As a Technical Writer, your writing will help explain static analysis and DeepSource to developers across the world and also enables our customers to use our products optimally.

 

As a Technical Writer, you will,

  • Work with Developer Relations and Marketing teams to create technical content in the form of articles, documentation, blogposts, videos, etc.
  • Work with our Marketing team to ensure a cohesive voice, style, and consistency of approach in our technical writings.
  • Make assessments on documentation needs and maintain it with up to date information.
  • Contribute to documentation efforts for assigned products in-line with the overall content strategy.
  • Work with our engineering team to understand changes and new features as they are released to identify any changes needed to keep the documentation up-to-date.
  • Assist with writing code samples and building developer tutorials.

We're looking for someone who has,

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in technical writing.
  • Demonstrable work communicating complex technical concepts in concise, well-organized writing.
  • Broad understanding of software development tools and practices.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning new programming languages and technologies.
Technology

Our front-end web servers are written in Python (Django) and analysis orchestration systems are written in Go. We use Kubernetes for scheduling and analysis orchestration. We have the following teams: Platform, Analyzer, Infrastructure. Our analyzer team works primarily on adding new issues, optimizing existing issues to reduce false positives on all of our analyzers.

Job Description

As a member of Cash Cloud Platform’s team, you’ll collaborate with our stakeholders - including Engineering Managers, Product Managers and Software engineers - to:

  • Maintain and continuously improve platform documentation content in collaboration with engineers, product managers, and others.
  • Review and edit content for all new and enhanced features.
  • Produce content for using Cash Cloud Platform features, FAQs, including contextual content that clarifies why and when a user might use a feature or workflow.
  • Help Cash Engineers who have documentation-related questions.
  • Identify and address content gaps or the need for additional media such as diagrams or videos.
  • Participate in reviews and revamps of section or page content and structure.
  • Help review and triage incoming suggestions, corrections, and other content from the Cash Engineering organization.
  • Help create and enforce standardization on naming conventions, terminology, and  UI text, such as field labels and error messages, in our product.
  • Improve the documentation site features and user experience in collaboration with engineers and UX Designers. These efforts might include the documentation site’s design, search, build process, feedback methods, SEO, visitor analytics, versioning, and other technical components.
  • Contribute to the improvement of team process and style, as well as cross-functional efforts.
  • Plan and complete large content initiatives, such as section reviews and revamps.

Qualifications

You have:

  • Experience writing, editing, researching, and planning software documentation.
  • Excellent skills in grammar, minimalist documentation design, and effective information architecture.
  • Great teaching skills that translate into amazing written work.
  • Experience using the Linux shell, command-line Git, HTML/CSS, and/or at least one programming language (does not have to be in a professional context).
  • Experience producing documentation for a variety of products and services.
  • Some experience planning and leading major initiatives, such as the launch of new documentation resources, large-scale documentation reviews and revamps, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience with static site generators, managing docs as code, and the nuances of differing markup standards and rendering engines.
  • Ability to thrive in an environment where self-learning and self-service is encouraged and instilled as a part of our culture.

Experience with some of the following:

  • Using or documenting DevOps tools
  • Software development or other technical experience
  • Using Cloud Platforms (eg: AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • A rapidly scaling start-up environment
  • Distributed work; especially in collaboration with others across countries and time zones

Responsibilities

  • Write and review manuals and process flow diagrams of business processes.
  • Assist in the revision and/or creation of documentation, ensuring all business processes are documented in the same format/structure, presented in an easily digestible format and are readily available to all users.
  • Work closely with all the teams in defining the content of System Manuals, User Guides, and other technical documents.
  • Conduct end-user testing of documentation/flow diagrams to ensure information is fit for purpose.
  • Create documents/manualsin line with the branding and documentation guidelines.
  • Partner with other teams and departments, content writers, and stakeholders. 
  • Partner with the training development team to create training requirements and materials.
  • Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely with various departments to meet project requirements.

Qualifications

  • 5 plus years of relevant experience as a Technical/Process Writer, including the preparation of instructional manuals. 
  • BA/BS degree in related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Must haveexperience writing procedures such as Desk Level Procedures or SOPs.
  • Experience with Slack, Google Docs and GSuite preferred.
  • Must be able to depict business processes from process maps/flowcharts and thereby inherit information to construct desktop procedures.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and following procedures/protocols.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as an inquisitive mind that guides the user to answer specific questions.

  • Collaborates with SMEs to develop compliant, compelling proposals in response to Federal Government solicitations.
  • Writes and leads technical, management, resume, and/or past performance volumes.
  • Works as part of a collaborative team to clearly articulate solution and strategy, approach to performing the work, experience, win themes, and discriminators.
  • Applies communication and interviewing skills to gather needed information from internal and external personnel to support writing activities.
  • Writes clear, persuasive, and articulate proposal sections; translates complex ideas into easily understandable text.
  • Support the project team in developing executive-level briefings and presentations.
  • Conduct research and ensure that all RFP instructions are carefully met in all documents and is of high quality and compliant with proposal criteria and guidelines.
  • Gathers proposal information by identifying sources of information; collects and communicates risks associated with proposals.
  • Keep a consistent style and writing standards, ensure technical accuracy, and devotion to documentation standards under tight deadlines.
  • Must strive to develop new and refine existing technical writing processes to enhance quality and productivity.
  • Develops and implements process improvements to help improve proposal quality Qualifications.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong technical writing, editing, and verbal communication skills and analysis of artifacts and RFP/RFI responses 
  • Experience with GWAC, IDIQ, self-scoring procurements
  • Experience with the Federal government IT services procurement cycle
  • Prior experience working with SMEs to develop compelling proposal content on a range of IT services/solutions (application development, cloud services, operations and maintenance
  • Ability to clearly articulate technology concepts to technical as well as non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills; attention to detail, and follow-through
  • Maintain a strong work ethic and willingness to collaborate on a team is required
  • Ability to work in a time-sensitive environment and meet all deadlines
  • Self-starter; works effectively and productively with limited supervision
  • Experienced with MS Office products such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and others

Nice to Have Skills

  • Both Civilian and DOD contracting experience preferred
  • Trained in industry standards for proposal management such as Shipley

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in Federal Proposal management, IT proposal writing, editing and color review

Job Description

ANALYGENCE is hiring a Technical Writer to join our team supporting DHS CISA Integrated Operations Division (IOD). CISA's mission is to lead the national effort to protect and enhance the resilience of the nation’s physical and cyber infrastructure. The Technical Writer must have expert writing skills that focus on making their documentation concise, focused, easy to understand, free of errors, and audience based. 

  • Drive the creation of documentation methodology and framework, and maintain consistency and efficiency conducting research as required, to include benchmarking best practices at other agencies, and document recommendations.
  • Write, edit, and publish strategy, doctrine, policy directives, operational plans, SOPs (including metrics and measures), and checklists, including improvements to documentation and writing processes and standards, and produce reports, briefings, talking points or other products in support of IOD/subdivisions as required.
  • Apply knowledge of effective writing principles and practices executing day-to-day functional activities applying IOD/subdivision processes, procedures, work instructions, and checklists, to develop and refine the IOD Suite of Plans (both steady-state and contingency plans) in accordance with the CISA style guide, CISA Knowledge Management processes, and the CISA/SPP Policy and Governance Frameworks.

Qualifications

  • Must have current Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least 7 years of mid-level experience writing with a civilian government agency or military service, including training and exercise planning process/workflows and development and publication of training and exercise documentation.
  • Understanding of the guiding principles of exercise and evaluation programs, as well as common approaches to exercise program management, design, development, conduct, evaluation, and improvement planning.
  • Ability to manage competing tasks.
  • Easily works within and across teams.
  • Familiar working with technical professionals and other SMEs.
