Our Data Analytics team isthe central hub forEgnyte’s data infrastructure andenablesthe businessby providingdata in multiple forms. You will help us model Egnyte’s data into our Semantic Layer, redistribute the data via reverse ETL processes, maintain our data at a high quality,and provide technical guidance to analysts and businessusers.As an Analytics Engineer, you will work closely withData Analysts,playing a pivotal role in providing reliable, high-quality, and valuable data resources. You will also ensure these assets are updated and adapted as business requirements evolve. WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Design, build, and validate data transformation pipelines to create data models
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize the semantic layer architecture indbt, ensuring accurate and efficient data modeling that supports business intelligence, insights, and analytical needs
  • Collaborate across departments to apply our data strategy and corporate-wide data definitions that meet the demands of our fast-growing business
  • Take responsibility for delivering new data assets and enhancing the quality and functionality of existing ones
  • Promote the importance of upholding high-quality, easily maintainable data assets by following best practices and standards via internal code & data reviews
  • Oversee and refine our CI/CD process to streamline the automated deployment of high-quality code
  • Develop test cases to guarantee the continuous delivery of accurate and reliable data, safeguarding it from future changes.
  • Document our data models, logic, and the raw data itself
  • Monitor our data and solve data quality issues

 

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • You have a deep understanding of dbt (cloud or core) andcandevelop data models and create and maintaindbtarchitecture
  • You possess extensive experience in SQL, both datadefinition anddatamanipulation
  • You have experience with data tools and platforms, includingBigQuery
  • You have experience with Python tools used in data engineering
  • You have expertise in understanding business strategy and metrics
  • You havemore than3years of experience in data-related roles such as data engineering or data analytics
  • You have experience with test automation tools that ensure confident, reliable delivery
  • You are proficient with Git
  • You have experience collaborating in an Agile team environment, consistently delivering incremental value each sprint
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • You are familiar with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform to automate cloud resources.

  • Design, build and maintain core infrastructure pieces with a focus on availability, latency, performance, and capacity. Reduce toil and improve deployment timelines (40%)

  • 5+ years of experience as an SRE or similar role. Experience as a Software Engineer or Systems Engineer is also valuable.

Your Impact

As a Senior Staff SRE with the Cortex Observability team, you will:

  • Cloud Expertise: Utilize your expertise in monitoring cloud platforms, particularly GCP, to optimize our infrastructure leveraging cloud-native technologies.

  • Monitoring Expertise: Improve monitoring processes, alerts, and metrics. Work with development teams to ensure that all of our services have the right monitoring and metrics in place so that we detect problems before our customers do.

  • Incident Management: Leverage incident management processes to ensure efficient resolution of system issues and minimal impact on services.

  • Automation: Automate complex monitoring and alerting tasks by building tools for cloud operations, such as automated remediation of known issues and auto-scaling.

  • Continuously Improve: Stay up-to-date with cutting-edge technologies, evaluate their potential impact on our operations, and implement them when appropriate.

  • On-Call: Participate with our DevOps team to provide follow-the-sun operational coverage in the production of our SaaS product.

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • Observability Tools:High proficiency with Prometheus, Grafana, and other monitoring tools. Experience with log management solutions, particularly Splunk and ELK.

  • Distributed Tracing: Experience deploying distributed tracing using technologies such as OpenTelemetry.

  • Incident and Alerts Management:Clear understanding of incident and alerts management in Site Reliability Engineering.

  • DevOps/SRE Expertise:5+ years of experience as a DevOps/SRE engineer with a passion for technology and a strong motivation for high reliability at the service level.

  • Cloud Proficiency:High proficiency in either Google Cloud Platform or Amazon Web Services.

What you’ll do 

  • Configuring and managing cloud-native networking services provided by cloud providers, such as AWS VPC, Google VPC, or Azure Virtual Network.
