  • Research advanced income tax issues.

  • Build relationships with team members across StockX to ensure the Tax team is effectively partnering with various internal teams.
  • Partner with business leaders and work cross functionally with finance, treasury, legal, and external advisors to provide income tax advice and guidance.
  • Provide regular and insightful communications to management regarding the evolving income tax and digital tax landscape and impacts to the business.
  • Responsible for reviewing all income tax filings and quarterly/annual provision calculations.

  • 12+ years of relevant tax experience in a corporate environment, public accounting firm or major law firm.

What you'll do

  • “Triage” customs and trade issues that have arisen the evening before, during the day, prioritize tasks and complete
  • Be the lead for intra company global shipments 
  • Take ownership of auditing import and export Customs declarations, Tariff Codes, Incoterms, etc. and following related record keeping processes
  • Work closely with the sites, team members, freight forwarders, and Customs Brokers to correct any anomalies to minimize import/export shipment delays due to Customs compliance issues, including possible training
  • Ability to review the product catalog to identify and action any possible Customs compliance constraints
  • Monitor cost-effectiveness and performance metrics, established with the Customs team, of freight forwarders and Customs brokers
  • Advise any deficiencies, make Customs training recommendations when gaps are discovered, and identify areas for structural, organizational, and process improvement within our organization.
  • With the direction and support of the North American Customs Compliance Manager and Director of Global Trade & Compliance, support the development of the global Customs program and all related policies/procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, statutes, and regulations across the StockX global network.
  • Documenting potential Customs issues and being able to communicate with your leader, team members, Operations, Finance, and other parties as deemed relevant
  • Providing monthly reporting of internal Customs audits of Customs clearance reports and annual recurrent site audit reviews
  • Establish transparency and maintain urgency in meeting monthly goals
  • Identify opportunities to continue to build the efficiency of the Customs team
  • Occasional travel to StockX regional facilities or, if applicable, StockX headquarters (Detroit, Michigan, USA)

In the Search & Recommendation team, we work together to productionalize custom machine-learning models that can drive product vision and customer impact at scale. We are looking for MLE who are product driven, and are passionate about making ML innovations in areas such as; Ranking, Optimization, Natural Language Processing, Information Retrieval, Graph Learning, Reinforcement Learning to help improve the StockX buyer/seller experience!

Example Projects:

  • Develop embeddings to collect salient signals of our customers, product, and user interactions.
  • Extract real-time signals and multi-modality data (i.e, content and image) from our 5M+ product catalog images and 1M+ listings. Understand semantic content, aesthetic style, materials for retrieval, ranking and optimization.
  • Build a real-time, in-session personalization recommendation system.
  • Implement and compare supervised learning models (i.e, LR, GBDT, and DNNs) or ensembles of models, to improve metrics, often with multiple contending objectives (i.e, relevance, degree of personalization, average value of orders, repeated frequencies/purchases).
  • Develop models with custom architecture or objective functions that target StockX-specific problems, such as recommendation system, personalized search, revenue optimization, seller fairness, seasonality, etc.
  • Develop brand-new learning frameworks for query suggestions to understand buyer experience.

What you'll do

  • Apply the latest advances in deep learning and machine learning to improve buyer and seller experiences on StockX.
  • Prototype, optimize, and productionize large-scale ML models that help deliver key results in search experience.
  • Conduct A/B experiments to validate ML models and pipelines.
  • Work closely with product managers, Data scientists/engineers, full-stack engineers, and designers on product teams to deliver content to tens of millions of users.

About you

  • Experience with object-oriented or functional software development.
  • Experience working with AWS or other cloud providers.
  • Experience with big data platforms like Spark or Databricks.
  • Experience with machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or MXNet.
  • You have dealt with data exploration, analysis, and feature engineering.
  • You have relentlessly high standards for the products you deliver.
  • Work effectively in an agile development process.
  • You have a postgraduate degree in Computer Science or related engineering fields plus 1+ machine learning experience, or 3+ years of practical machine learning experience.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker for productionalizing models.

  • Maps and charts the global network distribution model including inbound sources, fulfillment and storage facilities, operations and staffing, transportation flows, and customer services.
  • Strategically plan multi-year MHE automation design. 
  • Oversee delivery of GFN Capital Projects; Provides governance and oversight for large capital projects. Implement industry automation best practices and technologies. 
  • Reviews and analyzes material handling equipment and systems, recommends changes and improvements that increase productivity and contributes to overall cost efficiency.
  • Develops and maintains performance and quality statistics, assisting operational teams in problem solving and decision making, and promoting development of continuous improvement methods.
  • Designs and develops new facilities, process or system layouts, production operations, and implementation of material handling systems including cost justifications and budgeting.
  • Reviews and analyzes operations to determine the best flow of information and materials within and between departments, across the global distribution network and supply chain.  Identifies and provides supporting data for business risks and strategic opportunities.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains systems which contribute to effective information management across the global distribution network.
  • Collaborates with leadership to identify and develop project planning strategies, define requirements, scopes, and objectives.
  • Oversees the recommendation, selection, and management of vendors and the procurement of third party logistics (3PL) and production equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

About you

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred in management science, industrial, mechanical, or chemical engineering.
  • More than 10 years of experience
  • Previous experience within a distribution/fulfillment center strongly desired
  • Strong analytical, project, and product management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business/operational needs and translate them into operational process requirements. 
  • Accountability for ideas from inception to delivery, in an environment that requires robust metrics to confirm success.
  • Proven track record of successfully achieving priorities and accomplishing objectives.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and other project and product management software, data analytics and modeling skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Slack, and other common basic office software.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management & Control Systems (WMS/WCS) requiredehouse Management & Control Systems (WMS/WCS) required.
