VetsEZ is seeking an AWS/Node.js Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) to be a part of a remote team. This candidate should have experience in cloud-based technologies specifically with developing and re-engineering middle-ware applications and solutions that leverage the AWS Cloud services.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise to an agile team on a range of AWS cloud service implementation, migration, delivery, and performance management activities for multiple AWS environments.
  • Participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
  • Design and build middleware solutions to enable the integration of different systems and applications.
  • Work closely with team members as needed to resolve technical issues, as well as perform routine tasks such as monitoring, server management, user and group administration, software installation, imaging etc.
  • Maintain and improve existing middleware solutions; Optimize performance, scale out and build resiliency in the platform.
  • Working as both an infrastructure and application development specialist.
  • Play a key role in migrating and transforming legacy solutions to cloud native architecture and in advising and implementing AWS best practices.
  • Work with team to enhance the automation capabilities of deployment, monitoring, & maintenance, within the DevSecOps construct.
  • Communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or equivalent degree.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated technical, IT, or Operations experience within a large-scale technology services environment in the following areas: Software Development, Application Support, and Infrastructure Support.
  • Working experience in AWS platform services such as Amazon Lambda, Auto Scaling, Elastic Load Balancing, Amazon Elastic Container Services are required.
  • Strong programming skills, including experience with languages such as node.js, Java and Python (Backend API and Microservices development experience).
  • Experience with AWS Application Migrations with Java based applications or Mainframe applications.
  • Experience in AWS developer tools, SDK, CLI tools, VPC, EC2, EBS, S3, ELB, Auto scaling, Elastic Beanstalk, IAM, RDS, Route 53, Cloud Front, Cloud watch, Cloud Trail, Secrets Manager.
  • Working knowledge of provisioning S3, Lambda, Step functions, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, configuring IAM, RDS, and DynamoDB services.
  • Experience with AWS EC2 Instances provisioning, AWS VPC setup, AWS Auto Scaling for availability of EC2 Instances and availability of applications.
  • Extensive knowledge in creating AWS CloudFormation templates/scripts; Build and Deployment strategies with CloudFormation and Serverless JS Framework.
  • Solid understanding in noSQL database like MongoDB, Elasticsearch, DynamoDB etc.
  • Knowledge on various components like Docker Engine, Hub, Machine, Compose and Docker Registry.
  • Expertise in source control and deployment tools like CodePipeline, GIT, Jenkins, etc.
  • Proficiency in programming with different Java IDE's like Eclipse ,Net beans, Visual Studio
  • Experience with monitoring and metrics (PagerDuty, Dynatrace, CloudWatch, etc.).
  • Understanding of Agile, DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is strongly desired and experience working in a DevOps environment with teams.
  • Experience with Red hat Linux, Unix or Windows operating systems.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or other health-related organizations desired.

  • AWS Certification a plus.

The salary or hourly wage offered by Nextiva to external candidates considers a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skills sets, experience, training, licensure and certifications, etc. Our compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Our estimate of the expected hiring range for the position as posted is $130,000 - $231,000. Your responsibilities

  • You will develop a data pipeline processing a large amount of data reliably and at a high rate using Python, Go, MongoDB, GCP and much more.
    • For example, our clients feed their visitors’ behavior through real-time tracking to our platform. The data then can be analyzed and used for marketing automation. We process tens of thousands of requests per second????. You may help improve the efficiency of our workers, improve monitoring or help with autoscaling of our infrastructure.
    • Imports are critical for our clients to utilize our platform to the fullest. You may help us to improve the throughput and reliability of our importsas we need to import millions of rows of data or help us implement integration with another data storage.
  • We also are responsible for exporting data from our platform to Google’s BigQuery using google’s DataFlows and Apache Beamallowing data access by our clients

From a new projects, we are building Data LakeHouse to serve data for various non-real time analytical usecases, using Google BigLake Manged tables, IceBerg open table format, AVRO with Parquet open file formats with DataProc (Spark, Flink, Presto) on top of it.

  • You will help us run and support our services in production handling high-volume traffic using Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes.
  • You will review the code of your peers and they'll review yours. We have high code quality standards and the four-eyes principle is a must!

About The Team

The Horizons Cloud Engineering team is responsible for defining, building, and supporting the foundational cloud services that all developers at Life360 depend on. This team consists of some of the most senior and trusted engineers at Life360 who are constantly thinking about scale and performance and how it will impact the millions of customers and families that depend on our services. About the Job

You’ll be working with a close-knit backend team of Cloud, PHP, Java, and Python engineers, all working closely to provide a best-in-class platform for developers to use. This team works closely with our Staff engineers and other teams at Life360 to ensure solutions will perform at scale. 

What You’ll Do

  • Work with other engineers to strategize on how to decouple PHP services into new Java microservices
  • Horizontally scale our PHP platform to handle another 10+ billion events per day
  • Work cross-functionally across teams to gain alignment on your or team's initiatives
  • Monitor health, suggest/drive improvements for, and deploy your own services
  • Mentor other developers to help them grow
  • Maintain and improve service level objectives (SLOs)
  • Collaborate closely with Staff engineers to build technical specs 
  • Help our Test Engineering team to further automate services and component validation 
  • Handle on-call rotation and work with the team to address incidents

What We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar quantitative field or the equivalent industry experience
  • 5+ years experience with Java services
  • 3+ years experience with relational or non-relational databases such as MySQL, Postgres, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, etc
  • Proficient in microservices and horizontally scalable architectures
  • Understand how to deploy and maintain systems, ideally with Kubernetes
  • Communicates effectively with cross-platform teammates

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience with Java (bonus for Spring Framework experience), Python, PHP, CakePHP, and queuing/stream technologies such as Kafka and NSQ
  • Adaptive to working across programming languages regularly 
  • Experience decoupling large monoliths into discrete services 
  • Experience working remotely, with minimal guidance, and building strong cross-functional partnerships

Qualifiche

requisiti indispensabili per entrare a far parte del nostro team sono:

  • Laurea Specialistica in discipline STEM

Your Experience

  • Familiarity with REST APIs and latest OpenSource technologies

    Classy's Engineering team is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join our Commerce services team. This team is part of our larger core services group responsible for the design, build, and maintenance of our critical microservices and infrastructure that processes vast volumes of financial transactions measured in billions. The ideal candidate will combine good engineering expertise with product aptitude, is motivated by exciting technical challenges that come with scale, and thrives in a fast-paced, iterative, and collaborative environment.     What you’ll do:

    • Be a valued member of an autonomous cross-functional agile team to continuously experiment, iterate and deliver on our technical and product roadmaps
    • Play an important role in building and maintaining a robust, fault-tolerant transactions orchestration layer (e-commerce platform)
    • Contribute to a microservice-based evolution of our platform and architecture
    • Learn and grow your skills by working collaboratively with experienced and engaged developers to design new features and re-architect existing ones.
    • Collaborate with other engineers to improve your software engineering skills using the best software development practices and processes.

    What you bring (Required):

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
    • 5+ years building and maintaining highly scalable backend services in an event-driven architecture
    • Good understanding of distributed software architecture with experience debugging distributed systems with high data loads
    • Experience building RESTful APIs 
    • Experience with Javascript ES6, Node.js/Express, NestJS, or other backend technologies and languages
    • Familiarity AWS solutions (EC2, ECS, Lambda, SNS), infrastructure as code tools (terraform), and containerization (Docker)
    • Ability to understand product requirements and translate them into technical subtasks.
    • High-level proficiency in schema design in relational or NoSQL databases (MySQL, MongoDB)
    • A deep sense of quality, and sharp engineering skills with strong computer science fundamentals.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills

    What you’ll accomplish:

    • Collaborate with Product Managers and Front End Engineers to develop features and improvements to Classy 
    • Participate in code reviews to maintain internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices

    What you bring (Required):
