About the role

The Compensation Program Manager maintains and runs the operations of compensation programs across Oscar, including broad based compensation planning,sales compensation,annual bonus plans, etc. They act as the project manager for the Compensation Team, along with Compensation Leadership, to ensure all programming is designed in line with market best practices, rolled out in an effective and transparent way, and administered in a well defined/documented manner in line with larger Total Rewards and People Team Strategies.

You will report to the Associate Director, Compensation.

Work Location:

If you live within commutable distance to our New York City office (in Hudson Square), our Tempe office (off the 101 at University Dr), or our Los Angeles office (in Marina Del Rey), you will be expected to come into the office at least two days each week. Pay Transparency:

The base pay for this role in the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington is: $113,600 - $149,100 per year. The base pay for this role in all other locations is: $102,240 - $134,190 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar’s unlimited vacation program and annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and run the operations of compensation programs across Oscar, including broad based compensation planning, EOY review cycles, pay equity studies, sales compensation,and annual bonus plans.
  • Communicate and educate employees about the compensation philosophy and programs ensuring transparency and understanding while also ensuring other People Team members understand their role within the programs.
  • Act as the point of contact and project manager within the People Team to support compensation related initiatives.
  • Liaise with Finance teams to ensure accurate support of budgeting, headcount planning, and the bonus accruals process.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of compensation plan performance/effectiveness and guide recommendations for enhancements and changes based on market best practices and Oscar’s current needs.
  • Support SOX compliance by providing support for applicable audits of process, calculations, and payment activity.
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 4+ of experience in compensation planning and analysis at a public company
  • Ability to lead programs and processes organization wide by 4+ years of demonstrated project management experience and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines
  • 4+ years of hands on experience in advanced excel with the ability to build complex models and create robust analyses
  • 4+ years of expertise of job architecture and market data analysis
  • 2+ years of Workday experience

  • Knowledge of sales compensation plan design, principles, and best practices
  • Health Insurance company experience

About the department

The Infrastructure department at Cloudflare handles all our data centers and network interconnections around the world, from research and development of our servers, to planning network capacity expansions, to getting our equipment anywhere in the world that it’s needed, to executing new deployments and data center expansions.

The Infrastructure Planning & Capacity Engineering team is part of Cloudflare’s global Infrastructure (INF) team. The team is the central decision making center responsible to scale Cloudflare's Infrastructure, Edge and Core. The team delivers the required speed and plan accuracy to scale seamlessly and efficiently by alleviating all potential bottlenecks.

What you'll do

  • Identify bottlenecks and recommend optimizations for service owners to improve capacity utilization of applications
  • Identify and institute new planning verticals
  • Develop simulation models and tools which analyze multi level constraints (data center space and power, budget, lead time constraints)
  • Collaborate with application owners and product managers to understand capacity requirements, software optimization initiatives, and generate short/long term capacity demand forecasts
  • Data Modeling/Business Intelligence
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing capacity planning infrastructure for greater scalability
  • Design, develop and scale user friendly systems, reports and dashboards which support capacity planning

  • Experience in account management, sales or similar position managing multiple clients/customers, programs, projects, etc.
  • Previous experience working in higher ed, international education, student  advising, or assisting faculty and their staff preferred 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite (particularly Excel and Sheets).

THE ROLE

As an Accessibility Technical Program Manager (TPM) you will be responsible for supporting our growing accessibility program by coordinating Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs) end to end. This will span internal and external teams and have multiple stakeholders across functions from beginning to end including: preparing for audits, coordinating remediation, supporting our district sales partners and writing supporting documentation for our district customers. We understand that delivering accessibility is a continuous challenge (not a one time thing) and are opening this role to boost our capabilities in continuously delivering and communicating an improved accessible experience. 

The ideal candidate will have technical expertise in understanding WCAG, VPAT and the role ACRs play in the procurement process for education and is familiar with negotiating trade offs between stakeholders to best support improving accessibility in a complex environment. They will be motivated by the goal of being an inclusive platform for learners with disabilities in our mission of providing a world class education to anyone, anywhere.

You will:

  • Manage third party vendor relationships in the accessibility space, coordinating and documenting features for audit, communicating results back to product teams
  • Partner with engineering, design, product, and district success teams to drive the delivery of highly accessible products and services
  • Design and implement processes based on project management best practices that enable cross-team collaboration and solve for program success
  • Partner with our district success team to be able to answer key accessibility questions, facilitate feedback from them and provide recommendations to them
  • Keep team focussed on success metrics throughout program delivery, balancing business needs and technical constraints
  • Build bridges and create operating mechanisms across other functions in the organization to support accessibility, including internationally

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Experience working on Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACR) using VPAT and understanding the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
  • Experience delivering, and advocating for accessible experiences that center the needs of users with disabilities
  • Experience working with accessibility in math education is a plus
  • 5+ years of Program Management or Technical Product Management experience on complex web applications.
  • Proficient in program/project management tools (e.g. Gantt charts, spreadsheets, JIRA, Confluence, presentations, etc.); comfortable collaborating in an online/cloud-based environment (e.g. Google Apps, Slack, etc.)

Your impact

As a Senior Technical Program Manager in the Data group, you will have the opportunity to drive meaningful change at a growing company. Grammarly is uniquely positioned to continue defining the digital-writing-assistant category, but this comes with significant challenges. Finding the right balance and driving data and user-trust tracks while maintaining consistency across a rapidly growing team demands high-level thought leadership and smooth processes.

In this role, you will:

  • Work through ambiguity, leading data programs across multiple teams at Grammarly.
  • Identify the opportunities, requirements, and risks associated with data and user trust programs; define milestones and success criteria; and manage schedules.
  • Exercise technical judgment in evaluating projects and their potential solutions.
  • Communicate and lead effectively, both with the team and with leadership.
  • Develop and maintain scalable processes and assist with resource allocation.
  • Ensure alignment of priorities across all relevant teams and take steps to remove roadblocks.
