidate must be an engineer who is a flexible team player – willing and able to adapt to the specifics of the project and client need, the experience and skills of other team members, and ultimately able to ascertain what contribution they can make to the project to best fit the given need at the time.

  • Excellent communication skills are required – we ask our Engineers at Rose Digital to be able to be active in defining and updating requirements, clarifying specifics, participate in demos, and other activities that require an ability to communicate as well as code.

  • Related, a successful candidate must be able to communicate technical information clearly and articulately to both technical and non-technical / business users, internal (Rose team) and external (clients and involved 3rd Parties), in both verbal and written form.

  • Experience working with headless content management systems (CMSs) in order to organize and deliver content and data via APIs to applications.

  • Strong working and applied knowledge of cloud infrastructure is required and specifically solid AWS experience with S3, EC2, Lambda, CloudFront, DynamoDB, Cognito, and Amplify greatly preferred.

  • Experience with CI/CD development processes including tools like CircleCI, Chef, Jenkins, Amplify, Docker, Kubernetes, etc is also preferred.

  • Experience with leading modern front-end JavaScript based technologies / frameworks (e.g. - React or similar) for full-stack candidates.

  • Must be able to take larger tasks or features and break them down into their components – identify the best solution, account for any dependencies, and come up with the approach for building the feature through implementation and QA.

  • Must have consistent delivery and timely production-quality code conforming to general coding standards and best practices as well as specific client / project requirements.

  • Expert and intuitive problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting ability.

  • Demonstrated experience creating, deploying, maintaining, and refining project technical design and architectural requirements.

  • Experience with modern version control systems including log analysis, rebasing, patching, and hooks.

Recurrency is hiring a Remote Head of Marketing

Head of Marketing at Recurrency (S20)
Automated ERP for distributors.
Remote
Full-time
About Recurrency

Recurrency is a sales, pricing, and purchasing automation platform for distributors. Despite distribution being a multi-trillion dollar industry, the legacy enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems that exist to help distributors manage their purchasing, inventory, sales, order processing, and accounting are decades behind. We look for teammates who think about the platform and products holistically, build new services and features that are reliable and maintainable. Mid Market Customer Success Manager at Arist (S20)

Workforce training via text message
Remote / Remote
Full-time
3+ years
About Arist

Backed by Y Combinator, Acadian Ventures, and Soma Capital, Arist is a text message learning platform helping Fortune 500 companies and large organizations — including DuPont, GE, and the State of California — create, deploy, and assess text message courses.

Our long-term vision is to deliver critical knowledge and training to anyone in the world, regardless of traditional learning barriers, one text message at a time.

What's a text message course?

A series of texts, images/GIFs, and interactive exercises/questions delivered over 5 to 30 days via SMS or WhatsApp. Backed by research from Stanford and Harvard, text message courses see ~10x the completion and satisfaction rates of other learning mediums.

In fact, we view text message courses as a brand-new content medium, with a variety of impactful use cases ranging from preventing misinformation to COVID-19 training in refugee camps to DEI training for startups.

Why text messages?

A majority of the world's population — including frontline employees, distributed teams, and remote audiences — has access to SMS and WhatsApp. Meanwhile, internet access is limited globally, making video courses inaccessible to over 3 billion people, including 30 million Americans.

As well, it can also take months to build a traditional workshop or video course, while text message courses can be built and deployed in a day — by one person — ensuring frictionless transfer of knowledge. Writers have to get to the point, so learners get the most valuable insights, concepts, and case studies.

The best part? 95% of people read a text within 3 minutes. As a result, we help create and deliver content employees love in a way that they will actually read and engage with. Don't take our word for it — try a text message course about text message courses here.

About the role

Arist is the first messaging-based learning platform. Inspired by our founder's work with students from war-torn Yemen and trusted by dozens of leading companies, Arist is pioneering the use of short-form messages that meet learners where they are as a more accessible and effective form of digital learning and training.

Backed by Y Combinator, Craft Ventures, Acadian Ventures, and many others, Arist is now used by 10% of the F500, helping customers create, deploy, and assess delivered all via SMS, WhatsApp, Slack and MS Teams. Over 95% of learners open a message within 3 minutes, leading to adoption rates and learning outcomes several times greater than any other digital learning tool.

Our long-term vision is to deliver critical knowledge and training to anyone in the world, regardless of traditional learning barriers, one text message at a time.

As a Mid Market CSM at Arist, you’ll help define the way we sell messaging-based learning to some of the world’s largest organizations. You’ll get to work with our top customers to help shape and optimize the way they get value out of a brand new type of training employees.

More specifically, in your day to day you’ll:

  • Own, drive, and lead the long term client success (renewals and upsell cycle) for your book of business
  • Collaborate and work in partnership with your client implementation manager and inherit accounts after they have onboarded, launched, and shown proven success within the platform
  • Actively engage with all client POC’s to ensure client delight and success on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis
  • Develop a relationship with strategic decision-makers quarterly to identify areas of growth to ensure a seamless renewals process
  • Run bi-weekly monthly, or quarterly business reviews, using data and storytelling to identify new use case areas and opportunities within the organization.
  • Discover, identity, and close upsell opportunities upon contract renewal, working cross-functionally with the sales organization

You’ll be great for this role if you:

  • Have 3-5 years of Sales / Customer Success / Account Management experience preferably within an Enterprise SaaS organization
  • Enjoy wearing many different hats and working in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment
  • Have proven success in developing relationships with multilevel POC’s within the same client
  • Can source opportunities for inside sales and work with sales teams to maximize client value
  • Understand client pain points and can work with product teams to improve our product
  • Have an obsession for client delight and leading with empathy
