Role Background

We are looking for a skilled and personable Solutions Engineer to build strong client relationships in order to build, configure and deliver technical solutions to meet individual client needs. The role combines programming expertise with a deep understanding of the insurance/insurtech space, comprising engineering, sales, and client success.

Successful candidates will join an established and growing team to meet the demands of growth, working collaboratively with Engineering, Product and Commercial teams. You will be responsible for proof of value / pilot projects that are pivotal to our growth strategy.

Please note, this is a hybrid role with 2-3 days per week based at our HQ or at client site.

  • Analysing prospective partners’ (pilot projects) and clients’ business requirements and translate them into technical solutions using our domain-specific spreadsheet-like functional programming language called Brossa.
  • Codifying, configuring and delivering formal specifications of insurance products in various lines of business (marine, aviation, political violence, etc).
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design technical solutions that align with the strategic goals of the client, and customising and configuring our technology to achieve this.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our suite of products to provide strategic guidance and recommendations.
  • Demonstrate product value to key internal and client stakeholders.
  • Build and manage platform integrations while providing ongoing technical support.

Skills, experience and qualifications

  • A deep understanding of the insurance / insurtech industry
  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally with the insurance / insurtech industry
  • Very strong foundation in functional programming

The Solutions Engineer is a creative thinker that acts as the "Liaison” between Sales, Product, Marketing and our customers by identifying and removing any potential roadblocks early in the sales process while creating detailed specifications agreed upon by both Egnyte and the client. You’ll manage customer pilots, prospect demonstrations and POCs, including hands-on installation and configuration of Egnyte and third-party products. You’ll develop deep knowledge of the Egnyte platform, competition, integrations and our customers.     


WHAT YOU’LL DO:      

  • Understand our customers’ businesses and challenge their ideas of the status quo
  • Be the technical lead in customer engagements in partnership with the sales team to gain technical fit through a consultative sales approach
  • Proactively identify and address customer's technical needs and objections to drive sales
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations and solution proposals by matching specific client business requirements into effective technical solutions, with a focus on Egnyte’s products and services
  • Maintain high level knowledge of technical strengths and weaknesses of the competitor's products and what strategy Egnyte should develop to counter
  • Maintain deep knowledge of all Egnyte products/services, competitive product lines and platform integrations through self-education and Egnyte’s enablement resources
  • Perform technical benefits assessment for customers by gaining detailed understanding of their environment
  • Lead RFI, RFP and Security Questionnaire response completions
  • Travel to customer sites, Egnyte internal meetings and trade show/conferences, if needed


YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:     

  • 3+ years of Sales Engineering experience, ideally with SaaS company with a focus on file systems, data/content management, or data security/governance technologies
  • Curiosity about technology, and passion to both learn and share with peers and customers
  • Ability to work with all levels of customer roles up to and including the CIO, CTO and CISO
  • Strong people orientation with the ability to listen, work, resolve and prioritize issues to achieve customer satisfaction, using time management
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to sell effectively in front of a mixed technical and non-technical audience
  • Ability to flexible and quickly assess the critical elements of a situation and decide and execute appropriate action
  • Strong experience with process-centric solution selling (aka consultative- or value-selling)
  • Appreciation of and experience with the entire sales cycle including pre-sales, deployment, customer success and retention is preferred


COMPENSATION:     

  • Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across multiple U.S. geographic locations, and pay varies based on defined markets. The standard base pay range for this position across the U.S. is $100k-120k annually. Pay varies by work location and may also be dependent on job-related skills, knowledge, and/or experience. The Enterprise Solution Consultant will focus on the technical sales of Nextiva’s solutions to its largest and most sophisticated prospective customers.   • Provide technical pre-sale support to sales teams to achieve assigned sales goals.

What you’ll do

The Pre-Sales Solutions Engineering organisation is responsible for the technical sale of the Cloudflare solution portfolio, ensuring maximal business value, fit-for-purpose solution design and efficient adoption roadmaps for our customers. Solution Engineering is made up of individuals from a wide range of backgrounds - from Financial Consulting to Product Management, Customer Support to Software Engineering, and we are serious about building a diverse, curious and collaborative team.

As a Solutions Engineer, you are the technical customer advocate within Cloudflare. You will aid your customers and will work closely with every team at Cloudflare, from Sales and Product to Engineering and Customer Support to do so. Your goal of customer success should drive you through the entire organisation as you seek out and create scalable solutions for your customer’s needs.

The range of products and solutions offered by Cloudflare are broad so that we are able to meet our lofty goal of helping to build a better Internet. A broad knowledge of Internet performance and security technology is required, the curiosity to maintain and develop new knowledge is essential to keeping up with the high rate of product innovation at Cloudflare.

  • 3-to-10 years of experience in the IT industry (early or mid-level experience).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with strong command of business English & Dutch, French would be considered a plus. 
  • Ability to manage a project, work to deadlines, and prioritise between competing demands.
  • Demonstrating empathy with customers and quickly identifying challenges and pain points they face. 
  • Understanding of “how the internet works”. For example:
    • Know the differences between TCP & UDP, and understand what kinds of applications may favour one over the other;
    • Can explain the difference between authoritative DNS & recursive DNS?;
    • You understand the role of a firewall, why TLS (SSL) plays an increasingly important role on today's Internet, a solid understanding of HTTP and a willingness to dive deeper into the quirks of clients & servers alike;
  • Understanding of how customers make buying decisions, how to explain ROI.
  • A knowledge of the competitive landscape for one or more of: DDoS, CDN, Performance, DNS, Developer platform or Zero-Trust/SASE service providers.
  • You're OK with some (10-15 days per quarter) travel without travel restrictions: we expect to travel to customer offices, conferences and/or do talks.

Bonus!

  • Previous experience in a pre-sales SE or consulting role. (note: doesn't have to be in tech);
  • Demonstrated experience with a scripting language (e.g. Python, JavaScript, Bash) and a desire to expand those skills;
  • Exposure to emerging technical landscape trends in Security such as Zero Trust.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree desired

The Solutions Consultant is the evolution of the traditional Sales Engineering role, aligning how we best serve our customers in understanding their environment, providing solution guidance and ensuring value realization in their investment with Palo Alto Networks.  As a Solutions Consultant you provide technical leadership and expertise and guidance in your customer’s security transformation journey.  You will play a key role in defining technical solutions that secure a customer’s key business imperatives and ensuring value realization of their investment with Palo Alto Networks.  You evangelize our industry leadership in on-prem, cloud, and security operations services that establish PANW as your customer’s cybersecurity partner of choice.

Your Experience

  • Understanding of data networking and/or modern application design and cloud architectures
  • Delivering cybersecurity solutions that solve technical challenges and influence new business initiatives
  • Influencing and gaining buy-in from key stakeholders, either in a customer-facing or internal role - prior experience in a pre-sales role is ideal

What’s the role?

  • Partner with sales representatives to identify new sales opportunities as well as incremental sales opportunities within existing accounts.
  • As part of the solution engineering team participate in proof of concept (PoC) creation and cloud architecture discussions, leading the technical solution evaluation portion in support of sales opportunities either directly or through channel partners for multiple POCs.
  • Present Dynatrace’s vision to our customers C-suite executives.
  • Provide technical guidance in the Discovery, Solution Evaluation, and Solution Proposal stages of the opportunity sales cycle.
  • Present on-stage demonstrations providing insight and context to our customers during key marketing events. Either at Dynatrace sponsored industry events or partner sponsored events, ensure key demonstrations are delivered by you or a team member at demonstration booths.
  • Gather, qualify and provide feedback from customers to Product Management to improve Dynatrace’s market share and meet the market needs.
  • Build best practices and share knowledge the team to continuously develop and enhance both your personal and team capabilities.
  • Work with local Sales and Sales Engineering leadership to identify learning/ development opportunities for you and the local team to maintain Dynatrace’s leadership position in the market.
  • Create and modify Dynatrace template presentations, in order to attend the specific demands of each customer
  • Not only work with internal sales team, but also with partners, supporting their team in the customers and being a technical point of contact for them (trusted advisor/technical coach).

The Solutions Delivery Consultant at Nextiva is highly passionate about successful customer outcomes, service and project delivery, value delivery, consulting, and deep technical knowledge in enterprise solutions architecture, systems implementation and configuration, workflows and automation, and problem-solving.

  • CCaaS Dialer experience desired (Predictive, Preview, Progressive, Power, Auto)
  • Proven experience (5 years) working in a contact center environment, focusing on API+Python and process optimization.
