You’ll Spend Your Time:

  • Becoming a technical product expert, evangelist, and coach, able to give technical sales demonstrations to customers and partners

Our Opportunity

Are you passionate about cloud computing and cost governance? Do you want to work in the intersection between finance and technology? We seek an experienced Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team and spearhead technical cost visibility and optimization across multi-cloud and SaaS environments. You'll report to the Sr Director of Infrastructure Engineering, collaborate closely with the Sr Director of Product Management for Infrastructure, partner with a dedicated FinOps cross-functional group, and liaise with the FinOps Sr Director in Finance and Operations.

By the end of the first 30 days, you will have gained knowledge around the complexities and challenges related to FinOps at Snyk, including understanding resource usage across our tech ecosystem, current financial metrics around COGS and margins etc. By the end of the first 60 days, you will have strong opinions about how to solve challenges, helped define clear KPIs and actively be making changes and working with teams on baseline cost improvements and controls

You’ll Spend Your Time:

  • FinOps Infrastructure Engineering:
  • Design and implement automated cost management solutions leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform
  • Build cost-aware CI/CD pipelines for deployments, integrating cost checks and optimization gates.
  • Configure cloud provider native cost controls (AWS Budgets, GCP Quotas) and leverage advanced cost anomaly detection tools.
  • Cloud Cost Visibility and Optimization:
  • Identify major cost drivers of cloud spend
  • Develop and maintain real-time dashboards and reports for cloud spend (AWS Cost Explorer, GCP Billing) and SaaS tool usage (Datadog Cost Management, Snowflake Usage Reports).
  • Utilize cost allocation and chargeback models to drive cost ownership and accountability across engineering teams.
  • Perform cloud resource tagging and cost categorization for granular cost analysis and optimization opportunities.
  • Leverage cloud optimization tools to identify and prioritize cost saving initiatives.
  • SaaS Tool Financial Management:
  • Integrate SaaS cost data into FinOps dashboards and reports, enabling holistic cost visibility across cloud and SaaS environments.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to implement cost-effective SaaS usage policies and resource optimization strategies.
  • Automate SaaS spend alerts and notifications to prevent cost overruns and promote responsible tool utilization.

What You’ll Need:

  • Experience in engineering or technical operations, with increasing responsibilities in FinOps and Cloud governance
  • In-depth expertise in public cloud (AWS, GCP)
  • Experience with IaC tools and CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure automation
  • Proficient in data analysis, visualization tools and scripting languages

You’ll spend your time

  • Designing and defining detailed specifications for technical and functional requirements

  • Defining and communicating the vision for Secure Developer Experience

  • Interacting with customers at the most senior level of the Security and Engineering organizations.
  • Collaborating with our marketing, channel and legal teams on the SLED go-to-market strategy.
  • Capitalizing on your territory knowledge and utilizing connections in market to grow your account base.

You should apply if:

  • You have a minimum experience of 5 years selling  SaaS/Security solutions to SLED 
  • You practice extreme ownership, are skilled in navigating complex organizations
  • You have experience in SLED sales and selling to C-level executives 
  • You’ve excelled at selling into Cybersecurity, DevOps, or DevSecOps groups within the enterprise segment or other innovative technology solutions
  • You’re self-motivated and hard-working: have a proven track record of exceeding your quota, and have closed million dollar + ARR transactions in your career.
  • You demonstrate a strong collaborative mentality - selling is a team sport at Snyk, where managing and using virtual resources to tackle large and complex sales cycles is a must-have skill.
  • You have experience leveraging your ecosystem internally and externally, effectively collaborating with leadership, customer success, channel partners, marketing, product, and finance to drive deals and make customers successful.

Our Opportunity

We're looking for a collaborative, hard-working Account Executive to join one of the hottest startups in the US!

Your Role

As part of the Customer Acquisition Sales team within a global sales org you will play a meaningful role in scaling one of the fastest growing companies in the Developer Security space. 

This is an outbound sales role and will include sourcing leads and connecting with prospects in accounts that match our ideal customer profile, and building strong relationships with key stakeholders in the DevSecOps, Development, and Digital Transformation teams at those accounts.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to the iterative improvement of our sales process, tone and approach, and you'll have plenty of scope to inform the way we develop our internal tooling to help you work efficiently and effectively. 

We're a collaborative team from a variety of backgrounds, made up of sales executives and technical sales engineers. We spend time coaching each other, giving and receiving feedback, and ensuring we work together to make the most of the skills and experiences we have within the team to maximize performance and earning potential. 

You’ll Spend Your Time:

  • Leading the end-to-end post-sales customer journey and will be responsible for identifying new logo opportunities to bring onto the Snyk platform.
  • Developing prospecting strategies and messaging cadences to break into new accounts. 
  • Focusing on specific accounts within a given territory and mapping to identify key decision makers.
  • Owning the end-to-end sales cycle for net new customers. 

What You’ll Need:

  • Experience selling a technical product, and the desire to join a high growth start up.
  • 2+ years of closing experience.
  • An understanding of the software developer lifecycle and the ability to articulate how a developer tooling product might fit in.
  • Experience identifying target accounts that would be a good fit and generating pipeline through outbound activity.
  • Experience working within short and long sales cycles.
  • Self-motivation and determination: you aim to exceed your quota, and you enjoy working in fast-paced environments.
  • A collaborative work ethic and love belonging to a high achieving sales team.
  • Resilience: you believe mistakes and failures are learning opportunities, and you value feedback.
  • To be open, honest and take an entrepreneurial approach to sales, mindful of your customer's risk tolerance.
