The Basics:

As a Tanium Senior Software Engineer focused on Endpoint development, you will build and maintain best-of-breed services that power products as part of a nimble development team. Tanium focuses on a customer engagement model and feedback process to ensure our products are designed the right way from the beginning. When new product ideas are identified, our software engineers design, develop, test, and deploy the products and supporting services from the ground up, while iterating with product management and customers for feedback and input.

• Build and maintain Tanium's endpoint services alongside an agile development team
• In partnership with our frontend and backend teams you will design, develop and test new product ideas from the ground up while working with product management for feedback and input

We’re looking for someone with:

• Education
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years industry experience, 5+ preferred
  • Experience designing and building high-impact, high-performance, scalable, observable, and maintainable backend services and APIs
  • Advanced knowledge of C, C++ ("Systems" Languages)

  • Experience with metrics driven development (Prometheus)
  • Experience building data processing pipelines for real time data
  • Experience with modern software engineering development and automation tools like git and CI/CD pipelines

What you’ll get

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 to $355,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.

What you’ll do:

• Documents requirements and specifications and reviews documentation provided by other teams and vendors.
• Works with mission teams to engage with potential customers within the DOD and identifies and evaluates prospective projects.

• Provide subject matter expertise to support agile development using methodologies based on iterative development, requirements and solutions

• Ability to track and report team utilization and velocity.
• Strong communications skills: you will be required to proactively engage fellow CDAO members and DoD cross-organizational colleagues both inside and outside of your team.

• Manage 19-person DoD program focused on the development and maintenance of innovative semantic Search solutions.

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree plus 7-10 years of program management experience, or a Masters Degree plus 5 years of program management experience.

• Possess a minimum of ten years of Project Management experience managing complex projects in an IT engineering or big data environment.

Salary Range

Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic based ranges for Washington state: $160,700 to $200,000 USD/annually. The salary/wage and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
