Job Summary

The HR Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. The HR Manager will also oversee the implementation of HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment and Staffing:Oversee the recruitment and selection process, including developing job descriptions and compensation ranges, posting job openings, conducting interviews, advising hiring decisions, initiating background checks, and onboarding employees to our PEO Insperity.
  • Employee Onboarding: Develop and implement an effective onboarding program to ensure new employees have a smooth transition into the company. This includes preparing onboarding materials, coordinating orientation sessions, and facilitating initial training.
  • Employee Offboarding:Manage the offboarding process for departing employees, including conducting exit interviews, ensuring the return of company property, and processing termination paperwork. Ensure that departing employees leave the company on good terms and that feedback is captured to improve retention.
  • Employee Relations:Address employee concerns and grievances, and mediate workplace conflicts. Promote a positive workplace culture and foster a safe and productive work environment.
  • Performance Management:Develop and implement performance management systems to ensure employees’ performance aligns with company goals and objectives. Provide guidance and support to managers on performance reviews and employee development.
  • Compliance:Ensure compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including workers comp insurance, payroll taxes, and non-discrimination testing. Keep abreast of changes in employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Compensation and Benefits:Administer employee compensation, 401k, and benefits programs with our PEO Insperity, including managing salary structures, conducting salary surveys, job evaluations, and ensuring competitive and fair compensation practices.
  • HR Policies and Procedures:Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures, including the employee handbook. Ensure all HR activities are consistent with the company’s policies and procedures.
  • HR Systems and Reporting:Manage PEO Insperity and maintain HR records, including all employee and compliance documentation. Generate reports and provide data-driven insights to support business decisions.
  • Culture & Team Building:Plan and coordinate two company offsites each year. Implement a schedule of team-building activities to drive employee engagement and satisfaction in a remote environment.
  • Training and Development:Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and career development. Coordinate and facilitate training sessions to ensure continuous improvement and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Education:Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 years of HR management experience, preferably in a SaaS or technology environment.
  • Certification:Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification preferred.
  • Knowledge:In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices. Familiarity with HR software and databases.

    • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.

    We will rely on you to:

    Manage, with minimal guidance, multiple NetSuite support and software engagements across a wide variety of verticals while simultaneously building client relationships and developing business opportunities for the SquareWorks professional services team. Specific duties include:

    Prepare for and run recurring and ad-hoc client meetings and maintain ongoing relationship building activities to ensure client satisfaction and loyalty.

    Manage and resolve, via direct implementation of solutions, a wide variety of daily NetSuite support requests. Types of requests handled will include, but will not be limited to:

    • Troubleshooting of core NetSuite transactions/transactional flows (Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, etc.).
    • Troubleshooting of existing workflows.
    • Implementation of simple new functionality; scoping for deployment of more complex functionality.
    • Assistance with compliance and audit questions.
    • Creation of new reports and searches, including financial reports.
    • Modification of existing reports and searches, including financial reports.
    • Creation of new roles/modification of existing roles.
    • Execution of basic system administration tasks, such as creation of a new employee record or reset of a user’s password.

    Document support tickets and related resolutions clearly, consistently, and with sufficient detail to meet compliance and controls requirements.

    Assist clients in preparing for bi-annual NetSuite upgrades, including compilation of an associated impact assessment and regression testing scripts.

    Provide basic training to clients as needed regarding standard NetSuite functionality. Compile associated written materials (such as end-user guides) as necessary.

    Independently execute implementation of SquareWorks’s various software bundles and provide ongoing software support. Includes running related client-facing meetings, compiling associated client-facing documentation, and performing basic project management tasks.

    We ask that you:

    • Have impeccable written and oral communication skills.

    • Have at least moderate exposure to core NetSuite functionality.
    • Have at least two years of consulting or business analyst experience.
    • Have a keen desire to expand your understanding of NetSuite and of business systems in general.

    • Be able to handle competing priorities effectively and with limited guidance.

    Qualifications:

    • Must have a strong understanding of general business principals. Minimum of 3 years of business experience required, preferably in software, biotech, or wholesale distribution.
    • Must be familiar with, and interested in, business systems. Exposure to multiple business system platforms and associated integrations required.
    • Must be familiar with basic accounting principles and terminology.
    • Must be familiar with core NetSuite functionality. Formal NetSuite system administration/consulting experience a plus.
    • Familiarity with compliance and audit-related topics a plus.

    Purpose 

    The Software Engineer contributes to the success of SquareWorks by participating in the full software development lifecycle from concept and planning to delivery and deployment. This role will support the SquareWorks team in troubleshooting and resolving customer support issues as they arise. In addition, each SquareWorks team member has a responsibility to support the company’s mission through understanding and living SquareWorks’ corporate values. 

    Essential Job Functions

    • Implements and maintains code for product features
    • Writing clean code and unit tests to support any source code changes, performing code reviews, and related activities that contribute to development and maintenance
    • Understand and apply software engineering best practices while modifying/enhancing our software platform and in code reviews
    • Attend and contribute to design review meetings
    • Offering input into the designs of product enhancements and third-party integrations and documenting designs
    • Working closely with other engineers and product managers throughout the SDLC
    • Being responsible for the design and implementation of new product features and enhancements with guidance and input from other team members
    • Writing unit tests to support any source code changes, performing code reviews, and related activities that contribute to development and maintenance.
    • Constructively engage with team members and management through open and active communication channels when problem solving and developing solutions, recommending changes in policies, procedures, and tooling.
    • Produce specifications as needed to determine operational feasibility and convey ROI projections of proposed solutions
    • Writes well designed, testable, efficient code that is easy to learn from
    • Effectively estimate time requirements for deliverables
    • Anticipate potential blockers and plans accordingly

    Skills and Eligibility Requirements

    • 4 or more years of experience in a software engineering/development role 
    • Experience in an Agile software development environment 
    • Desire to ship high quality software at great velocity 
    • Thorough understanding of topics discussed in the influential works and authors describing the pillars of software engineering (e.g. content covered in Code Complete, Design Patterns, Clean Code, Refactoring, The Pragmatic Programmer, etc.) 
    • Expertise in one or more of the following technologies:  
    • Modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React, Vue, Angular, etc.) 
    • Server-side languages such as TypeScript/JavaScript, PHP, C#, Java, etc. 
    • Relational databases 
    • AWS  
    • NodeJS  
    • Git  
    • NoSQL 
    • RESTful APIs  
    • Strong experience with creating and maintaining automated unit tests and integration tests in a test-driven development environment
