ABOUT THIS POSITION

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Node.js Developer to join our team. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining our core backend infrastructure and applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.   • Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient Node.js applications using industry best practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field; with 3+ years of industry experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience;

Must have:

  • Excellent JavaScript, and NodeJS development experience;
  • In-depth knowledge of Node.js core concepts and frameworks (Express, NestJS, etc.)
  • Experience with various databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and API design principles
  • Experience in containerization technology such as  Docker
  • Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, etc.)
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise-level, mission-critical applications;
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, able to synthesize complex information into succinct executive summaries for internal and external audiences;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English;

Good to have:

  • Experience with PHP (8+)
  • Experience with Next.js
  • Experience with Redis/Memcached
  • Experience in server technologies, specifically AWS/Azure/GCP
  • Familiarity with open-source software a plus;

Primary responsibilities for a Senior Data Engineer

  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, Data Scientists and Data Analysts to take ideas from concept to production at scale.
  • Design, build and maintain our data platform to enable automation and self-service for data scientists, machine learning engineers and analysts.
  • Design, build and maintain data product framework to support EquipmentShare application data science and analytics features.
  • Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated data and machine learning deployment processes.
  • Develop data monitoring and alerting capabilities.
  • Document architecture, processes and procedures for knowledge sharing and cross-team collaboration.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain and raise the bar for engineering standards by making sure that the code is secure, performant, scalable, and of high-quality
  • Work together with product managers, designers, and other engineers to find, rank, and implement solutions for challenging business issues pertaining to pricing strategies, inventory control, demand forecasting, revenue optimization, and customer segmentation

You’ll be a great fit if you have/are: 

  • Working experience with Web as a Sofware Engineer
  • Strong knowledge in Semantic HTML, CSS(3) and JavaScript(ES6)
  • Solid experience in Angular2+, TypeScript, RxJS, and NgRx
  • Solid experience in using testing tools such as Jest and Cypress or similar
  • Passionate about building great products in small, autonomous, agile teams
  • A passion for automation tests and experience writing testable code
  • Experience building sleek, high-performance user interfaces and complex Web apps that successfully shipped to customers

Our Tech Stack(you don't have to be excelling inall, but willing to learn them):

  • Angular 15+(includingNgRxandAngular Material) orReactat their full potential to build our web apps
  • Nrwl Nxto manage them as mono repo
  • Storybook as live components documentation
  • Node.js, NestJs and PostgreSQLto power up the BFF middleware
  • EKS/Kubernetesused by the Cloud team to run the platform
  • Contentful to provide some dynamic content to the apps
  • DataDog, SonarCloud, Semgrep, LaunchDarkly, and Segment to help us safely track, monitor and deploy
  • GitHubwithGitHub actionsto power the Cl/CD pipelines (new joiners are encouraged to have something deployed to production in their first 2 weeks)
