About The Role
We are seeking a Sr. Manager, Email marketing who will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of the Lifecycle program at Ethos. They are responsible for the overall strategy, growth, delivery, and execution of Ethos’ multi-channel lifecycle campaigns for our D2C business. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing data-driven email marketing strategies that drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention, with a strong focus on revenue generation and conversion optimization. This role requires a blend of hands-on execution and longer-term, strategic planning.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive email marketing strategies aligned with overall business goals and revenue targets
- Lead the creation, optimization, and execution of email campaigns across the customer lifecycle, including acquisition, onboarding, engagement, and retention
- Design and implement 0-to-1 email cadences for new product launches, ensuring effective communication of product value propositions
- Develop and optimize transactional email flows to enhance customer experience and drive additional conversions
- Conduct continuous A/B testing and experimentation to improve email performance and drive life insurance conversion rates
- Analyze email performance metrics and customer data to continuously improve campaign effectiveness and ROI
- Align email lifecycle strategies with sales strategies to ensure a cohesive customer journey and maximize conversion opportunities
- Write clear, strategic briefs for email campaigns that align with overall marketing objectives and provide direction for creative teams
- Collaborate closely with designers and copywriters to create compelling, on-brand email content that drives engagement and conversions
- Develop and maintain a strong point of view on email content strategy, staying ahead of industry trends and best practices
- Develop and manage the email marketing budget, including forecasting and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Own and be accountable for revenue goals specifically attributed to email marketing channels
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in email marketing for D2C businesses, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful email marketing campaigns in a D2C environment, preferably in insurance or financial services
- Proficiency in D2C-focused email marketing platforms such as Iterable, Braze, or Customer.io
- Experience in creating and optimizing 0-to-1 email cadences for new product launches
- Proven ability to design and improve transactional email flows
- Strong background in experimentation and conversion rate optimization, specifically for life insurance or similar high-consideration products
- Extensive experience with A/B testing, segmentation, and personalization strategies
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to derive actionable insights from data and translate them into revenue-driving initiatives
- Proven expertise in email content strategy and the ability to articulate a clear vision for email marketing initiatives
- Significant experience collaborating with designers and copywriters to create high-performing email content
- Strong track record of writing clear, compelling briefs that effectively communicate strategy and guide creative teams
- Experience in aligning email lifecycle strategies with sales strategies to create a seamless customer journey
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and email design best practices
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

The US national base salary range for this full-time position is $114,000 - $203,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
