We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Engineer to join our Engineering Productivity team that can challenge the status quo, thrive in an evolving and fast-paced environment to find creative, efficient and high quality solutions to complex problems. We expect you to take healthy risks as you collaborate with engineering teams across the company to empower them in developing and delivering their products with the highest quality and velocity while ensuring security throughout the lifecycle.

As a Principal Engineer on the Engineering Productivity team, you will be instrumental in elevating the innovation within the team as we champion a world-class engineering culture across the company. You will tremendously impact thousands of engineers and drive the technical vision and  initiatives in source code management, build and test tooling, end-to-end CI/CD pipeline workflows while automating everything (well, everything that matters and should be automated).

Your Impact

  • We are looking for a lead engineer with an extensive engineering background, experience using a variety of developer tools and technologies, and who is passionate about developer productivity

  • ​​The way this engineer will deliver impact may vary depending on the situation but they will be expected to deliver complete solutions to existing problems from ideation to production and effectively communicate with stakeholders

  • Set the example for high levels of accountability

  • Execute and deliver impact both individually and through the team

  • Tool Management and Optimization:

    • Plan, deploy, and manage GitLab, Vault, and Artifactory across different environments.

    • Ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of these tools in FedRamp and China operational contexts.

  • CI/CD Pipeline Development:

    • Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive CI/CD templates for use across various engineering teams.

    • Provide support and best practices for the adoption and customization of CI/CD templates.

  • AI Infrastructure Management:

    • Oversee the development and maintenance of AI infrastructure.

    • Implement AI tools and frameworks to enhance developer productivity and coding efficiency through tools like AI Code Review.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including security, compliance, and development, to ensure alignment and integration of engineering productivity tools.

    • Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical expertise, and deliver scalable solutions.

  • Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

    • Monitor the performance and health of the engineering productivity tools.

    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly to minimize downtime and impact on developer productivity.

  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities for automating repetitive tasks, improving workflows, and enhancing overall developer productivity.

    • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to implement innovative solutions.

Qualifications

Your Qualifications

As a leader on this team, we are looking for someone who cares deeply about the technical development of other engineers on the team and is able to effectively balance the needs and priorities of the business, our users, and the growth of our engineers

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) and config mgmt tools like Terraform and ansible

  • Experience writing Go, Python, or other language at production scale

  • Understanding of Unix/Linux, SSH, and networking fundamentals

  • Experience owning or contributing to Open Source projects

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or related fields.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS and Azure).

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana).

Good to have 

  • Hands-on experience with GitLab, Vault, and Artifactory in complex environments.

  • Previous experience in a cybersecurity or high-tech environment.

Project Overview:
The IYBA-SEED program, part of the EU’s Investing in Young Businesses in Africa initiative, supports the growth of youth- and women-led businesses in early development stages. MSMEs are vital for Africa’s economic development, yet they face significant barriers in accessing formal credit. This study focuses on alternative finance mechanisms (e.g., microfinance, mobile money, peer-to-peer lending) and the regulatory and policy frameworks needed to enable these mechanisms to thrive, fostering financial inclusion and business growth.

Purpose of the Assignment:
The selected consultant or firm will analyze the landscape of alternative finance models in IYBA-SEED countries, identify regulatory gaps and opportunities, and propose tailored policy recommendations to strengthen the ecosystem for youth- and women-led businesses. The deliverables include:

  • A landscape analysis of existing alternative finance mechanisms.
  • Gap and opportunity identification reports.
  • Policy condition analysis with strategic recommendations.
  • Development of an assessment tool for evaluating policy and regulatory conditions.

Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in alternative finance mechanisms for MSMEs.

As a Sr. Hardware Standards Engineer you will be a member of the team that is responsible for global hardware design, standards, and architecture.

  • Develop server, storage, and full-rack hardware standards that govern deployments to ServiceNow datacenters worldwide.
  • Build and maintain server, storage, cloud service provider, and rack SKU documentation.

  • Critical attention to detail is a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive complex problems to resolution.
  • Some travel required for first article inspections, trade shows, etc.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Information Systems (CIS), Management Information Systems (MIS), or Computer Science (CS) or related field.

The Team 

This role will be a part of the Security Engineering Org that reports to the Senior Manager of Public Cloud Security Engineering. The security engineering team targets building state-of-the-art technology that will help reduce the risk surrounding the sensitive assets of the company with the least impact possible on operations, acts as guidance and facilitator to the security operations teams and helps shifting Security perception from blocker to enabler by building a relationship of trust with the other teams.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have: 

  • MUST HAVE 8+ years of Security Engineering is required 

  • MUST HAVE 5+ Years working in the Public Cloud (GCP, AWS or Azure)

    • Compute, network, storage, content delivery, administration and security, deployment and management, automation technologies 

    • Preference is GCP, but OK if you have 2 of the 3 

    • Experience in infrastructure automation tools like AWS CloudFormation, Ansible, Terraform and equivalents. 

  • MUST BE PROFICIANT In Python

    • REGO is a nice to have 

  • Experience with containerization on Cloud, AKS or EKS (Dedicated/Managed/Serverless Kubernetes). 

  • Experience implementing cloud native security tools like AWS Guard Duty or Azure Security Center.  

  • Experience implementing Cloud Security Posture Management toolset. 

  • Apply adept understanding and experience with systems automation platforms and technologies 

  • Execute security architectures for cloud/hybrid systems 

  • Automate security controls, data and processes to provide improved metrics and operational support 

  • Build dynamic dashboards to track metrics 

  • Employ cloud-based APIs when suitable to write network/system level tools for safeguarding cloud environments
