The Team & The Role

As a Finance Business Partner (with a focus on costs) you will be part of our Finance Team and work directly with the FP&A Lead and Finance Business Partner (Rev), as well as working closely with the Accounting Function and CFO, to make sure Plum is in good financial health and well prepared for scale! 

Typical areas of focus will include: budgeting, forecasting, month end management reporting, financial analysis and business case modeling. The role will fit someone who is hands on, analytical and curious about how to build a business sustainably. 

What You Will Do

  • Build and maintain departmental cost budgets, analyze performance vs budget;
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, becoming a trusted strategic partner;
  • Partner with heads of departments on capacity planning and to identify optimal cost structures across the P&L;
  • Contribute to the financial modeling and budgeting process of Plum and provide input to aid in setting Plum’s financial strategy;
  • Support the partnership team and wider business to evaluate the economics and pricing for potential partnerships and ultimately inform business decisions;
  • Lead the month end process, including investor and partner reporting, quarterly board reporting and analyzing key risks and opportunities;
  • Support on periodic updating of the group’s ICARAs, recovery and wind-down plans;
  • Work with the data team to improve the accuracy of our forecasting; and
  • Embrace automation across all processes in FP&A.

What We Look For

  • You have an ACA/ CIMA/ CFA qualification or equivalent, with strong knowledge of accounting and finance fundamentals
  • You have at least 3 years of experience in FP&A or commercial finance
  • You have a strong analytical background, with a degree in Maths, Economics, Accounting, Business Analytics and/or Data
  • You have a strong working knowledge of Excel and financial modeling experience and are confident in setting up models and processes from scratch
  • You have great attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • You are hands on, driven and proactive; you take ownership of your work and can collaborate as a team player
  • Experience working with an accounting software, such as Xero, is a plus
  • Experience working in fintech is a plus

About the Role

In this critical role, you will be at the forefront of our financial efforts, overseeing the recognition of revenue in compliance with ASC 606 for our retailer revenue contracts. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will ensure accurate financial reporting and SOX-compliant controls. About the Role:

The Re-enablement & Recovery Manager is responsible for helping build a recovery framework for our Gusto products ensuring that customer retention is achieved while recouping funds. This individual will lead our Recovery team and help scale our processes for the future. About the Team:

The Payments and Risk team at Gusto ensures that our 300,000+ small and medium businesses and millions of their employees are getting paid on time, every time in a safe manner. You will be our Re-enablement & Recovery Manager and will position the team to scale by developing recovery/collections focused systems, processes and policies that are foundational to our payroll solutions. You will work closely with a team of Engineers and Designers, to build the roadmap, set strategic priorities, and ensure the successful implementation of our global risk stack. 

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Ownership:Act as the knowledge owner for processes and analytics for the Re-enablement & Recovery team. Identify existing and emerging risks and what opportunities we have to mitigate those risks, ensuring that the customer experience is at the forefront.
  • Lead:Empower 4 recovery specialists to do their best work, scaling the team with the focus of retention through recovery 
  • Collaborate:Work with engineering, product, other cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to drive action and development on a regular cadence to improve internal and external user experiences.
  • Innovate:Align with the product team on the go-to-market roadmap for new features and work with the Operations team to ensure that the Re-enablement & Recovery Solutions team is prepared to deliver an excellent customer experience for upcoming product and feature launches
  • Monitor and Cure Exposures:Highlight important themes in Risk systems for collections.  Scope and drive continual enhancements to our processes to identify and mitigate movement from exposure to severe delinquency
  • Data-Driven: Work with SQL and Excel / Google Sheets to monitor success of tools and solutions. Pull data, via self-service dashboards and SQL queries 
  • Drive Strategy and Change Management:Drive quarterly planning for the team, using all data and tools available to drive upstream solutions in the product and reduce operational and customer pain points resulting in increased scalability. 

Here’s what we're looking for:

  • Experience: 7-10 years of experience in Banking and/or Fintech fields with at least 3 years of experience in a supervisory/leadership role & 3 years of experience in a recovery, retention, and/or collections position.
  • Strategy: Ability to think strategically, identify areas of opportunity and influence change across the team  
  • Data-Focused:Have analytically managed collections with a view to retain customers. Demonstrated experience using data (through SQL, Excel or other data program) to create and/or improve recovery flows and improve the customer experience. Innovative and creative skills to pull and derive insights from data, collect and interpret feedback to solve problems and monitor solution results
  • Thought Process:  An insatiable appetite for operational excellence, knack for creative thinking, project and product management, ability to spot unusual patterns, and sharp attention to detail
  • Project/Product/Strategic Manager:Proven project management and process improvement skills, with demonstrated experience delivering on a deadline. Excellent time management skills and curiosity in product design. Strategic work across credit and collections policies

Our cash compensation amount for this role is $121,000/year to $144,000/yearinDenver. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.


Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 daysper week (or more depending on role). Your background:

  • Secondary education or higher, with a strong technical foundation.

  • Strong technical knowledge of networking, IT infrastructure, and/or cybersecurity.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage decision-makers and technical stakeholders at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

Security Assessment and Monitoring:

  •  Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and address potential security weaknesses in systems, networks, and applications.
  •  Monitor security logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.

Security Implementation and Configuration:

  • Assist in the design, implementation, and configuration of security controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, encryption tools, and access controls.
  •  Ensure that security measures are effectively integrated into the architecture and operation of IT systems.

Incident Response and Forensics:

  • Collaborate with incident response teams to investigate security breaches, malware infections, and other cyber incidents.
  • Conduct digital forensics analysis to determine the root cause of incidents and recommend remediation measures to prevent recurrence.

Policy Development and Compliance:

  • Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures based on industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable security frameworks such as NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP.

Security Awareness and Training:

  • Provide cybersecurity awareness training to employees and end users to promote good security practices and mitigate human-related risks.
  • Create educational materials and resources to support ongoing security awareness initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH, or GIAC.
  •  1-3 years of experience in cybersecurity roles, with hands-on experience in security assessment, monitoring, and incident response.
  •  Proficiency in security tools and technologies, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and network security appliances.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols, operating systems, and cloud computing environments.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interact with clients and stakeholders.

Software Development Engineer in Test

At Acquia, quality engineering drives the quality tool chain and process in an open and collaborative environment. To ensure that we have a repeatable process and systems to thoroughly test and uncover defects, quality engineering uses best of breed tools for automation and testing frameworks in conjunction with in-house tooling, infrastructure and services.  SDETs are embedded in each agile development team to facilitate and lead the testing strategy, and test automation requirements for every iteration and release. The quality engineering team also regularly meets to review and improve overall testing processes, automation, innovations and best practices. Each SDET works both independently and as part of a product group, where developers write tests and the quality engineering team supports the testing infrastructure and automation. In addition, they provide guidance for best practices and develop testing systems for smoke testing, behavioral testing, stress testing, performance testing, as well as supporting quality metrics.  

 

Our SDET is a strong voice for quality that actively pursues quality improvements, writing code, developing new infrastructure and tests to support our fast paced, highly diversified development organization.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work together with product managers, agile product owners, architects, tech leads and engineers to ensure the quality of our products
  • Participate in technical discussions for products and test infrastructure
  • Execute Quality best practices, tools, and methodologies
  • Identify areas for improved testing efficiencies, test automation and implementation of automated test solutions
  • Constantly evaluate the test automation strategy and approach to identify areas of improvement (i.e. test automation frameworks, coding standards, etc.)
  • Participate with developers in writing prolific test case code using Ruby, PHP, Java, Go, etc
  • Build and maintain efficient test frameworks and pipelines for performance, stress, and integration tests
  • Work in an agile model as part of a team to develop fully automated test cases for functional, unit, and integration testing
  • Take a hands-on approach to implementing QA processes right from requirements analysis, test design, implementation, automation, execution, maintenance and analysis

 

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of hands on experience working on QA automation including functional, system, integration and regression testing
  • Experience in developing test automation for Backend applications
  • Well versed with backend API automation, tools/framework development necessary for the same 
  • Strong hands on knowledge about testing concepts and understanding of database concepts, OOPs concepts 
  • Strong working knowledge of various test types including client/server, white-box, black-box and positive/negative
  • Solid test design skills, test case writing, automation and analysis
  • 1-3 years programming experience in any of the web languages (go, php, ruby, java) or equivalent
  • Experience with shell to utilize command line tools
  • Experience with continuous integration and build tools (i.e. Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, Travis)
  • LAMP (Linux Apache MySQL PHP) stack experience
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes/docker/containers

 

Nice to have:

  • Hands on experience with AWS/Azure/GCP/OpenStack
  • Familiarity with open source software
  • Linux OS system management experience
    • Ubuntu, RHEL, Amazon Linux, etc.
  • Operational knowledge of Drupal or any content management system in a production setting

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Participate in designing and implementing solutions for modernizing Acquia infrastructure and drive adoption of Kubernetes and Cloud-Native Technologies 
  • Design and implement end-to-end container management solution with Kubernetes, Docker
  • Design and develop Go based Kubernetes operators using the kube-builder SDK
  • Set up Kubernetes as a platform with enterprise-level reliability, availability, scalability and performance requirements 
  • Support engineering teams to design and implement application prototypes, using modern application development practices and open source emerging technologies, covering domains like microservices, API management, web-scale architectures 
  • Debug technical issues inside a very deep and complex technical stack involving containers, microservices, AWS services across the different layers of a web stack (Edge, Data, etc.)
  • Contribute as part of a larger team to maintain a deep understanding of system functionality and architecture, with a primary focus on the operational aspects of the service (availability, performance, change management, emergency response, capacity planning, etc) 
  • Evaluate new technologies and provide a recommendation to management including planning and execution of proof of concept activities. 

Requirement: 

  • 5+ years of experience in design and Software Development Background and over 1-2 years of experience in working with Containers and Cloud-Native Development 
  • Proficient with Kubernetes/Swarm architecture with hands-on production experience with container technologies and the tools and challenges around them 
  • Experience in developing applications using programming languages such as Go, Python, PHP, Ruby and shell scripting
  • Design and develop Go based Kubernetes operators using the kube-builder SDK
  • Proficient with object oriented programming and Software design patterns
  • Proficient with service discovery, networking in Kubernetes or equivalent, monitoring, logging, scheduling
  • Experience in container architecture, docker engine, runtime, container orchestration, and microservice patterns 
  • Experience working with AWS services such as - EC2, EBS, ALB, ECS, EKS, VPC, S3 
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins (preferred), Bamboo, Gitlab 
  • Experience working with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet and Cloudformation 
  • Experience operating with TCP/IP, load balancing, security and operating production environments
  • Strong Knowledge on the network layers, varnish and nginx
  • Experience with distributed System Management/tracking and monitoring such as ELK Stack, Prometheus
  • Strong oral and written communication skills 
  • Strong team collaboration and leadership skills 
  • Familiarity with Agile processes (Kanban, Scrum, etc.) 

Good to have: 

  • Networking experience (configuring TLS Certificates, reverse-proxies, subnetting, L4/L7 load-balancing configuration)
  • Linux administration (troubleshooting workloads in a linux-based hosting environment, bonus in Kubernetes)
  • PHP, Ruby, Golang or any C-based programming experience
  • Helm chart development and Kustomize development for deploying Kubernetes workloads
  • Hands-on experience working with metrics and creating dashboards (Prometheus/Sumologic/Splunk etc) 
  • Hands-on experience configuring and deploying nginx and/or nginx-ingress-controller as reverse proxy
  • Strong understanding of L.A.M.P. stack hosting model

Qualifications: 

  • BS in Computer Science (preferred), or a comparable field of study, or equivalent practical experience
