We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Analyst with a focus on Operations Research to join our fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, modeling experience, and the ability to navigate ambiguity while delivering actionable insights. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping strategic decisions through advanced modeling and analysis.

You will play a crucial role in extracting actionable insights from our data to drive informed decision-making. This role is particularly focused on operations research themes within supply chain, modeling, and conducting comprehensive analyses to optimize our processes and enhance overall efficiency. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Apply operations research methodologies to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization, as well as enhance operational efficiency. 
  • Utilize statistical techniques to analyze large datasets and extract meaningful insights.
  • Develop and implement modeling to support business decision making based on stakeholder-driven requirements. 
  • Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop reports and dashboards to monitor and communicate business performance.
  • Tackle complex business challenges using data driven approaches, and be prepared to defend your opinion on recommendations.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Intermediate SQL & Python/R Required
  • Proven experience (2+ years) in a data analyst role, with a focus on operations research and modeling.
  • Experience in applied statistics and communicating results to a lay audience
  • Demonstrable track record of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results  
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with machine learning algorithms

  • Spreadsheet modeling skills including charts, graphs, pivot tables, etc. with both Google Sheets and Excel required 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in reporting automation and data visualization (i.e. SQL, Python, Looker, Tableau, etc.) and financial planning tools (i.e. Vareto, Netsuite, Adaptive, TM1, etc.) BigQuery is a plus. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Statistics/Data Science or equivalent experience required
  • Proven ability to create financial and operational models with an understanding in Enterprise SaaS/Usage-based models and operational metrics
  • Experience with exit transactions and liquidity events such IPO, M&A, private fundraising, etc. preferred

    • Revamp corporate long-range model and develop a deep understanding of functional business inputs and SaaS drivers that influence the financial model

Within 90 days you’ll 

    • Have had a few wins and shorter term projects completed and be well integrated into the business - with plans for longer term strategic goals in place
    • Own corporate long range model and develop MRP model with scenarios of potential transaction events 
    • Create a standard process from 0-1 on data foundation and reporting automation 
    • Enhance cost and revenue predictability with new models 
    • Become a trusted teammate across the Strategic Finance and Accounting orgs, and various exec leader

The Cloud Operations Engineer is responsible for designing and delivering secure and highly available solutions. You will be a critical part of a team focused on ensuring our services are ready and stress tested. You should be comfortable taking on new challenges, defining potential solutions and implementing designs in a team environment. You will be working on a tech stack composed of Linux, Kubernetes, PHP, Java, MySQL, Kafka, Jenkins, Github and AWS/GCP.

What You Will Accomplish

  • The Cloud Operations Engineer partners closely with Engineering and Support. We are responsible for the deployment, and continuous operation of the Acquia platform. 
  • You will make sure we automate as many tasks as possible to make diagnostics, scaling, healing and deployments a breeze.
  • You will work on a team responsible for a blend of architecture, automation, development, and application administration.
  • You will develop and deploy solutions from the infrastructure, to the network, and application layers, on public cloud platforms.
  • You will ensure our SaaS platform is available and performing, and that we can notice problems before our customers.
  • You will collaborate with Support and Engineering on customer issues, as needed.
  • Working with distributed data infrastructure, including containerization and virtualization tools, to enable unified engineering and production environments;
  • Developing dashboards, monitors, and alerts to increase situational awareness of the state of our production issues/sla/security incidents.
  • Independently conceiving and implementing ways to improve development efficiency, code reliability, and test fidelity.
  • You will participate in a periodic on-call rotation

Qualifications 

  • Proficient in Unix/Linux OS administration
  • Proficient with network setup and debugging
  • Proficientwith at least one scripting language (Bash, Python, PHP, …)
  • Proficientknowledge withpublic cloud providers such as AWS, GCP or Azure
  • Understands Kubernetes
  • Understands application containerization
  • Basic understanding of SQL and relational database administration (MySQL)
  • A Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or experience in software engineering or a related field

Your Qualifications

What You’ll Do

Execute data migration project implementation to ensure successful customer deployment and adoption of Egnyte solutions

Act as liaison between customers and internal teams for monitoring, reporting and level 1 troubleshooting of migration jobs

Engage with customers and internal team to provide status and escalate issues

Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects with strict deadlines

Communicate professionally and succinctly and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

 

COMPENSATION:
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across multiple U.S. geographic locations, and pay varies based on defined markets. The standard base pay range for this position across the U.S. is $130k - $145k annually. Pay varies by work location and may also be dependent on job-related skills, knowledge, and/or experience. About the Role

This is a general posting for multiple Sr. Data Science roles open across our 4-sided marketplace. You’ll get the chance to learn about the different problems the Data Science team solves as you go through the process. Towards the end of your process, we’ll do a team-matching exercise to determine which of the open roles/teams you’ll join. You can find a blurb on each team at the bottom of this page. 

With regards to level, we have flexibility. Your level will be determined by your education, years of experience, and most importantly, how you perform throughout the interview process. If you're targeting a senior title, you'll need to prove to the team that you're operating at that level. 

 

About the Team

You will be joining a growing data science team and will tackle some of the most challenging and impactful problems that are transforming how people buy groceries every day. You will be embedded within our data-driven product team as a trusted partner in uncovering barriers in the product’s usability and utilize these insights to inform product improvements that drive angle-changing growth. We’re looking for a self-driven, strategic thinker who can hit the ground running to ultimately influence decision-making across the entire organization.

 

ABOUT THE JOB

  • Own analytical frameworks that guide the product roadmap
  • Design rigorous experiments and interpret results to draw detailed and actionable conclusions
  • Develop statistical models to extract trends, measure results, and predict future performance of our product
  • Build simulations to project impact of various product and policy interventions
  • Enable objective decision making across the company by democratizing data through dashboards and other analytical tools
  • Use expertise in causal inference, machine learning, complex systems modeling, behavioral decision theory etc. to shape the future of Instacart
  • Present findings in a compelling way to influence Instacart’s leadership

 

ABOUT YOU

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6+ years experience working in a quantitative role at a product company or a research organization
  • Ability to run rigorous experiments and come up with scientifically sound recommendations
  • Ability to write complex, efficient, and eloquent SQL queries to extract data
  • Ability to write efficient and eloquent code in Python or R
  • A desire to build and improve consumer software products
  • Ability to translate business needs into analytical frameworks
  • Eagerness to learn, flexibility to pivot when needed, savviness to navigate and thrive in a dynamic environment, and a growth mindset needed to build a successful team and company

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Awareness of business trade offs when working on a multi-sided marketplace 
  • Confidence in collaborating with and influencing cross-functional stakeholders (i.e. Product, Engineering), at a senior level

Growth & Marketing Tech

Instacart's marketing data science team serves as thought partners and problem solvers for the Growth and Marketing orgs, supporting our broader mission to give everyone access to the food they love. We are responsible for understanding the end to end scope of growth marketing, including how marketing shapes and impacts customer behavior both today and in the long run, the efficiency and performance of any marketing technology we utilize, and what the highest ROI investments are in both marketing and marketing technology. We synthesize our insights and knowledge into actionable tactics, optimizations, and strategy within marketing.

Marketplace Balancing & Coordination

We are looking for an experienced data scientist with a background in complex and dynamic marketplace problems. The successful candidate will take on a leading role working on Instacart’s core marketplace problems including shopper pay and incentives, marketplace balancing, and experimentation. The role will partner with senior product managers and engineers to tackle analytical, experimental, and inferential problems to understand and expand the efficient frontiers of a balanced, sustainable, and resilient multi-sided marketplace.

New Bets

The New Bets Data Science team exists to provide data-driven insights and strategic guidance around Instacart’s most promising emerging initiatives, collectively known as "new bets”. About the Role

 

We are looking for an exceptional Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to help build and manage robust data models, leverage data visualization tools to create dashboards, and partner closely with cross functional teams to design data solutions needed to enable financial reporting and operations. 

 

About the Team

 

You will be joining the Financial Systems Analytics team, which sits within the Finance department at Instacart. This team is responsible for ensuring financial data is accessible, complete, accurate, and timely for downstream consumers. As part of the team, you will be a key contributor in enabling financial data reporting, analysis, and other critical business operations within Instacart.  

 

About the Job

  • Build and regularly maintain data pipelines and models critical to Instacart’s business operation, including those used for financial reporting and analysis 
  • Partner closely with Accounting, Strategic Finance, Data Science, and other teams across the company to understand their most complex problems and develop effective data solutions, including definition and development of supporting data models and architecture
  • Contribute to the optimization, documentation, testing, and tooling efforts aimed at improving data quality and empowering data consumers across the organization
  • Regularly communicate progress, risks, and completion of projects with stakeholders, teammates, and management
  • Work closely with the Product, Data Engineering, and Business Development teams to stay current on the latest product rollouts and their data and financial impacts
  • Promote and drive a self-service data culture by developing self-service data models, building easy-to-use tools and dashboards, and teaching business users how to use them

 

About You

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in BI, Data Science, or Data engineering
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • AdvancedSQL experience and dashboard building
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize work and deliver finished products on tight deadlines
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate with cross-functional teams, gather information, perform root cause analysis, and recommend solutions to business problems
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm for Instacart, your team, partners, and stakeholders

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with: Snowflake/Databricks/BigQuery or similar data warehouses, DBT/Apache Airflow or similar orchestration tools, Github, and Jira

  • Understanding of financial concepts, common accounting practices, and system solutions
  • Exposure to SOX compliance best practices, including practical applications and experience with ITGCs
