You will drive business and client impact by focusing on short term goals and strategic milestones for the future. You will work with other engineers to grow their skills alongside your own, and collaborate with close stakeholders from other disciplines such as Product and Design.

We cannot succeed without creative engineers. Your cross-functional team will propose and build solutions to move the state of the art of Stitch Fix mobile technology forward.

You’re excited about this opportunity because...

  • We work collaboratively as a distributed team—we are a primarily remote team and we use GitHub, Slack, and video conferencing extensively to collaborate.
  • You will have the opportunity to participate in creating prototypes and exploring alternative designs—we value pull requests, one-pagers, and screencasts to develop rapid prototypes that demonstrate new features.
  • Our workflow depends on testing and CI—we take testing and test automation seriously in order to build software we can rely on, and use CircleCI to bring it all together.
  • We have a distributed, service-oriented architecture—we’re using tools like GraphQL, RabbitMQ, Kafka, ElasticSearch, and headless HTTP services to scale our team and software.

We use these tools and techniques to help us get the job done and we’re excited to share our expertise with new members of the team. You will have the opportunity to help us continue to adopt effective practices and technologies and explore their full potential.

We are excited about you because...

Our technology teams have created unique, innovative software for customers, merchandising, styling, warehouse systems, and inventory management. We leverage customer data and user research to personalize our service and make smart bets. The result is a powerful offering to our customers and a successful business serving millions of men, women, and kids.

The Application Platform team is responsible for developing internal tools, applications, and libraries used to support projects across Stitch Fix technology. We are looking for a Fullstack Software Engineer who will work within a distributed team of 3-4 software engineers and cross-functional partners across the tech organization. You are expected to have strong written communication skills and be able to develop strong working relationships with coworkers and business partners. Writing developer documentation is important in this role. This is a remote position available within the United States. We operate in an agile-inspired manner, collaborating across multiple time zones. We build modern software with techniques like TDD, continuous delivery, DevOps, and service-oriented architecture. You will have the opportunity to develop your non-technical skills by presenting your work to the team and partners, leading projects on your team, and influencing the roadmap of your team. You’ll participate in an on-call rotation for code that your team owns.

YOU’RE EXCITED ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY BECAUSE YOU WILL…

  • Work collaboratively on a distributed team—we are a remote-first team and use GitHub, Slack, and video conferencing extensively to collaborate
  • Help design, develop, and continue to grow the foundations of how the technology ecosystem works at Stitch Fix
  • Have an impact on development spanning the entire organization; our clients are other developers and the tools we build are used in almost all of Stitch Fix applications by almost all Stitch Fix developers
  • Collaborate with stakeholders while leading the technical discovery, decision-making, and execution of projects within the team
  • Operate as an engaged member of the engineering team by participating in design review, project planning, implementation, and team ceremonies
  • Share the responsibility of directing the team’s investment in impactful directions
  • Contribute to a culture of technical collaboration and scalable, resilient systems
  • Model consistently sustainable results against measurable goals
  • Work individually with mentorship, and have pairing opportunities, timely feedback, and code reviews to grow your programming craft
  • Actively invest in the professional development and career growth of your teammates and peers
  • Participate in a positive, constructive engineering culture with bright, kind colleagues

WE’RE EXCITED ABOUT YOU BECAUSE YOU...

  • Have 2+ years of experience as a software engineer.
  • Have hands-on experience with developing Ruby on Rails applications. Experience with writing Ruby libraries is a plus
  • Are excited about solving challenging system design problems and have excellent analytical skills
  • Enjoy building reusable code that balances convention and configuration
  • Are respectful, empathetic, and humble. You are not afraid to ask questions
  • Recognize that writing good code is just as important as strong communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Proactively communicate status updates or changes to the scope or timeline of projects to stakeholders and leadership
  • Are motivated by solving problems and finding creative solutions while being pragmatic about balancing scope and cost

OUR TECH STACK INCLUDES…

Technologies we rely on to pursue solutions to business problems include:

  • Ruby and Rails
  • Golang
  • JavaScript, TypeScript, React
  • SQL, GraphQL
  • Postgres, Kafka
  • AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, S3, and many more
  • Terraform

Experience with Ruby is a must, and exposure to any others of these is a bonus. Our primary focus is hiring an engineer with a passion for solving problems first and foremost.

YOU'LL LOVE WORKING AT STITCH FIX BECAUSE...

  • We are a group of bright, kind people who are motivated by challenge. We value integrity, innovation and trust. You’ll bring these characteristics to life in everything you do at Stitch Fix.
  • We cultivate a community of diverse perspectives— all voices are heard and valued.
  • We are an innovative company and leverage our strengths in fashion and tech to disrupt the future of retail.
  • We win as a team, commit to our work, and celebrate grit together because we value strong relationships.
  • We boldly create the future while keeping equity and sustainability at the center of all that we do.
  • We are the owners of our work and are energized by solving problems through a growth mindset lens. We think broadly and creatively through every situation to create meaningful impact.
  • We offer comprehensive compensation packages and inclusive health and wellness benefits.

Lumos Identity is hiring a Remote Fullstack Engineer

In 2011, Mark Andreessen famously said, “Software is eating the world.” 10+ years later, software hasn’t just nibbled, it has indulged in a lavish ten-course feast at a Michelin star restaurant. From Slack to Zoom to Figma, software is embedded in every company’s DNA. And while most just get to enjoy the benefits, there is one unsung hero behind it all: ????‍♀️ IT ????‍♀️

While being flooded with never ending IT tickets, they are also making sure Guy Fieri in Sales doesn’t buy yet another tool “promising” a 103% lead conversion rate. And burying themselves in spreadsheets to prepare the SOC2 report for when Gordon Ramsey from the Big 4 comes knocking. And can’t forget about Julia Child, the newest on-call engineer, who needs access to prod DB to investigate an incident. All of these workstreams are among spreadsheets, emails, Slack messages, and Zoom calls. But those days are numbered.

✨ Let there be Lumos

Lumos is building the first AppHQ for companies. In essence, we are creating the meta app, the source-of-truth for companies to manage all their apps.

Why Lumos?

  • ???? Rocketship Growth: In less than two years, our team has grown from 20 to ~80 brilliant minds across Canada, the United States and South America. Our customer base has more than 10x’d with some pretty incredible names like SiriusXM, GitHub, and Intercom.
  • ???? Backed by Industry Leaders: Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) has backed us since the beginning. We have a team of trusted advisors including Joel De La Garza (partner at a16z and previous Chief Security Officer at Box) and Leland Maschmeyer (the design thinker behind Spotify and Microsoft)
  • ⭐ Grow with us: You have the chance to be one of the first 100 people at Lumos. At Lumos, you will build your function from the ground up, get exposure to different aspects of the business developing a diverse skill set, and most importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to pave your own path.

We are rewriting the IT playbook, one that better reflects our software eaten world.

We’re seeing very strong adoption with core products, and in order to double down our investment and support accelerating growth, we’re hiring a Fullstack Engineer to join the team. You'd be among the first 100 employees and set the foundation for extreme growth. ????

You'll build and own core product features, in addition to helping to ensure the health of our engineering systems. You will work across the stack, focusing on areas you are most excited about and that bring value to customers. Beyond your technical work, you will gain leadership opportunities early on as we grow our engineering team. You'll be involved in scaling the product, the team, and the entire company. ????

✨ Your Responsibilities

  • Solve challenging technical problems across the stack to develop critical customer-facing features; includes the frontend (React, Typescript), communication layer (GraphQL, Apollo), and backend (Python, Flask, sqlalchemy).
  • Drive end-to-end development of projects and see the feature through to launch and own iterations and followups.
  • Design and build robust, scalable systems that enable us to scale our platform to 10x the number of users.
  • Uplevel your team by providing feedback and potentially mentoring junior engineers or interns.
  • Become an expert in the Lumos product, working with other stakeholders to refine user requirements and team goals.
  • Grow the engineering team! Interview candidates and refine our recruiting processes as we rapidly grow.

????Pay Range

$125,000 - $150,000. Note that this range is a good faith estimate of likely pay for this role; upon hire, the pay may differ due to skill and/or level of experience.

???? What We Value

We care much more about your motivation and excitement to grow into the role than we care just about your CV. Instead of focusing on what people need to have, we focus on what people need to do. Additionally, we try to find out whether you would be a good fit for Lumos based on our values that define how we achieve outcomes and what characteristics we value.

We strongly encourage individuals from underrepresented groups to apply. ????

???? Benefits and Perks:

  • ???? Remote work culture (+/-4 hours Pacific Time)
  • ⛑ Medical, Vision, & Dental coverage covered by Lumos
  • ???? Company and team bonding trips throughout the year fully covered by Lumos
  • ???? Optimal WFH setup to set you up for success
  • ???? Unlimited PTO, with minimum time off to make sure you are rested and able to be at your best
  • ???????? Up to (4) months off for both the Birthing & Non-birthing parent
  • ???? Wellness stipend to keep you awesome and healthy
  • ???? 401k contribution plan
