Job Description

We are looking for an accomplished Training Program Manager who has experience in the development and design of a training program to support the Square Compliance Operations team. You will work with Compliance Leads, Program Managers and other relevant partners in the design and implementation of both eLearning and instructor led training content that fosters a learning and improvement culture. You will be focused on creating and/or optimizing effective, clear, and engaging learning experiences that inspire high performance across the Square Compliance team and compliance with applicable laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions. You will demonstrate excellent regulatory knowledge, program and systems design, and documentation abilities and be a partner to the Block Compliance training team.

You Will:

  • Develop a training framework, program document and roadmap to meet the training requirements of Square Compliance Operations
  • Develop training content for all Square Compliance categories as it relates to internal policy, regulatory requirements, and the Square platform
  • Develop feedback mechanisms and quality control outcomes to ensure team members understand the training content and can apply to daily program execution
  • Work with partners to identify training opportunities; design / coordinate the development of training materials, and conduct training
  • Maintain an understanding of Square products and features and applicable domestic and international compliance requirements
  • Stay informed of regulatory developments, industry trends and Block product road maps to ensure the training program(s) are up-to-date

Qualifications

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience providing compliance training for compliance operations teams with a financial services firm
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Knowledge in BSA/AML regulations, risks and typologies

Even Better:

  • Experience working in a Payment or Fintech company
  • Experience developing eLearning content

The ideal candidate has experience working directly with product teams on a day-to-day basis, while also being able to provide effective oversight and governance of key compliance activities such as issues management, testing and monitoring, policies and procedures, regulatory exam management support, complaints management, as well as credit decisioning policy and model risk management. Qualifications

You have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) at least 8-12 years relevant work experience, either at a PR agency or on an in-house communications team.

  • Previous communications experience with a consumer financial technology company and/or publicly-traded companies. Ideally, experience working on earnings and/or in the financial services industry. 

  • Experience pitching financial, business and technology publications.

You Will:

  • Collaborate with Sales and our Global Seller Onboarding team to align and execute our onsite install strategy.
  • Oversee the day-to-day performance and operations of our 3PN network, including:

    • Monitor third-party Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and implementing remediation plans.
    • Provide ongoing insights and project communications in collaboration with the Sales and Onboarding teams.

  • Negotiate, renew, and optimize partner contracts. Manage contract terms, oversee renewals, and conduct periodic reviews.

Qualifications

You Have:

  • 4+ years of work experience managing vendor operations in IT related industries
  • Understanding of Networking and Hardware infrastructure
  • Experience managing BPO operations 
  • Prior experience managing vendor relationships - including contract negotiation, SLA performance analysis, and relationship management. Experience using quantitative and qualitative data to represent the voice of our Sales team and other internal stakeholders in managing vendor relationships
  • Project Management experience
  • Analytics and reporting background, with the ability to build scorecards/dashboards

• Lead client calls and ensure call agendas and work product are provided in a timely manner.

• Review drafts of required US regulatory filings. • Prepare and conduct training for our clients, according to the client’s needs, particularly regarding the Advisers Act.

• Review drafts of client policies and procedures.

• Design and monitor testing systems to ensure the efficacy of controls and surveillance programs. • Mentor new team members.

• Perform other compliance-related responsibilities and special projects as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree

• 6 to 8 years of relevant compliance experience at a registered investment adviser, law firm, or investment consulting firm, experience practicing law regarding registered investment companies preferred.

• Working knowledge of the IA Act of 1940 and the ICA of 1940

• Knowledge of SEC Exam practices, experience with SEC exams and mock exams preferred.

• Knowledge of CFTC / NFA as well as FINRA requirements is a plus

About the Design Team

We’re a tight-knit and highly-collaborative team of Product Designers, Content Designers, Researchers, and Design Ops working closely with cross-functional partners to envision and deliver experiences that help people care for their home and empower small businesses nationwide to grow. We collaborate regularly through design critiques, work sessions, and presentations to inspire and influence the direction of the product and company as a whole.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Product Design across the Marketplace pillar, which consists of multiple cross-functional product pods. Directly manage the designers across Marketplace and operate as a lead for the pillar. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to envision, strategize, and guide the product direction.
  • Initiate and lead design visioning work at the team and company level. Empower design to create a northstar that guides product and experience decisions. 
  • Empower designers to consistently deliver high-quality design solutions that positively impact our users and the business
  • Cultivate a positive team culture of openness, curiosity, and bias for action

What you’ll need

  • 6+ years of experience in design leadership

  • Experience working on two-sided marketplaces

For candidates living in all other US locations, the expected salary range for this role is currently $241,000 - $295,000 Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
