    Our Mission

We work shoulder to shoulder with educators to support great teaching and accelerate student learning. We focus on small systems, both districts and charters, and we work to ensure equitable access to great instruction for students in poverty, students of color, students learning English, and students with disabilities.

    Our Core Values

    Live Big-Hearted

We care deeply about ourselves, each other, our work, our partners, and the students we serve. We value the differences each other brings to the table because we know diversity of voice, thought, and experience makes us better. We operate joyfully and without ego, collectively focused on the broader good.

    Choose Optimism

We believe that, with the right support, every student can succeed. We have the courage to lean into challenges and believe in the possibility of overcoming obstacles while holding a high bar for ourselves, partners, educators, and students. As we advance antiracist actions, our path may not be smooth, but we will walk it anyway because we have faith that the journey will make our team and our education system better.

    Advance Antiracism

We create and uphold space for all team members, partners, and students so they are seen, valued, and heard. We lift the voices and experiences of Black, Latinx, Native, and Asian American and Pacific Islander people. We embrace diverse expressions of excellence that make our team more inclusive and effective.

    Be Honest

We are open, authentic, and truthful with ourselves, teammates, and partners. Our trust in each other and our work gives us the courage to lean into difficult conversations, put forth new ideas, and give and receive feedback through the lens of equity of voice and experience. We understand the intense and gripping nature of our work, so we name our needs to ensure we are practicing self-care and love within our beloved community.

    Get Practical

We believe support should be thoughtful by meeting people, schools, and systems where they are. We leverage the voices, strengths and stories of families, educators, partners and teammates to find answers, because we know there isn’t a “one size fits all” solution to the challenges of our education system. We always look for ways to work smart, focus on the most relevant impact, and reduce friction to make it easier to take action while grounding our progress in equity.

    Keep Learning

We know and love that we don’t yet have all the answers because we are nerds for learning, even when it’s hard or ambiguous. We actively pursue new knowledge, research, and evidence so that we can leverage the latest insights and best practices in our work, then we put that knowledge to work in partnership with our team, our partners, and the students and communities we serve. We respect the learning that springs from our own antiracist journeys and vow to activate our knowledge in pursuit of equity and excellence.

    How We Work

Instruction Partners is a nonprofit organization dedicated to excellent instruction for all students, with a focus on students in poverty, students with disabilities, students learning English, and students of color. As the Director of Marketing you’ll play a key role in the development of a progression of programs that will help us further define, develop, and establish leadership in a new category. The right person, maybe you, will be at the forefront of testing new messaging and positioning hypotheses, driving demand for our enterprise products, evolving how we tell our brand story and truly helping us connect to our audiences. As a performance-minded marketer, you’ll leverage your know-how to lead high-performing B2B demand creation programs. Plus this is a role where you will also lead the development of our GTM technology stack, in partnership with our IT and Sales organizations.

This is a critical leadership role that is uniquely positioned at the intersection of the business, the brand, and the customer to help us not just grow but also create a category.

    As Sturdy’s Marketing leader you’ll

    • Report to our CRO and work closely with other co-founders and BU leaders.
    • Own the entire marketing side of the business including brand, communications, and performance marketing.
    • Be a cross-functional leader— collaborating on strategy across the company while serving as the liaison between product and GTM functions.
    • Define tools and processes — We do not have our tools, processes, and workflows built out yet. You will define the tools and processes we need to scale the business.
    • Gain a deep understanding of our audience and develop our positioning, messaging, and collateral.
    • Launch, track, and optimize programs/campaigns across multiple channels (paid and organic) to move prospects down the funnel.
    • Own the content calendar and tell the story of our brand and company to engage prospects, customers, and partners.
    • Own the budget and KPIs to ensure that we operate efficiently and meet key business goals.

    What we are looking for

    • 6+ years of experience in B2B SaaS marketing, with demonstrated experience building and executing holistic go-to-market plans
    • 3+ years of experience leading and growing a team
    • An energetic approach to collaboration that will drive your proactive partnerships across product, customer success, and sales
    • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills to tell compelling and cohesive stories
    • Highly productive and able to deliver a wide range of marketing output
    • Sharp analytical and quantitative skills
    • The ability and range to roll up your sleeve and get into the work while planning for future scale.

    In case you were wondering

Working at Sturdy is different. You’ll be challenged to learn and inspired to perform at your best. You’ll be respected for being an individual and rewarded for being part of a winning team. Our management style is one of respect and integrity. For most of us, it’s not our first rodeo. We’ve founded, built, run, and sold successful software startups. Our culture is collegial but far from fraternal. We take pride in building our product, our team, and our community.

    • Ideally, this person will be in the Portland, Oregon area
    • Medical, Dental, and Visions plans for you and your family
    • Competitive pay and equity
    • Respect — when you join our team, we have your back.

    Our Vision

All students experience an excellent education that prepares them to contribute to their community, achieve economic security, and pursue their dreams.

Next Gen HQ empowers young people to win at business and life. We believe an entrepreneurial mindset and personalized experience set us apart from outdated networking tools and experiences. Each day we aim to support members through our empowering community, curated resources and opportunities, and events including Next Gen Summit, a #1-rated, award-winning conference.

What Makes Next Gen HQ Special?

Next Gen HQ is not your typical company. Our Co-Founders and CEOs are members of Forbes 30 under 30. Our community represents Shark Tank contestants, Thiel and KPCB Fellows, a high schooler who founded and sold a marketing agency, a teenager who launched a multi-million dollar sock company. Our members’ companies have even gone on to acquire one another! Suffice to say, the network and work we do at Next Gen HQ matters. And we do it better than anyone else.
