Abel & Cole is hiring a Remote Systems Developer (Commerce)

Commerce Systems Developer

Who We Are:

Abel & Cole has pioneered organic, ethical and sustainable food delivery for over 30 years. Doing things better is our bread and butter; from saving over 60 million plastic bags by using reusable boxes for our food deliveries, to finding alternatives to plastic long before it hit the headlines. We are forever challenging ourselves to find the most positive way to do business and want everyone to eat organic because it’s one way to save the future. It’s these values that enabled us to become B Corp certified; an optional audit we’ve gone through to recognise how we put people and planet before profit, as well as help us find room for further improvement.

We’re looking for more people to join our team of almost 600, to share our passion for doing the right thing even bigger and better than we do already. In a fast paced and competitive market, we know it’s our people who make the difference. You will help us to build or refine these services through your knowledge, experience, and desire to create highly performing software.

Abel & Cole has a burgeoning set of RESTful Web APIs, created initially to support our mobile app, but increasingly adopted as our integration surface with the outside world. As a developer in this team, you’d help to grow these APIs as well as extending the array of services which knit them together. You would also work on existing software and implementations to support the ambitions of the business. You’d be working with technologies including but not limited to: SQL Server, Azure Functions, Web Apps, Azure Bicep, Blazor, .NET 8, Azure Pipelines (YAML) and Azure DevOps.

You’ll work with the Developers and Testers in a Scrum team, guided by the Systems Principal, Systems Architect and Commerce Systems Lead, to deliver continuous improvements to our platform.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Management of CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
  • Management of Bicep Templates consumed by pipelines in Azure DevOps.
  • Interact with stakeholders to understand requirements.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to more junior members of the team.
  • Work with Testers and our support team to identify, document and solve bugs.
  • Independently identify opportunities for improvements and implement them with the team.
  • Chase ever better performance.

We’re looking for a Product Design Manager who’s passionate about creating unforgettable digital experiences for fans of youth and high school sports. At Hudl, you’ll lead the design of consumer-focused products that connect fans to the sports they love—whether it’s through livestreamed games, digital ticketing, or online fan destinations and communities. As part of a dynamic team, you’ll shape the future of fan engagement in this rapidly evolving sports tech landscape.

    • Collaborate. By forming close partnerships with multi-disciplinary counterparts in Engineering, Product, Design, Scrum and Quality, you’ll help define requirements and deliver clear and focused digital user experiences.
    • Design process, quality and delivery. You’ll advocate for tactility, accessibility, customer needs and design excellence, all as you shepherd your project to release. After delivering on-time solutions, you’ll measure and own the results of how well those solutions address design and product needs.

We'd like to hire someone for this role who lives near our offices in Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska, but we're also open to remote candidates in Kansas City, Chicago, Austin, Dallas or Phoenix.

    Must-Haves

    • Strong communicator. You thrive in a collaborative environment that fosters open and honest communication. • A problem-solver. You have the ability to think critically and holistically about user interactions, and can address complex design challenges to provide innovative solutions that factor in technical, business and design constraints.
    • Organizational skills. You can assess the appropriate level of design and research necessary to achieve your goals, with a plan to reach final deliverables.
    • Technical proficiency. You’ve used modern component-based design software (e.g., Figma and Adobe Creative suite) and tools like Miro to workshop concepts and drive alignment with remote stakeholders.
    • A robust portfolio. You’re able to showcase a variety of projects that demonstrate your expertise in UX design, including examples of user flows, wireframes, prototypes and final design solutions.

    Nice-to-Haves

    DevOPSsqlmobileazurescrumc++.net

Abel & Cole is hiring a Remote Commerce Systems Developer

We’ve learnt how important it is to recognise, develop and promote from within; and that trusting people lets them come up with the best ideas and that helps our entrepreneurial spirit to thrive.

    Summary:

We’re seeking a Commerce Systems Developer to help us expand and improve our outward facing APIs and Integrations. The Abel & Cole platform is rapidly growing to encompass public-facing APIs and sophisticated integrations with 3rd parties. The growth of these services need systems which are scalable and responsive at all times.

You will help us to build or refine these services through your knowledge, experience, and desire to create highly performing software.

Abel & Cole has a burgeoning set of RESTful Web APIs, created initially to support our mobile app, but increasingly adopted as our integration surface with the outside world.
