Compensation and Benefits

This role will receive a competitive salary, benefits, and equity. The salary for US-based employees hired into this role will be aligned with the range below, which includes our three geographic areas. A variety of factors are considered when determining someone’s compensation–including a candidate’s professional background, experience, location, and performance.This position is eligible for new hire and ongoing grants of restricted stock units depending on employee and company performance. $157,800$232,000 USD

The role

Our focus centers on streamlining the development, building, testing, integration, packaging, and deployment of our microservice-based products. We are looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer to join our team and help us maintain and scale our infrastructure to offer our users an even greater experience. An ideal candidate would be a passionate engineer who loves Linux, who feels more comfortable in the shell rather than in an IDE, who is intimately familiar with cloud infrastructure and VMWare virtualization, has a strong networking background, is comfortable in a polyglot environment, who thrives in true-agile, fast-paced, production facing environments and loves hardware. This team member may not have all the answers but knows how to find them.

What you will do…

  • Help us define the future of our artifact and container-based deployment strategies.
  • Evolve and support our immutable deployment platform.
  • Contribute to the design of high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems, ensuring high availability and performance, while collaborating closely with development teams.
  • Design and implement on-premise and cloud infrastructure solutions on platforms such as VMWare, AWS, Azure.
  • Maintain and upgrade our on-premise data center infrastructure.
  • Develop and deploy Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Ansible and Terraform.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system performance, network connectivity, and security.
  • Perform system upgrades, patch management, and security hardening.
  • Become part of a continuously evolving environment.
  • Optimize cloud infrastructure for cost, performance, and scalability.
  • Monitor the performance, availability, and security of our on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Become part of development on tools for automating deployments, unify platform metrics, reporting and monitoring.


  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Expertise in VMWare vCenter, clustering, and virtualization technologies.
  • Experience with managing bare metal servers, storage, and SAN networks.
  • Linux experience -- knowledge of Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
  • Exposure to container technology (e.g. Docker), container orchestration systems (e.g Kubernetes), container-focused Linux distributions, and virtualization in the cloud.
  • Cloud experience -- designing and building tools and infrastructure for cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure).
  • Moderate exposure to tools -- Ansible, Terraform, Helm, Jenkins, Gitlab, Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki amongst others.
  • Operational experience -- comfortable supporting other departments, optimizing deployments for availability and uptime, and going deep on troubleshooting and remediation.
  • Programming experience -- Bash, Python, amongst others (both reading and writing).
  • Knowledge of Relational Databases (e.g. Postgres), and NoSQL DBs/systems (e.g. Redis, ElasticSearch).
  • Great communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies.

As Sr. Program Manager, you’ll manage the overall delivery of program to the DoD customer for the development and maintenance of innovative semantic Search solutions.  Overall responsibility for program delivery, profit and loss, and customer satisfaction scores.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage 19-person DoD program focused on the development and maintenance of innovative semantic Search solutions.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 7-10 years of program management experience, or a Masters Degree plus 5 years of program management experience.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a SCI
  • Possess a minimum of ten years of Project Management experience managing complex projects in an IT engineering or big data environment.
  • Possess a minimum of an active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility
  • Possess a minimum of five years of experience managing projects utilizing non-traditional program management methodologies (e.g., Agile) in big data, AI/MLOps, and DevSecOps environments.
  • Possess a minimum of five years of experience in a military or other Government environment performing in a related subject area (e.g., project management, engineering, or computer science).
  • Ability to track and report aggregated personnel utilization and budget usage across the Search portfolio.
  • Strong communications skills: Ability to proactively engage fellow CDAO members within and beyond the team as well as DoD cross-organizational communications.
  • Possess an active certification in one of the following:  Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional, PMI Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification, or equivalent program or project management certification.

What you’ll do:

  • Documents requirements and specifications and reviews documentation provided by other teams and vendors.
  • Works with mission teams to engage with potential customers within the DOD and identifies and evaluates prospective projects.
  • Synthesize requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and facilitate engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 5-7 years of Scrum Master experience, or a Masters Degree with 3 years of scrum master experience.
  • Active Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a SCI
  • Provide subject matter expertise to support agile development using methodologies based on iterative development, requirements and solutions
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to synthesize requirements underlying feature requests, decompose them into user stories and group them into logically consistent epics.
  • Ability to track and report team utilization and velocity.
  • Strong communications skills: you will be required to proactively engage fellow CDAO members and DoD cross-organizational colleagues both inside and outside of your team.
