This position will report to the regional Senior Manager, OSP Engineering and is responsible for a key part of the successful implementation of the Brightspeed FTTP build.  This role requires knowledge of outside plant network construction and all dependencies regarding permits and permissions required to install cable plant in the field across aerial and buried applications.  The Senior Permitting Engineer works with the design team and our construction partners to ensure the FTTP build projects stay on track by lining up permits and expediting the permit process. In this role, you may work with engineers, architects, and design staff to ensure permit applications contain every required item to avoid costly delays in the review process. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining project plans to ensure timely approvals and permissions are in-place and on-schedule to support an uninterrupted sequencing of work for our construction partners to meet or exceed the Brightspeed FTTP build plan.

In addition, as the Senior Engineering Permitting and Joint Use you will need to maintain a forward-looking posture and partner with regional Brightspeed regulatory and governmental affairs to provide a strategic view of permitting needs 12-18 months in advance of construction.  The role may also include coordination of related projects such as Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) opportunities to ensure we meet business goal

In this role, you will be part of a team responsible for Financial, Managerial, Bank, Investor and ADHOC reporting as well as business performance reporting and analysis for the consolidated Brightspeed organization. You will analyze financial and operational results to better understand company performance, become a subject matter expert identifying and researching performance variances and proactively identify opportunities for improvement. You will develop and maintain effective relationships with business partners and cross-functional teams. You will support reporting efforts and existing processes and procedures to ensure efficient financial operations. You are detail-oriented and an analytically minded individual who is comfortable with creating and interpreting financial models. As Senior Financial Data Analyst, Forecasting & Management Reporting, your duties will include: 

  • Providing actionable insights and strong reporting commentary, including metrics reporting
  • Reporting and analyzing weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual business trends, financial statements, revenue streams, and cost structures to identify key trends and insights
  • Translating complex financial data into clear and concise narratives for executive management
  • Communicating financial insights and recommendations to various stakeholders, including executives, department heads, and investors
  • Understanding, manipulating, maintaining models and reports, leveraging various software tools and platforms for reporting and various financial and business analytics such as PowerBI, SAC and other ERP accounting tools
  • Optimizing and automating reports through the use of VBA, SAC, PowerBI 
  • Obtaining data from BigQuery, Looker and other data sources and managing offline financial data table monthly for reporting use
  • Partnering with key stakeholders to drive strategic and actional insights with strong reporting commentary
  • Ad-hoc corporate project support including modeling, analysis, and reporting

 

Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or data analytics 
  • 5+ years of proven experience in financial data analysis, accounting and financial statements understanding including the P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flows, financial analysis principles, key drivers, and levers
  • Highly adept in MS Excel with experience of building and/or maintaining complex financial models
  • Experience working with planning and reporting tools such as Hyperion / Essbase, SAP, Anaplan, PowerBI, SAC as well as ERP and accounting systems
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills
  • Proficient in SQL, report automation, handling large quantity of data

  • At least 5 implementations and hands on expertise in SAP BRIM FICA, FSCM, ABAP, and other relevant programming languages
  • Proven track record of designing and delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Expertise in web and mobile application development, including HTML5, CSS, Java, JavaScript, and React a plus

The Internal Audit & SOX Control IT Analyst is a detail-oriented individual who will be responsible for conducting internal audits to assess the effectiveness of IT internal controls, identify areas of improvement, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations. The IT Audit Analyst will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of auditing principles, and communicate audit findings clearly and effectively.  

In addition, the Internal Audit & SOX Control Analyst – IT will play a crucial role in ensuring the organization’s compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act by assessing, monitoring, and enhancing IT internal controls and processes. The IT Audit Analyst will participate in IT walkthroughs to understand and identify key IT controls, keep abreast on control-impacting system and technology changes, effectively and efficiently test key IT controls, and monitor action plan remediation activities.  

As An Internal Audit and SOX Control IT Analyst, Your Responsibilities Will Include: 

  • Participate in the planning, fieldwork, and reporting phases of internal audits across various departments to evaluate the adequacy of IT internal controls. 
  • Develop and execute SOX test plans to assess the effectiveness of IT general controls over financial reporting, including thoroughly and clearly documenting the testing workpapers. 
  • Effectively identify root causes, best practices in control design and operational effectiveness, and communicate results with system owners and management. 
  • Recommend process effectiveness improvements by identifying gaps and weaknesses, including evaluating for likelihood and impact. 
  • Partner with management to monitor the process of audit recommendations to ensure action plans are implemented timely and accurately. 
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of audit procedures and processes. 
  • Lead or support data analytics projects, integrating analytics into audit processes and identifying automation opportunities in partnership with IT. 
  • Collaborate with and educate system/technology and process owners regarding the importance of maintaining strong IT internal controls and the role of internal audit.  
  • Develop strong working relationships with system/technology owners to maximize the cohesiveness between the teams. 
  • Perform other duties as required. 
  • Maximum travel is approximately 15%. 

 

Qualifications

What It Takes To Catch Our Eye:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Accounting or related field. 
  • Relevant work experience (2+ years) including IT control identification and testing. 
  • Understanding and/or experience with various technologies, including cloud computing, infrastructure, platforms, applications, and databases. 
  • Fundamental understanding of business processes, financial reporting, and information technology audit and control frameworks such as SOX, COSO, COBIT, NIST, and OWASP. 
  • Knowledge of business continuity management and disaster recovery. 
  • Knowledge of ERP security (SAP preferred) and application control identification and testing. 
  • Knowledge of security architecture. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
