Job Description

As a Merchant Solution Engineer, you will engage with merchants to plan and complete engagements focused around both platform usage and the merchant's overall business needs to drive growth. You will engage directly with our merchants and their technical teams to have solutions-focused discussions around the Shopify platform. You will consult on their ecommerce technology stack and business objectives, and provide guidance on how to best leverage the Shopify platform and ecosystem. You will also advise on best practices around complex integrations and provide solutions to set them up for long-term success on our platform. 

Merchant Solutions Engineers are Shopify advocates and represent the Shopify brand, values, and product, the role includes merchant-facing activities, including remote and on-site engagements with merchants and supporting community events. You'll be partnering with large Shopify Plus merchants across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, specialising in Japan, and be a key source of insight to provide feedback to Shopify’s Product, Engineering and User Experience teams. 

Qualifications

  • Native Japanese experience in enterprise ecommerce, digital agencies, solutions engineering, or customer onboarding roles, including experience supporting a wide variety of industries, verticals and business types (including strong native Japanese language capabilities).

  • Become an expert on Shopify’s capabilities, application ecosystem and integrations.

  • In-depth Shopify platform knowledge suitable to engage with technical and non-technical merchants to demonstrate the solutions possible and the value of the platform as part of their technology stack. 

  • Experience with Shopify’s APIs, Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other native and integrating technologies.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills - you will interact with diverse technical and non-technical groups, and can effectively facilitate and manage interactions with numerous stakeholders.

  • Analytical capabilities with an understanding of ecommerce best practices, the commerce ecosystem, industry trends, technology vendor landscape, integrations and systems architecture.

  • Familiarity with development lifecycles, version control systems and development environments (git/Github is a plus).

  • A solutions mindset - our largest and most advanced merchants like to push the boundaries of commerce and will often custom build solutions to achieve their goals. 

  • Ability to collect, document, and articulate merchant goals and technical requirements

  • Exceptional writing and presentation skills to express merchant organisational challenges with appropriate messaging for multiple audiences and  all levels of leadership.

  • Business acumen - language, listening skills, presentation and actions.

  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills to support a range of merchants with multiple concurrent requests, and the ability to reprioritise on an ongoing basis.

  • The ability to thrive on change, work well as part of a team and as an individual contributor, as well as the flexibility to work locally, regionally and globally in a matrixed organisation. We evolve at a rapid pace and things change quickly, sometimes even daily!
     

Responsibilities

  • Execute merchant engagements (service deliveries) within the defined and agreed upon framework.  

  • Build and evolve additional services that fill unmet needs in Shopify’s current platform functionality and partner offerings.

  • Manage the communication and expectations of the merchants during pre and post-service engagement, along with internal Shopify stakeholders. 

  • Provide supporting ecommerce expertise through guidance on best practices, knowledge of industry trends and the Shopify platform. 

  • Speak and attend events to evangelise Shopify to current & prospective merchants and technical audiences.

  • Identify and participate in case studies and events that increase merchant growth.

  • Collaborate with internal Shopify teams to improve merchant and partner experiences and develop internal technical knowledge.

In this role you will...

Primary Responsibilities:

· Communication with clients on execution of contracted programs

· Coordinate execution across Operational, Technical, and Product teams to meet contractual obligations for all existing programs

· Initiate all client program changes with internal teams to ensure accurate and complete results

· Capture and record, according to processes and standards, all project execution steps and ensure proper assignment to relevant parties.

· Participation in sales generation and account growth planning and discussion with regards to currently maintained programs

· Schedule all client deliverables and associated activities

· Participate in training of Associates and New Hires where appropriate.

· Assist Senior Solutions Engineering Manager in all tasks associated with execution of client deliverables.

· Coordinate with Customer Solutions Engineering Associate team to assist in completion of all duties associated with completion of client deliverables across assigned client base.

· Coordinate and execution of new program launches in partnership with the Implementation team.

· Participate in internal meetings as part of the Solutions Engineering team to share best practices and to present case studies where applicable.

  • Interact with customers to understand their security use cases, workflows and challenges.  
  • Leverage information security experience to identify client technical success criteria including key metrics and methods of delivery and integration.  
  • Scope and implement custom solutions across a variety of client architectures, applications, programming languages, and tools
  • Manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Collaborate with multiple internal teams including sales, product management, engineering, and leadership on customer requirements
  • 3 to 5-plus years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with cyber-security tools including attack surface products, EDR (endpoint detection and response), vulnerability scanners, SIEMs, SOARs and ticketing systems.  
  • Customer-facing experience, especially in sales, training or consulting
  • Ability to train clients around how to utilize APIs and third-party integrations

What you’ll bring as the Client Solutions Engineer:

Job Description

As a Senior Solution Engineer, your primary responsibilities include:

● Work closely with our mid-market customers to identify and solve their most critical business problems.

● Tactical role which provides a marked contribution to defining the direction of new solutions, processes, standards or operational plans based upon business strategy, with a significant impact on business unit overall results.

● Work closely with leadership to define strategies and campaigns for the team internally

● Work on process improvement and mentoring the junior resources.

● Support the sales team by conducting discovery calls and product demonstrations for our active deals. User requirement gathering, analysis, and scope definition, Wireframing, Creating Proof of Concept (POC), RFP, RFI responses.

● Conduct effective requirements gathering to clearly identify customer problems.

● Build and deliver compelling technical demonstrations of the Freshworks products.

● Articulate the value of Freshworks solutions to a variety of audiences.

● Be a lifelong learner and develop your skills continuously.

Qualifications

● We’re looking for mid- senior level professionals with 4-8 Years years of professional experience. Any experience as a Pre-Sales/Solution Engineer in a SAAS setup is preferred. ● Excellent soft skills and presentation skills are a must for this role. You will rely on these skills every single day!

● Experienced in mentoring and building teams.

● You should be capable of working on a cross-functional team to solve business & tech problems.

● You must possess solid verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.

We’re looking for a solutions engineer to support our Great Expectations Cloud product. As a solutions engineer, you’d be responsible for managing the technical relationships with customers and prospects alongside the go to market team. What You'll Do


Pre-Sales Responsibilities:

  • Identify customer business requirements and matching them to product features

  • Collaborate with the GTM team for coordinating the customer issues and best practices guidelines

  • Build joint customer strategies with enterprise sales, support and field services to encourage product adoption

  • Provide live demonstrations of the the Great Expectations Cloud platform to prospective customers

  • Answer Great Expectations product questions and helping customers and prospects to take full advantage of the cloud product

  • Build relationships with key decision makers and serving as a customer's technical point of contact

  • Educate prospects on product implementation and usage

  • Learn about customers' successes and challenges, sharing customer feedback within Superconductive’s product and engineering teams and advocating for customer interests

Post-Sales Responsibilities:

  • Act as intermediary between sales and technical teams to best meet customer needs

  • Communicate customer feedback and perspectives to appropriate teams to be considered in product strategy

  • Demonstrate ownership and coordinate with engineering and escalation teams to achieve resolution of customer issues and requests

  • Manage urgent customer outages and requests by being their technical point of contact

  • Documenting technical considerations, collecting existing articles and contributing to internal knowledge bases as a resource for other teams, customers and partners

  • Identifying bugs and improvements in the Superconductive cloud product

  • Build a knowledge base with technical documentation, manuals for the support team and for the customers.

The Partner Solutions Engineer is responsible for enabling enterprise agencies to ensure they are fully abreast of the Shopify platform from a technical perspective. Qualifications

Requirements for the Role

  • Experience in enterprise ecommerce, digital agencies, solutions engineering, or customer onboarding roles, including experience supporting a wide variety of industries, verticals and business types.

  • Become an expert on Shopify’s capabilities, application ecosystem and integrations.

  • The ability to educate and align partners on Shopfiy’s commerce vision, roadmap and approach.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills - you will interact with diverse technical and non-technical groups, and can effectively facilitate and manage interactions with numerous stakeholders.

  • Analytical capabilities with an understanding of ecommerce best practices, the commerce ecosystem, industry trends, technology vendor landscape, integrations and systems architecture.

  • Development experience. You’ll be speaking often with developers and technology teams and need to be able to speak their language. (Liquid, Ruby, JS, HTML, CSS etc.)

  • Strong knowledge of Shopify APIs (REST and GraphQL). Partners often want to create custom apps; it's your role to let them know what's possible, where to start, and what the best path to implementation is.

  • Experience with Liquid, the Shopify templating language. 

  • Familiarity with development lifecycles, version control systems and development environments (git/Github is a plus).

  • A solutions mindset - our largest and most advanced Partners like to push the boundaries of commerce and will often custom build solutions to help their merchants achieve their goals. 

  • A commercial mindset - you are able to look past the pure technical implementation to understand the broader business and commercial application.
