As Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll: 

  • Architect, design, and implement scalable multi-tenant backend services and APIs.
  • Work on technologies such as Node.js, Javascript/Typescript, MongoDB, GraphQL, Apollo, Amazon Web Services EC2, S3, Lambdas, Kafka, and more.
  • Demonstrable solid experience and deep expertise in multiple technical domains.
  • Contribute to building and executing on functional strategy.
  • Lead projects that directly contribute to team and engineering organization's deliverables.
  • Produce and elevate the quality of maintainable, tested, performant, and scalable code.
  • Author, collaborate on, and evaluate design documents.
  • Influence technical designs and team-level prioritization as well as participate in technical solutions.
  • Collaborate product managers and designers in an autonomous, supportive team environment.
  • Mentor junior engineering in technical skills and Webflow culture.
  • Participate in engineering citizenship activities such as co-authoring engineering blogs, strengthening and improving our hiring processes, and leading internal hackathon teams.

About you 

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have 5+ years developing and deploying web applications, with a proven track record of shipping code.
  • Are familiar with Node.js and TypeScript and can write scalable services and APIs using Express.js, GraphQL, Apollo, and MongoDB.
  • Can debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
  • Proven experience building complex web systems that include multiple users and roles working concurrently. Experience creating test harnesses, load/scalability testing, regression testing with multiple users, and creating metrics to validate correct functionality.
  • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g. Jest, Mocha, Playwright, Cypress, K6).  Can discuss testing strategies, tools, frameworks, and metrics.
  • Are comfortable working in an agile, safe-to-fail, environment.

  • Be on periodic on-call for triage of critical alerts

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • CS Degree preferred

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain FederalRAMP clearance at a minimum
  • 5+ years industry experience
  • Experience designing and building high-impact, high-performance, scalable, observable, and maintainable backend services and APIs 
  • Knowledge of of Golang (required), Node.js, Python, Ruby, or Rust

The product enables company admins to ensure all of the employee’s information is filled out, internal operations are coordinated, and the employee gets key information to get them ramped quickly. The product is integrated with several other domains in the platform today, and there are future opportunities to integrate further across most existing Lattice product domains to make the employee’s onboarding experience successful both with their new company and with the Lattice product suite itself.

  • You’ll develop software to help companies build cultures in which their employees thrive.
  • You’ll partner with other engineers to build and own products across a modern tech stack. Our current stack includes React, Relay Modern, GraphQL, Node, and PostgreSQL. We rely on AWS to host our infrastructure.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Software Engineer of the Science Technology Organization, you would be working with a set of highly motivated and talented engineers to build cloud applications on latest technologies that scientists rely on every day in ways that enable them to draw more meaningful conclusions, or biological insights, more quickly.   • CZ CELLxGENE - A rich data platform with interfaces that enable any computational or biological expert to understand the molecular function of cells and tissues
  • Virtual Cells - A platform for scientists to build, collaborate and contribute to the AI powered virtual cells which would enable scientists to explore the molecular underpinnings of human health and diseases

      Hims & Hers is seeking a highly motivated, talented, and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic Category Activation & Reactivation team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, design, medical, marketing, and analytics, to build innovative features that drive significant growth across all treatment categories on hims.com and forhers.com. By enhancing the user experience and optimizing acquisition funnels, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our customer base and increasing revenue.

      You Will:

      • Lead and execute the design, development, and deployment of high-impact features for our web storefront.
      • Build scalable and performant solutions primarily within the front-end that drive business growth.
      • Mentor and develop team members by setting best practices for architecture, coding, delivery, and operations.
      • Foster collaboration across engineering pods and teams to create reusable, scalable solutions, contributing to architecture blueprints that benefit the entire organization.
      • Partner with key stakeholders in product, design, infrastructure, marketing, and project management to make data-driven decisions and optimize performance.
      • Contribute to the technical and strategic vision of the Category Growth Engineering pods, identifying and implementing new technologies to enhance security, scalability, reliability, and performance.
      • Collaborate with backend and quality engineers to deliver high-quality code that powers hims.com and forhers.com.
      • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by actively participating in sprint ceremonies and process refinement.

      You Have:

      • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably in an e-commerce or growth-focused engineering environment.
      • A strong understanding of modern web technologies (React, GraphQL, Javascript, Typescript, HTML5, CSS3).
      • Proven experience building complex consumer web applications with a strong understanding of state management.
      • Strong understanding of CSS, design principles, and component library creation.
      • Exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
      • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to translate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
      • Strong understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
      • Ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple projects, and deliver results on tight deadlines.
      • Familiarity with cloud hosting providers such as AWS.

      Nice To Have:

      • Passion for healthcare and a keen interest in understanding the complexities of the problem space.
      • Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
      • Proficiency in TypeScript, GraphQL, and power user of tools such as Datadog, Amplitude, and Growthbook.
      • Expertise in Domain Driven Microservice Architectures and Micro Front-Ends.

      $130,000$160,000 USD
