Job Summary: Our mission is to build Level's plans and make them easy to use, implement, understand, and pass recommendations on to our customers. As the plans are set up our team is also responsible for executing the logic that applies the plan rules to every transaction in Level. Every product we sell goes through this process and our work affects all our systems in Level. We work closely with all Engineering teams as well as Product, Account Management, Legal and Operations.
What You'll Do:
- Design and build scalable real-time systems to solve problems that enhance utilization of employee benefits
- Creating data models that are easy to use by various stakeholders
- Partner closely with cross functional counterparts (product, design, ops, data etc.) to set and execute towards the vision for the team
- Build high quality systems to help launch intentional benefits that delight users
- Provide hands-on leadership on multiple fronts (architecture/design, code reviews, quality assurance and incident management) to other engineers
- Establish and drive adoption of design and coding best practices within the team
- Improve engineering standards, tooling and processes
Who You Are:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience building data models and rule engines
- Experience converting complex APIs into simple solutions
- Domain knowledge with configurations around managing/designing plans and enrollment of members
- Experience working cross-functionally on high performing teams and handling sensitive data
- Passion to build highly available and scalable processing systems and architectures
- Owned the technical roadmap for large business areas
- Enjoy mentoring other engineers in their technical careers to help them grow
- Deep interest in changing the benefits landscape in the US and globally

This position has a minimum base salary of $185,000 and a midpoint base salary of $200,000. The base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards.
