    VetsEZ is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to work on our HDM Project supporting the Department of Veteran Affairs. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring secure coding guidelines and best practices are in place. The position will require a strong knowledge of DevOps principles and applying security technologies and best practices in an ever-changing and fluid environment.

    The candidate must reside within the continental US.

    Responsibilities:

    • Work with developers to assist in designing and architecting secure systems.
    • Develop general techniques and frameworks that will enable other engineering teams to find flaws before they are introduced into production.
    • Be a security subject matter expert and respond to any internal security engineering questions/requests.
    • Work with other teams to help architect solutions that are inherently secure.
    • Correctly balance security risk and product advancement.
    • Perform threat modeling for existing applications.
    • Perform reactive incident response when a security event occurs.
    • Perform proactive research to detect unknown attack vectors.
    • Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to advance their ability to take ownership of and implement secure coding techniques and follow the OWASP best practices.
    • Monitor the enterprise for signs of unexpected activity, and research, architect, and execute solutions that will advance internal security monitoring & controls.
    • Code Synchronizations across all environments
    • Mature CI/CD to incorporate automated testing in Jenkins
    • Research opportunities for process improvements
    • Attend meetings: CM Scrum, weekly CRB, weekly release
    • Support design and maintenance of the cloud security environments, with a strong focus on AWS.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technical related discipline.
    • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in DevSecOps, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment tools, and automation.
    • Strong Development background using multiple development tools, techniques, and platform technologies.
    • Jenkins deploys - SME knowledge of Jenkins and GitHub
    • Manual deploys - SME with SSH access
    • Familiarity with UNIX environments and navigating UNIX
    • git / bash scripts SME
    • Strong experience with API Security, Container Security, Cloud Security.
    • AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification or Developer (Associate).
    • Experience utilizing tools across various platforms and environments such as Jenkins, Docker, GitHub, Confluence, Kubernetes, Jira, AppDynamics, etc.
    • Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing with the client and team members, including experience documenting and presenting findings.

    Additional Qualifications:

    • Experience in SAFe/Agile Software Development
    • Ability to obtain a government clearance
    • Familiarity with VA environment a plus
    • Familiarity with HealthShare Management Portal a plus

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or equivalent degree.
    • 10+ years of demonstrated technical, IT, or Operations experience within a large-scale technology services environment in the following areas: Software Development, Application Support, and Infrastructure Support.
    • 5+ years of demonstrated experience leading business development lifecycle and planning including problem framing, solution and technical volume development, and proposal writing support with a proven successful track record.
    • Knowledgeable on how specific infrastructures and applications software are deployed in line with relevant methodologies and frameworks.
    • Experience in explaining highly technical data and information in simplistic language for end users of complex IT systems and projects across all the company's capability areas.
