The Endpoint Engineering team assists companies by supporting their environments day to day and recommending best practises to follow and implement. You will problem-solve technical issues for customers to show how these products can make businesses more productive, collaborative, and innovative.

As a SOE Engineer you will manage the day-to-day operations of the Customers endpoint systems with minimal direction and engage in project work when they arise. You will have a key focus on ensuring an exceptional customer experience to Datacom’s endpoint customer base.

We place a high degree of focus on developing our staff internally and offer financial incentives for engineers that certify in the technologies we use to support our customers.


This role is open in all our Datacom offices in Australia (Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, and Sydney).

Please note to be successful in this role you would need to be an AU Citizen and able to obtain a baseline clearance.

What you will do

At the moment, as SOE Engineer you will be focused on:

  • Maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements of environment wide configurations including user policies, device policies, security policies, firmware, drivers, and automation scripts through enterprise grade endpoint management platforms (Intune/SCCM)
  • Ensure outstanding levels of customer satisfaction by demonstrating timely, professional, and attentive responses to customers and colleagues
  • Operate in, and contribute to the winning culture of a high performing team
  • Identify service improvements, efficiencies and/or cost reductions for Datacom customers
  • Follow best practice methodologies and adhere to recognised ITIL processes (e.g., change/release).
  • Perform upgrades on applicable hardware and operating systems as required/requested
  • Provide maintenance and enhancements of deployed desktop operating system images (physical and virtual)
  • Provide continuous high-quality upkeep of supporting documentation such as Designs, As-Builts, How-tos, environment reporting, risk registers, tickets, and roadmap lifecycles
  • Assist with projects as required
  • Occasional travel to Datacom, customer sites and conferences when required.


What you will bring

Required experience:

  • Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager including SCCM and Intune
  • Strong technical knowledge of Active Directory – Group Policy Management
  • Strong technical knowledge of Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and W365
  • Strong Scripting ability (PowerShell, VBScript, Batch)
  • Experience with Windows 10 task sequencing and end point configuration
  • Exceptional knowledge of Windows 10 and 11
  • Experience with facilitating large and enterprise scale software deployments
  • Extensive experience in SOE migrations, projects, and implementation

Nice to have:

  • Experience in Citrix Image Management

What You’ll Do

· Load variations, sales orders, purchase orders, invoices, claims and other artefacts into Datacom’s ERP, our partner company portals and PSA toolset.

· Load deliverables and artifacts onto partner toolsAsign funding through tagging to client accounts

· Maintain records to validate completion of claims and provide regular reports on project spending and budget status.

· Collaborate with Datacom Partner Account managers and team members to ensure that financial processes and execution policies are understood and adhered to.

· Monitor project spending/WIP to ensure alignment with the got o market plan and ensure that invoices are processed in a timely and accurate manner.

· Exhibit strong technical writing skills and create user guides, training materials, and documentation.

· Provide support for audits and financial reviews, including preparation of documentation and review of findings.

What You’ll Bring

You will be a professional person who has great communication skills - both written and verbal.. We are looking for:

· Someone who is passionate, with great interpersonal skills and strong attention to detail.
