We are seeking a Full-Stack JavaScript tech lead who will help the business realise its objectives to become the most advanced provider of Structured Products globally.

A key component of their tech stack is the Sales and Clients Web Platform (aka ‘Agile’). This sophisticated application enables sales traders, brokers, and external clients to price and book live trades through a ReactJS web-based interface and suite of NodeJS and C# services that connect the back-end ecosystem of booking, execution, finance, and risk platforms.

In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to work directly with the Head of Derivatives Trading and their team - the product leaders for the app - and provide technical leadership for a diverse team of 10 developers and testers based in London and Ukraine. We are looking for candidates who are not only passionate about best practices, good software design principles, and a DevOps mindset, but also thrive in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Architecture and design of the technology created and maintained by the delivery team.
• Line manage the team, and optimise its structure to continuously deliver value to the business.
• Collaborate with the Head of Derivatives Trading on the direction of the application.
• Define roadmap and strategy with Head of Development and other development leads.
• Oversee projects to ensure they are run efficiently and delivered on time and on budget.
• Liaise with business users and BA/QAs; define business requirements and provide updates.
• Ensure production grade systems and proper documentation.
• Define software development best practices and processes; ensure they are followed.
• Lead the planning and breakdown of sprints and user stories. Provide demos for stakeholders and SMEs.
• Work with stakeholders to prioritise and prepare stores and bugs for sprint planning. Ensure stores are well-formed, testable deliverables that can be delivered iteratively with testable acceptance criteria.

What you'll do as a Application Performance and Security Solutions Engineer

You will work with our clients to understand their business needs and understand their current applications landscape with the goal of helping them develop a security posture that meets their requirements while also keeping their applications and assets safe according to the most recent standards in cyber security, with high levels of reliability and performance.

You will work closely with our Account Executives (AEs); generalist SEs, as well as every other team at Cloudflare, from Sales and Product to Engineering and Customer Support. 

 

Responsibilities

You serve as a trusted advisor to our customers; helping them find the best solution for their business needs with Cloudflare.

  • Guide qualified prospects through the Solution Design and Proof of Concept stages of sales engagements; showing them the key capabilities of the Cloudflare One portfolio
  • Work with your Sales Partners to consistently achieve Pipeline and Revenue goals
  • Understand our customers IT landscape and security requirements and develop an architecture for our customers to support their business needs
  • Articulate the benefits of the Cloudflare application performance and security product portfolio vs competing solutions
  • Promote retention by capturing and communicating gaps in product or features
  • Collaborate and coordinate with account sales/pre-sales teams on opportunities and liaise with product management and support through the deal cycle.

 

Skill Requirements

  • Curiosity and Learning Agility
  • 3+ years of prior Technical Sales, Systems Engineering, or related experience
  • Experience interacting with senior level/executives to communicate a message of network and security transformation
  • Familiar with trends and attacks in cyber security (e.g. DDOS, SQL Injection, Cross Site Scripting, etc)
  • Hands-on experience with Cloud based architectures (e.g AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Detailed understanding of workflow from user to application including hybrid architectures with Azure, AWS, GCP.

  • Experience with Application, Security, Performance and Reliability products such as WAF, Bot Management, DDOS, Firewall, DNS and CDN.
  • Experience with sophisticated Botting technologies and technics (e.g Residential proxies, Headless browsers, fingerprinting rotation, click-farms)
  • Fundamental understanding of customer network and application architectures. 
  • Experience with JavaScript, Restful APIs, JSON,  and code versioning solutions (e.g. Git, Gitlab, Bbitbucket) and scripting languages
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
  • Fundamental understanding of the networking concepts (e.g BGP, TCP, Anycast, IP)
  • Stay up to date not only with Cloudflare’s specific products, but with industry trends.
  • Ability to jump in with hands-on configuration when needed

  • Experience with order management systems (OMS) or eCommerce platforms that handle the end-to-end order lifecycle.  Understanding of the overall eCommerce operations and processes involved in managing customer orders, from the point of placing an order to delivery
  • In-depth understanding of various payment systems and methods used in eCommerce, including credit/debit cards, digital wallets, mobile payments, and alternative payment solutions. Familiarity with payment gateways and payment service providers (PSPs) is also valuable
  • Experience in eCommerce discounting, including a solid understanding of discount strategies and promotional campaigns. Good knowledge of pricing strategies, discount structures and ability to analyze the financial impact of different discount scenarios and make data-driven decisions.

About The Role:

The Basics

As a Senior Software Engineer at Tanium, you will build and maintain best-of-breed products as part of a nimble development team. Tanium focuses on a customer engagement model and feedback process to ensure our products are designed the right way from the beginning. When new products ideas are identified, our software engineers design, develop, test, and deploy the products from the ground up, while iterating with product management and customers for feedback and input.

What you'll do

  • Build and maintain Tanium's products alongside an agile development team
  • Design, develop and test new product ideas from the ground up while working with product management for feedback and input
  • Work on small teams that tackle big challenges in common components like a common data service tasked with unifying and consolidating endpoint data across the entire ecosystem, handling time series data that drive dash boarding and reporting, and exposing data externally through GraphQL enabling partners (like Salesforce) to easily integrate

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • CS Degree preferred

Experience

  • Must be able to obtain Reliability status (RS) for Protected A, B, C at a minimum
  • 5+ years industry experience, 7+ preferred
  • Expertise building GraphQL APIs
  • Expertise in Gateway technologies (e.g., Azure Application Gateway, AWS API Gateway, Istio Gateway) to optimize network traffic and streamline communication between services
  • Experience building services on top of Kubernetes
  • Proficiency in infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, Helm Charts, CloudFormation)
  • Experience designing and building high-impact, high-performance, scalable, observable, and maintainable backend services and APIs
  • Knowledge of at least one of Golang (preferred), Node.js, Python, Ruby, Rust, or Java
  • Experience with HTTP API design and development
  • Experience with modern software engineering development and automation tools like git and Jenkins

THE ROLE
