The Technology Department delivers differentiation, scalability and security for the business. Reporting to the COO, Technology provides digital tools, software services and infrastructure globally to all business groups. Software development and support teams work in agile ‘streams’ aligned to specific business areas. The Business Technology function ensures delivery of Technology services to each Marex business area. The Head of Technology Integration is accountable for ensuring that the technology of all acquired companies is integrated, by taking technology from its ‘Day 1’ state to the organisation’s ‘Integrated Target State’.

Working flexibly across a complex book of work covering multiple legacy and new acquisitions, the Head of Technology Integration will both coordinate and progress actions to deliver integration for the organisation. This role is responsible for working with technology and business stakeholders to define (and control) the specific Integrated Target State for each acquisition. This role then translates the changes required into a prioritised programme of deliverables and drives progress until each target state is reached.

To do this, the Head of Technology Integration manages and sets direction for dedicated, matrix managed integration resources, ensuring work is correctly prioritised and that the team is capable to support and execute the work required of them. As part of delivery, this role monitors progress; batches, iterates and adjusts deliverables using agile principles; and manages issues and dependencies as required.

This role also coordinates closure of each acquisition’s integration phase, with formal handover to a relevant business-aligned technology stream to take forward maintenance and/or future rationalisation. Closure includes raising any operational risks related to the achieved integration target state into our Risk Control Framework.

The role will service the internal requirements of the Technology department and the deliverables that are generated by acquisition across the Marex business. Acquisitions generate books of work that need specification, ownership and co-ordination to reduce operational complexity, increase supportability and deliver synergies across commercial, productivity and regulatory areas.

Key to delivery will be the relationships established with Heads of each Technology Business stream, wider technology management and other business stakeholders who own and drive change.

The role will be expected to manage not just infrastructure changes but also understand and consider business challenges around system integration and rationalisation.

You will take ownership of the credit analysis for a proportion of the Marex client base, in conjunction with other credit analysts, to ensure a thorough understanding of each client’s business model & financials as well as the impact of macroeconomic events on each client. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to work directly with the Head of Derivatives Trading and their team - the product leaders for the app - and provide technical leadership for a diverse team of 10 developers and testers based in London and Ukraine. Responsibilities:

• Architecture and design of the technology created and maintained by the delivery team.
• Line manage the team, and optimise its structure to continuously deliver value to the business.
• Collaborate with the Head of Derivatives Trading on the direction of the application.
• Define roadmap and strategy with Head of Development and other development leads.
• Oversee projects to ensure they are run efficiently and delivered on time and on budget.
• Liaise with business users and BA/QAs; define business requirements and provide updates.
• Ensure production grade systems and proper documentation.
• Define software development best practices and processes; ensure they are followed.
• Lead the planning and breakdown of sprints and user stories. Provide demos for stakeholders and SMEs.
• Work with stakeholders to prioritise and prepare stores and bugs for sprint planning. Ensure stores are well-formed, testable deliverables that can be delivered iteratively with testable acceptance criteria.
• Resolving support issues in a professional and timely manner
• Foster cross-team collaboration and willingness to participate in cross-team shared initiatives (e.g., agreeing service and API contracts, contributing to common DevOps templates and reference architectures).

Skills and Experience:

• Strong full-stack JavaScript coding skills with NodeJS, TypeScript, ReactJS, jest, expressJS, GraphQL
• Able to preside over backend .NET development with C#.
• Basic level understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Terraform or equivalent.
• Building, distributing, and running applications using Docker images.
• Familiar with real-time messaging integration patterns with RabbitMQ, Kafka, Redis pub/sub or equivalent.
• Understanding of modern CI/CD and DevOps practices, and how to introduce them into the delivery workflow
• Agile and scrum development methodologies.
• Team leadership and ability to set the technical direction for a team.
• Application of software architecture and design principles and patterns and experience employing the right design choices for a given project.
• Relational and non-relational databases.
• Thought leadership, and the ability to oversee the introduction of new technologies, patterns or practices that benefit business outcomes.
• Team leadership and line management experience.
