Job Description

Aetos LLC is seeking a Senior Informatica ETL Engineer team member to join an existing team providing Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) solutions to a government client. The ideal individual will have 5+ years of experience with Informatica PowerCenter. Must be responsible for successful technical delivery and support of Data Warehousing, Data Migration and Transformation, and Business Intelligence projects using an Agile project management methodology. The duties of this role will include all aspects of data processing, storage, and ingestion, as well as data analysis and visualization of relative multi-program data. 

Qualifications

Responsibilities:  

ETL/Data Warehouse: 

  • Create, maintain, and reverse engineer the Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) procedures for the Data Warehouse (DW) environment using the Informatica PowerCenter suite. 
  • Perform analysis of RDBMS tables and PowerCenter objects to answer questions pertaining to the data warehouse and the data transformations. 
  • Create and maintain scripts and files that perform various functions on the Informatica integration servers.  Use Putty or other Unix text editor to maintain Linux environment.  
  • Maintain data model documentation (ERwin) if changes to the ETL require database changes, and develop, test, and deploy associated DDL.  
  • Manage releases of changes to ETL, scripts, DDL, and scheduling components from Development to Test to Production.   
  • Provide support for the Test, Certification, and Production DW environments.  
  • Maintain Consolidated Data Model (CDM).  
  • Any knowledge of Informatica Cloud Integration Services a plus 
  • Provide ongoing development and maintenance of financial data marts and enterprise data warehouse using BI best practices, relational structures, dimensional data, structured query language skills, data warehouse and reporting techniques.  
  • Collaborate with end users to identify needs and opportunities for improved delivery of data supporting agency financial operations and mission.   
  • Convert business requirements and high-level data collection needs into well-specified ETL, analyses, reporting and visualizations.  
  • Define and log work using JIRA.  
  • Participate in recurring team meetings (Agile). 

Education & Qualifications Required:   

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or commensurate experience in a related field.   
  • 5 + years of experience using Informatica PowerCenter at development level (creating mappings, workflows, etc). 
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in ETL development support and maintenance. 
  • Strong SQL (Oracle) abilities. 
  • Proficiency in shell scripting 
  • ETL environment where Salesforce a source a plus 
  • ETL environment where Control-M used a plus 
  • 2+ years of Informatica PowerCenter administration.  If in a Linux environment a plus. 
  • Knowledge or usage of Informatica IICS, EDC, and or AXON a plus.  
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.  
  • Experience in gathering requirements and formulating business metrics for reporting.  
  • Familiarity with Erwin data modeling tool.  
  • Experience working in a Microsoft SharePoint environment.  
  • Experience with AGILE and writing User Stories.  
  • Must be able to present diagnostic, troubleshooting steps and conclusions to varied audiences.  
  • Experience monitoring and maintaining enterprise Data Warehouse platforms and BI reporting services.  
  • Banking and lending domain experience a plus.

About the Team -
The Tax Team at Instacart is instrumental in optimizing the company's tax strategy by reducing overall tax expenses through effective planning, while ensuring compliance with all Corporate Income Tax and Sales and Use Tax regulations. The team is comprised of specialized units: Tax Technology, Indirect Tax, Direct Tax, and Tax Project Management Office (PMO). Together, they collaborate extensively with departments such as Finance, Legal, Policy, Product, Engineering, and Business Development to ensure a robust and comprehensive approach to tax planning and compliance.

About the Job 

  • Responsible for assisting the tax team with a variety of data projects including projects around machine learning and tax analytics
  • Responsible for assisting with new products and initiatives from a tax technology perspective and working with the tax PMO team
  • Responsible for providing data-driven analysis and insights in support of tax calculations, forecasting, and tax planning utilizing analytics tools (Alteryx, SQL, Tableau, PowerBi, etc)

      Salary

      This position is posted with an expected salary range of $95,000 - $120,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.

      About This Role

      The Corporate Controller will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial reporting functions of the organization, leading toward the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), regulatory requirements, and public company standards. The Controller will manage the accounting team, work closely with senior leadership, and report directly to the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO). This role is critical to supporting the company’s financial operations and internal control environment, ensuring transparency, and providing insightful financial analysis to facilitate business decision-making. The Controller leads the day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close. Responsible for meeting deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation and financial reporting. The Corporate Controller provides positive and proactive leadership to the organization, and specifically for the global Accounting team.

      Key Responsibilities include:

      1. Financial Reporting & Compliance:
      • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely internal and external financial statements (quarterly, annual) and earnings release support in compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, etc.).
      • Technical expertise relating to US GAAP, covering accounting for balance sheet and P&L areas. Areas of importance (not all inclusive) include revenue recognition, leases, debt, consolidation, foreign currency, fair value, disclosure, etc. Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, SEC filings, and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) internal controls
      • Leadership and coordination around the external audit, quarterly review, and ad hoc processes, liaising with auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit.
      • Review and ensure proper documentation of all accounting transactions, ensuring adherence to corporate policies and regulatory standards.
    • Accounting Operations:
      • Leadership for the general ledger, accounts payable, expense reimbursement, payroll, equity administration, and tax & treasury functions.
      • Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure the efficient and accurate operation of the accounting department.
      • Monitor and manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to ensure deadlines are met.
      • Lead cross-functional and internal Finance oriented projects to meet objectives and improve efficiencies and effectiveness of the organization.
    • Internal Controls & SOX Compliance:
      • Maintain and improve the company’s internal control structure in accordance with SOX requirements.
      • Develop and implement policies for internal financial controls and audit processes.
    • Financial Analysis:
      • Work closely with the finance team to prepare accurate financial forecasts, budgets, and projections.
      • Provide insightful analysis of financial data to support strategic decision-making, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and variances from budget.
      • Assist in the preparation of board and board committee reports, investor relations materials, and other external communications.
    • Leadership & Team Management:
      • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. Provide consistent, timely, and motivational communications.
      • Manage the recruitment, training, and professional development of accounting personnel.
      • Provide leadership to ensure that accounting activities are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Tax Compliance & Reporting:
      • Oversee the preparation of corporate tax filings, ensuring compliance with international, federal, state, and local tax regulations.
      • Lead activities supporting indirect taxation, including sales & use, VAT, GST, property, and business taxes.
    • Treasury & Cash Management:
      • Oversee cash flow management and investment accounts.
      • Ensure proper accounting treatment of cash receipts, disbursements, and financial instruments.

      Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent preferred).
      • At least 15 years of accounting experience, including a minimum of 3-5+ years in a corporate controller or senior accounting role for a public company.
      • Extensive knowledge of GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
      • Strong leadership abilities with a track record of managing and developing teams.
      • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior executives, auditors, and external stakeholders.
      • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and proficiency in financial modeling and analysis. ERP implementation experience a plus.
      • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights.
      • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
