We realize people do not fit into neat boxes. We are looking for curious and empathetic individuals who are committed to developing themselves and learning new skills, and we are ready to help you do that. We cannot complete our mission without building a diverse and inclusive team. We hire the best people based on an evaluation of their potential and support them throughout their time at Cloudflare. Come join us!

Available Job Locations: Austin, TX or San Francisco, CA

About the department

At Cloudflare, we are on a mission to help build a better Internet. We aim to be a highly admired, iconic company that will endure for generations. Diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging are critical to that. We believe that more diverse teams are more innovative. More diverse teams make better decisions. More diverse companies yield stronger financial results. More diverse companies are proven to be a better place for everyone. In order to achieve our potential, we must reap the benefits that diversity offers.

We are looking for a seasoned program manager to support our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) initiatives to work cross-functionally and globally to ensure Cloudflare is a fair and equitable place where everyone can do their best work.

More about our journey

Our DEIB efforts were initially seeded in our Learning and Development and currently ran by the VP of Recruiting. As a result, we have a strong foundation of programming that raises awareness, provides education and supports inclusive practices. Community and belonging matter a lot at Cloudflare, and it is most evident with our active and expansive Employee Resource and affinity groups. Each ERG is mission-driven, cares deeply about Cloudflare and works well together.

We have been recognized as a Great Place to Work with regards to diversity and inclusion, including 100% on the Human Rights’ Campaign Corporate Equality Index.

…and we are just getting started.

What's Next

We are ready to build on this strong foundation. Our next phase will have a focus on embedding DEIB best practices in all aspects of the employee experience and employee life cycle. The Diversity Program Manager will work cross-functionally across all teams, in all geographies with leaders at all levels. With an aim to solidify DEIB efforts and best practices into how we operate at the company, day-to-day, this will not be siloed work.

What you'll do

  • Shape our global DEIB strategy, embedding best practices to create a culture of inclusiveness where everyone can do their best work
  • Lead with a data-driven approach that tracks and evaluates the effectiveness of all programs
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on DEIB matters and relevant internal metrics. You use the data and expertise to partner with:
    • Recruiting: Provide leadership on necessary training to build diverse pipelines and an inclusive hiring process. Help identify conferences and events that help us reach a more diverse talent pool. Help tell the story to promote our employment brand.
    • People Team Business Partners: With an eye towards development and retention, create robust programs to promote equity, fairness and belonging, and deliver long-term impact.
    • Learning and Development: Create, champion and promote diversity and inclusion programming, starting with onboarding through all phases of the employee life cycle.
    • People Analytics: Have a deep understanding of diversity metrics, helping us set goals and action-plan against those goals.
    • Cloudflare managers and leaders: Promote awareness, best practices and programs that support a culture of equity, inclusion and belonging that allow everyone at Cloudflare to do their best work. Influence leaders to drive change and accountability.
  • Own and manage diversity and inclusion-focused cultural events and holiday celebrations (e.g., Day on: Learning and Inclusion, International Women’s Day)
  • Support our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) efforts and transparency reporting, including commitment to 1% Pledge, and various gender diversity pledges
  • Serve as a central point of contact for our ERG’s and their executive champions. This includes support with annual planning, budgeting, events, and awareness.
  • Lead external branding of Cloudflare’s DEIB efforts, e.g. external blog, careers page/website, Cloudflare TV and more

What You Bring

We don’t believe that people fit neatly into boxes. For this role, our one requirement is: Proven DEIB leader with a track record of influencing all levels in an organization, building programs from the ground up and delivering measurable change. We have a strong preference for someone creative with an allergic aversion to anything disingenuous: we are not looking to check boxes or look good on paper. We want to deliver meaningful results that support a culture that allows everyone to do their best work. Period.

Compensation

Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location.

  • For Colorado-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $127,000 - $155,000
  • For Bay Area-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $156-000 - $190,000

Equity
