What we’re looking for…

ScienceLogic is looking for a (Associate) Technical Support Engineer (TSE) to provide high quality, enterprise level, technical support on our Restorepoint products for our customers, partners and other ScienceLogic team members. Restorepoint is a device configuration backup and restore solution for hybrid IT environments.

Candidates who excel in Technical Support positions possess excellent knowledge of systems and networks along with an enthusiasm to rapidly learn the newest technologies. You enjoy working with people to debug intricate problems, have impeccable communication skills (written and verbal), and are real team players who thrives in a collaborative environment to deliver outstanding customer experiences.

Restorepoint provides script-free network automation for more than 100 network, security, and storage vendors. Deployed in less than an hour, Restorepoint helps customers, managed service providers and IT support businesses to substantially lower their exposure to often unforeseen security, compliance, and availability risks.

The (Associate) Technical Support Engineer provides support for ScienceLogic’s entire Restorepoint product suite. 

  • Acts as a Tier 2 escalation point for all customer issues.
  • Assists with all support cases during periods of heavy volume.
  • Leads support efforts for customers who have been determined to have Critical value.
  • Coordinates with Customer Success Managers to address any technical issues impacting a Customer’s success.
  • Actively engages Technical Support personnel to ensure proper handling of customer questions and issues to which they have been assigned.
  • Escalates software bugs or feature enhancements to ScienceLogic’s research, development, and product management teams.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert in more than one area of the product.
  • Autonomously works on projects and more complex assignments with tangible results delivering benefits to the organizations.
  • Proactively looks for ways to improve processes and innovate the support experience.
  • Builds relationships and partnerships with other ScienceLogic teams.
  • Mentors and trains new team members.
  • Proactively shares information and expertise regarding recent fixes, and best practices.
  • Provides on-call and shift coverage as required.

 

Qualities you possess…

The key to being successful in the (Associate) Technical Support Engineer role within ScienceLogic is being an analytical thinker and an excellent communicator. You must be passionate about helping customers be successful with Restorepoint. The following skills and experience are also necessary:

 

  • 2+ years prior experience in the support of complex, Linux based enterprise software applications.
  • 2+ years Linux administration. Must be familiar with common administrative commands as well as able to write scripts in one of the major shells.
  • 2+ years networking experience. Must demonstrate experience with firewalls, routers, packet sniffers and general network fundamentals (Cisco, Check Point, Juniper, HP).
  • 2+ years MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite experience. You should be able to construct SQL statements to query and occasionally update information in a MySQL database.
  • 2+ years SNMP experience. Must demonstrate familiarity with snmpwalk, mibs and oids.
  • Detailed understanding of Server virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, AWS).
  • One or more scripting/programming languages (Bash/POSIX, Perl, Python, C, Go, PHP) – Experience with LUA would be a distinct advantage.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to professionally perform and communicate in stressful and high impacting situations.

Who you are and what you have:

  • A degree in Software Engineering, or related STEM degree
  • 7+ years of hands-on full-stack programming experience using Java, Javascript, Scala/Python
  • Experience working with big-data stack, including (but not limited to) spark /hadoop, kafka, Aerospike / Dynamodb
  • Experience with AWS tech stack, including but not limited to EMR, Athena, EKS,
  • Expert knowledge of multi-threading, memory model, etc. 
  • Understanding of database fundamentals and MySQL knowledge

LivePerson is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer for the GPT (Global Product & Technology) Division. You will be part of the LiverPerson SRE team building and managing highly available, distributed systems. You will: 

  • Ensure product high uptime and reliability 24x7.
  • Manage Linux servers in a multi-cloud environment
  • Manage high availability Kubernetes resources using Helm charts
  • Assist with deploying upgrades and patches using Chef/Ansible/Puppet/Helm
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting warnings and alerts related to the reporting platform’s performance
  • Develop monitoring resources and alerting systems such as Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana, DataDog and PagerDuty
  • Coordinate with DBA and developers to manage SQL and NOSQL database systems, including MongoDB, ElasticSearch, Postgres, MySQL and others

You have:

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience of managing cloud based production environment (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc)
  • Highly experienced working in the Linux environment, good scripting in Bash / Python.
  • Highly experienced working configuration management systems like OpsCode Chef, Ansible, Puppet,  etc.
  • Strong experience in Terraform, CloudFormation or other IAC
  • Experienced in SQL, including DDL and complex queries
  • Experienced working in the Kubernetes platform
  • Experience working in a microservices architecture using a message bus
  • Good knowledge of CI/CD pipelines orchestrators like TeamCity, Jenkins, Gitlab
  • Ability to integrate security best practices into the SRE workflow.

Overview:

In this role as SDET level II, you will be a highly contributing member of a core engineering team working to build the LivePerson products offering from the ground up and expertly integrating it into the existing LivePerson offering. We are looking for a SDET II to develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality. The responsibilities include understanding system requirements, designing and implementing tests and in some cases debugging and defining corrective actions. This also includes creating a test framework and/or integrating with other test frameworks. You will also review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts.)

You will: 

  • Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases
  • Create System, Resiliency and Performance verification test plans and test cases
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
  • Design, implement develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
  • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
  • Monitor debugging process results
  • Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions
  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
  • Stay up to date with new testing tools and test strategies

You have:

  • 4+ Years of industry experience
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject
  • Proven work experience in software quality assurance
  • Good knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
  • Must have Programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Relational or non relational databases experience, including MySQL and Cassandra.
  • Self-starter, with ability to perform QA Duties with minimal supervision.
  • Experience testing REST based APIs
  • Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Experience  inAutomation Framework (Selenium GRID, PlayWright, PyTest)
  • Experience is QA automation tools, frameworks, and libraries
  • Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
  • Experience working with AWSand Amazon Connect is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools and libraries (TestNG)
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
  • Experience with performance, resiliency and/or security testing is a plus
  • Experience working with Chaos Monkey, JMeter is a plus
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and experience working with Jenkins or similar tools.
  • Strong preference to candidates with experience testing integration of IVR, telephony, CRM, or CTI applications.
  • Excellent Analytical Skills with detailed understanding of SDLC especially with Agile development methodology
  • Experience with Kafka and Elasticsearch is huge plus
  • Understands process and sees value in automation and efficiency.
  • Strong problem solving experience being able to come up with solutions including collaborating with 3rd party engineering teams.

About the role

Salary Range

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The career level we are targeting for this role has a base pay between $136,900 and $184,600. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. About this Role

This role will be a part of our Developer Experience Team at Gusto! The Developer Experience Team is a small but growing engineering team that empowers the 200+ Product Engineers at Gusto. Gusto Product Engineers move tens of billions of our customers’ dollars every year and the Developer Experience Team helps them work efficiently, securely, and enjoyably.

The ideal Senior Software Engineer will be able to understand the needs of Gusto Product Engineers, and build the appropriate tools and services. As part of the Developer Experience team you are engaged at all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle, building tools to increase efficiency during feature development, ensuring our continuous integration and continuous deployment process is efficient and delivers fast feedback, and provide observability tools to help engineers understand the behavior of our software in production.

Here’s what you’ll do (and we’ll support you so you’re great at it):

  • Ensure our services communicate with each other seamlessly, have minimal downtime, and recover quickly.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the engineering team on coming up with best practices for writing, maintaining and running reliable services.
  • Improve our infrastructure setup and deployment strategies.
  • Impact the productivity and happiness of our entire team with the tools you build. You'll be the daily recipient of hugs and high-fives from our engineering and support teams.
  • Collaborate with the tools development team to improve our deploy pipeline.
  • Pager-duty rotation: Never fear! Most issues occur during work hours.
  • Work with our product engineering teams to ensure high performance of our services.

You'll know you're a good fit for this role if you have:

  • 10+ years of experience in a Platform, SRE, or DevOps role using a Ruby/Kubernetes/AWS stack or similar technologies
  • 10+ years of experience coding in Ruby, Golang, or similar
  • 5+ years of experience w/ Buildkite or similar to design and implement sophisticated Release and Deploy tooling on Kubernetes
  • Experience developing best practices to build out and maintain secure infrastructure, CI systems, service oriented applications, and more
  • Enjoys working and deploying technologies such as Kubernetes, AWS, Ruby, Rails, MySql, and Redis
  • Loves building tools enabling engineers to move faster, while maintaining security
  • Understands the importance of security and compliance when working with personal data
  • Tests infrastructure changes thoroughly and likes to double and triple check everything

Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $147,000-$206,000 in Denver & most remote locations, and $178,000-$243,000 for San Francisco & New York. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.

 


Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 daysper week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.

Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to help build a reliable web experience for our users. We believe that moving fast is our competitive advantage, and enables us to better serve our users. We also know that the faster we move, the more likely we are to break things.

You Will:

  • Design and implement SRE practices ensuring availability, scalability and observability of production systems with a strong focus on excellent customer experience
  • Actively seek and identify opportunities to improve the availability and performance of the system by applying the learnings from monitoring and observation
  • Use automation extensively to design, configure, manage, and monitor systems in support of our product development teams
  • Understanding of Infrastructure and infra automation (Infrastructure as Code)
  • Manage incidents and emergency response, track outages, ensure data integrity and engineer releases to promote safe, efficient and rapid deployments
  • Handle emergency response either by being on-call or by reacting to symptoms according to monitoring and escalation when needed
  • Improve the codebase by resolving logic issues, deprecating unused code, etc.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, alerting and SLO Reporting
  • Identify Service Level Indicators (SLIs) that will align the team to meet the availability and performance objectives
  • Perform and run blameless RCAs on incidents and outages aggressively looking for answers that will prevent incident reoccurrence
  • Provides reviews on design documents from internal and external teams
  • Performs more-complex tasks using highly-specialized knowledge and advanced business experience
  • Resolves complex tickets in creative manners
  • Develops and leads large and highly-complex cross-functional projects or programs 
  • Determines solutions to blockers, identify tasks, and developing solutions as appropriate
  • Responsible for at least for 1 major delivery domain and accountable for all the aspects of SRE for that domain
  • Develops standards, tools, and knowledge requirements for skill and career development

You Have:

  • 10+ years as a software engineer, shipping production code
  • 5+ years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or Production support Engineer
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or relevant years of work experience
  • Experience with service-oriented architectures and microservices at scale
  • Strong proficiency with RDBMS databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, etc.)
  • Strong proficiency in SQL scripting
  • Proficiency developing in one or more languages such as Java, Kotlin, Python, and/or others
  • Ability to use containers and orchestration frameworks (Kubernetes, Docker, Container registries etc.)
  • Knowledge of CDN, typescript frameworks, and GQL.
  • Knowledge and good understanding of any pub/sub / Queue messaging systems

  • Experience with configuring, customizing, and extending monitoring tools (Datadog, Prometheus, New Relic etc.)
  • Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills

  • Have a systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong and effective communication skills and a sense of drive
