In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with Business Systems Analysts and stakeholders across the company. Together, you’ll build, integrate, and refine applications like Hubspotto meet business needs, drive efficiency, and enhance user experience. You’ll be the technical go-to for everything from system integrations to troubleshooting, with a key focus on optimizing our business applications for maximum impact.


What you'll be doing

  • Collaborate with Business Systems Analysts (BSAs): Partner with BSAs to understand business requirements and provide technical expertise to translate these into functional solutions.
  • Integration Projects: Lead and participate in the design and implementation of system integrations, ensuring seamless process and data flow between different platforms.
  • Technical Solution Design: Architect scalable, reliable, and efficient technical solutions that support business objectives, including automation and process improvements.
  • Problem Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to SaaS applications, working with vendors and internal IT teams as needed.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure a shared understanding of project requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including system architecture, integration workflows, and configuration specifications.
  • Testing & Validation: Conduct testing and validation of new features, configurations, and integrations to ensure they meet business requirements and function as intended.
  • Compliance & Security: Ensure all technical solutions comply with company policies, industry regulations, and best practices for data security and privacy.

What you'll bring:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably with SaaS applications and system integrations.
    • Proven experience working with ERP, CRM, or other enterprise systems.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of JavaScript, and a familiarity with React and Node.js
    • Experience with API integrations, working with REST APIs
    • Experience with database management and SQL queries.
    • Familiarity with SaaS platforms like Salesforce, Workday, or NetSuite.
  • Business Acumen: Ability to understand business processes and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills with a focus on finding efficient solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud-based platforms and integrations.
  • Knowledge of ITIL, Agile, or similar methodologies.
  • Certification in relevant SaaS platforms (e.g., Hubspot, NetSuite ERP Consultant).

For our products we use a variety of backend technologies with Django being the key framework used to provide the API to our Angular based user interface.  For this role, you will need to have a deep understanding of both Python and Django and be excited to apply that knowledge in creation of applications and APIs to fulfill the requirements of our planned SaaS platform in 2025.  You will be eager to understand the full set of application technologies already applied in existing applications and make best use of that extensive toolkit and broad range of AWS services in building out new features or products.

•    Industry experience in working with Agile software development practices

•    A deep understanding and commercial experience of Python and Django

About the Job

The Support Technical Engineer will join the software development team in supporting content publishing by working with both engineering and content developers to get the content to the databases and environments for testing and production via CI/CD operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide data support working within tight deadlines

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

  • The candidate should have a solid foundation in networking including routing, switching, security and load balancing. 
  • 4+ years of experience with cloud computing technologies (e.g. Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, etc.) across Windows and/or Linux
  • Azure Core Platform: Compute, Storage, Networking.
  • Azure Web Apps: developing, deploying, debugging and supporting web applications using .NET, Java, PHP, Python, Node.js etc. on Windows or Linux.
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): using DevOps, Bit Bucket, GitHub.

      Continuous Improvement: Advocate for and implement best practices in software development, including agile methodologies, automated testing, and continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD).

      Mentorship & Leadership: Share your knowledge and expertise with the team, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to a collaborative and growth-oriented engineering culture.

      You Have

      Proven Experience: At least 5 years of experience in full-stack web development, with a track record of delivering successful, user-centered solutions.

      Tech Proficiency: Strong skills in our primary tech stack - JavaScript (React), Ruby, Node.js, and familiarity with cloud environments (GCP, Kubernetes).

      API Mastery: Proficiency in designing and consuming RESTful APIs, understanding their role in scalable, efficient applications.

      Code Quality Focus: Commitment to writing clean, maintainable code and a thorough understanding of application architecture principles.

      Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, enabling effective collaboration in a remote setting.

      Learning Agility: Eagerness to learn new technologies and approaches, with a proactive mindset and willingness to contribute ideas.

      Bonus If You Have

      Advanced Skills: Experience with advanced cloud-native technologies, microservices architectures, or security best practices is highly advantageous.

      Open Source Contributions: Active participation in open source projects or a strong GitHub portfolio demonstrating your passion for software development.

      Community Engagement: Involvement in tech communities, speaking at conferences, or writing technical blogs that showcase your expertise and thought leadership.

      Cobalt is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is ($130, 800 - $180, 000) per year + equity + benefits. A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.  The salary range may differ in other states and may be impacted by proximity to major metropolitan cities.
