About the opportunity

Homeward is looking for a General Manager (III) to proactively manage and oversee  a large portfolio of homes held in inventory. This position, which includes P&L ownership, is responsible for making both reactive and proactive decisions to drive profitability to the portfolio and mitigate inventory losses on individual properties. The GM will be required to make adjustments to a property's listing strategy and execution, ensure all homes held meet our listing quality standards, and approve spend on renovations, repairs and property maintenance. Success in this role means you are selling off a majority of homes for a profit and in a timely manner, while minimizing any homes that sell for a loss. This is a strategic and cross functional role that works with a variety of teams in sales, operations and finance. 

In this role, you will:

  • Report directly into the VP of Finance
  • Own a portfolio of Homeward’s inventory, which may encompass multiple products, regions and partners. 
  • Responsible for a property from the point it exits option period, through to its sale on the market
  • P&L ownership for a portfolio of inventory; responsible for staying close to each property held and ensuring that expenses are closely managed to hit profitability targets
  • Remain close to an extensive portfolio of properties to regularly review risk levels, while paying close attention to riskier files
  • Sign off on purchase offers Homeward makes to ensure that we are taking a balanced approach to our overall inventory risk level, and provide regular feedback to the business
  • Develop strong muscle for effective selling strategies across different property types and markets
  • Become an SME on Homeward’s inventory management playbook, and be able to proactively address at-risk files by tailoring the approach to the individual property and circumstances
  • Direct financial outcomes to inform the right course of action to be taken on individual properties, with the goal out maximizing profitability
  • Display excellent cross-functional collaboration with partners across Deals Desk and Operations teams
  • Ability to guide and direct Operations partners to ensure proper listing execution, escalated market sale decisioning, and action plan implementation
  • Ensure our Operations teams are driving tight timelines across various stages of the transaction lifecycle, including: closing on new homes, getting homes listed for sale on the market, under contract and sold, and moving quickly through make-ready and repairs throughout

What you’ll bring:

  • 5-7+ years of experience, ideally at a startup or other fast-paced environment, in real estate, and/or owning a P&L in real estate
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous or uncertain environments
  • Demonstrated ability to understand financial statements, run analyses and make data-backed decision
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to unify high-performing cross-functional teams around meaningful outcomes
  • Outstanding project management and stakeholder management abilities

About the opportunity

The Valuations Team is a critical part of Homeward’s risk mitigation strategy, responsible for quickly and accurately valuing the homes associated with every transaction, while actively managing the duration and quality risk of Homeward’s entire portfolio of homes. Their charter is to maximize Homeward’s Customer approval conversion, while maintaining a strong line of defense for our risk exposure - a challenging but important needle to thread.

As part of the team, you’ll be responsible for reviewing market data and making comparable home selections to predict home sales prices. The role will include regular analysis of historical valuation accuracy and coordination with our network of in-market agents to obtain price opinions that drive home value analysis, ultimately ensuring that Homeward accurately estimates the sale value of its customer’s existing homes and avoids overpaying for new homes. 

This position will challenge your ability to balance risk mitigation with conversion optimization, and will require you to implement evolving complex operational processes. 

Note: This is a temporary, full-time, three-month, hourly position and will require weekend availability.

In this role, you will:

  • Perform pricing evaluations for residential real estate properties, ensuring adherence to our accuracy and turnaround time requirements.
  • Working independently, while effectively prioritizing tasks with competing deadlines
  • Coordinating with vendors that provide key valuations data and analytics
  • Reviewing inspection reports
  • Collaborating with other operations and sales teams to ensure we deliver a high quality customer experience
  • Identify risk factors associated with a property and quantify the estimated exposure

What you'll bring:

  • 3+ years of residential real estate experience, preferably as an analyst, agent or property inspector

About the opportunity:

Homeward’s Agent Trainer will educate agents and partners on how to use Homeward's cash offer product effectively. You are passionate about real estate sales, home ownership, and coaching agents on how to do more transactions with unique tools.  You understand the real estate space and are comfortable conversing not only with Agents and Brokers but with Buyers and Sellers alike.  You enjoy teaching, speaking, and sales.

The ultimate goal is to ensure agents and partners are aware of and consider Homeward as their #1 cash offer option. You’ll be able to maximize the benefits of our platform by delivering feedback, in order to confidently start sending deals through our system.

About the opportunity

This role will work on providing support to core teams including Operations, Sales, Finance, and Product. This role will involve analyzing key areas within these teams, developing metrics, and building standardized reporting, while maintaining and driving meaningful, clean, and concise data while we continue to scale. What you’ll bring:

  • 4+ years of proven experience in analytics, business intelligence or comparable role; preference for experience within high-growth startups

  • Knowledge of ETL and tools (dbt preferred)

About the opportunity

As an Escrow Assistant at Homeward Title, you will be responsible for processing escrow files from order opening to ensuring all information and documentation is obtained, which is necessary for the transaction's closing. The ideal candidate will have experience working in Texas.. 

Note: This role is atemporary, full-time position that is expected to last 120 days, with a possibility to convert to permanent status.

In this role, you will

  • Work independently on a variety of different transaction types, including cash, loan and refinance transactions.
  • Move seamlessly between multiple states/markets and understand the closing and title nuances of each
  • Open new escrow files in the appropriate closing software and obtain all necessary documentation for the closing in a timely manner, including HOA docs, mortgage payoffs, customer information, etc.
  • Work closely with real estate brokers, lenders, HOAs, escrow officers, etc to effectively communicate what is needed for closing
  • Review title commitments for accuracy and completeness to ensure all curative requirements are satisfied.
  • Solve complex title issues with the help of the escrow officer and title department
  • Ability to multitask, concentrate, and focus under pressure during interrupted workflow and changing schedules and needs using multiple forms of technology in a start-up environment.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Timely, thorough, coordinated, and eloquent communication with all of the parties involved in every transaction, < 1 hour expected response time via email and phone calls
  • Have the ability to work overtime, as requested.

About the Opportunity

We're seeking an Associate Product Manager, Fulfillment to join us in delivering on our mission of building a simpler, more streamlined and customer-centric home buying and selling experience.

In this role, you will: 

  • Deliver a seamless transaction experience by working closely with the Transaction Fulfillment development team.

About the opportunity

The Valuations Team is a critical part of Homeward’s risk mitigation strategy, responsible for quickly and accurately valuing the homes associated with every transaction, while actively managing the duration and quality risk of Homeward’s entire portfolio of homes. Their charter is to maximize Homeward’s Customer approval conversion, while maintaining a strong line of defense for our risk exposure - a challenging but important needle to thread.

As part of the team, you’ll be responsible for reviewing market data and making comparable home selections to predict home sales prices. The role will include regular analysis of historical valuation accuracy and coordination with our network of in-market agents to obtain price opinions that drive home value analysis, ultimately ensuring that Homeward accurately estimates the sale value of its customer’s existing homes and avoids overpaying for new homes. 

This position will challenge your ability to balance risk mitigation with conversion optimization, and will require you to implement evolving complex operational processes. 

 

Note: This is a TEMPORARY, PART-TIME, three-month, hourly position and will require weekend availability.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Conducting residential real estate value estimates within established turn times and accuracythresholds
  • Working independently, while effectively prioritizing tasks with competing deadlines

About the opportunity

At Homeward, the Staff Accountant plays a critical role in entering and reconciling Homeward’s accounting entries and reconciliation by project (home purchases and home sales), to evaluate the balance sheet and income statement for each of the homes, and to communicate frequently and timely with the Homeward Transactions team and others on the accounting team to ensure cross-functional alignment. This role will report to an Accounting Senior Accountant. This role will require the use of skills in high attention to detail, organization, and timely and frequent communication. This role will be fast-paced, exciting, and collaborative, and requires someone who enjoys staying busy while also remaining calm and friendly with others during the demands of Homeward’s high-growth business.

Responsibilities include

  • Entering and reviewing real estate transaction entries into Netsuite Accounting System.
  • Reconciling real estate transactions between Salesforce and Netsuite.
  • Exporting details into Excel to analyze and compare data in order to find and solve discrepancies.
  • Investigating discrepancies of real estate transaction entries by following up with the operations team for more information and supporting documents.
  • Monthly, preparing robust reconciliations of credit facilities debt and interest activity and balances, and communicating frequently with credit facility contacts regarding any discrepancies identified.
  • Frequently comparing data between multiple systems and sources.
  • Communicating frequently and timely with others on the accounting team, providing additional insight in the real estate transaction entries, or responding to inquiries and assisting with various accounting tasks.
  • Help advise on banking transactions (deposits and payments) related to the real estate transactions being monitored in this role.
  • As needed, assist in other accounting tasks and month-end close financial reporting and reconciliations.
  • As needed, assist with banking transactions and escrow account movements, as a back up when another team-member is out of office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 2+ years working experience in Accounting.
  • A love for collaborating with others.
  • Ability to communicate frequently, timely, and effectively with multiple individuals and teams.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and professionalism under pressure.
  • Great organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail.

About the opportunity

As an Escrow Assistant at Homeward Title, you will be responsible for processing escrow files from order opening to ensuring all information and documentation is obtained, which is necessary for the transaction's closing. The ideal candidate will have experience working across most East Coast states, including Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina. 

 

Note: This role is atemporary, full-time position that is expected to last 120 days, with a possibility to convert to permanent status.



In this role, you will

  • Work independently on a variety of different transaction types, including cash, loan and refinance transactions.
  • Move seamlessly between multiple states/markets and understand the closing and title nuances of each
  • Open new escrow files in the appropriate closing software and obtain all necessary documentation for the closing in a timely manner, including HOA docs, mortgage payoffs, customer information, etc.
  • Work closely with real estate brokers, lenders, HOAs, escrow officers, etc to effectively communicate what is needed for closing
  • Review title commitments for accuracy and completeness to ensure all curative requirements are satisfied.

  • Ability to multitask, concentrate, and focus under pressure during interrupted workflow and changing schedules and needs using multiple forms of technology in a start-up environment.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Timely, thorough, coordinated, and eloquent communication with all of the parties involved in every transaction, < 1 hour expected response time via email and phone calls

About the opportunity

Are you a strategic thinker with a talent for balancing risk vs. reward and a track record of taking real estate operations teams to the next level? The Director of Real Estate Valuations will run the department that values and underwrites Homeward’s properties swiftly, accurately, and efficiently. 

The Valuations team is an internal function that equips Sales and Customer Experience to deliver a world class experience to agents and customers. They accomplish this by assessing market values and reviewing inspection reports to make holistic recommendations on contract prices and/or potential repairs. 

In partnership with Finance and C-Suite, The Director of Real Estate Valuations will be responsible for setting a vision for real estate valuations that balances sales conversion with financial risk, and executing that vision with process and tech development, reporting, and people leadership of the Valuations team. This role will report into the Senior Director of Transaction Operations.

 

In this role you will

  • Oversee Valuations Team and manage Homeward’s risk on properties we own at any given time, team SLAs, and OpEx efficiency
  • Enhance and cultivate a world-class property underwriting department by implementing innovative strategies, fostering a culture of excellence, and investing in the professional development of team members.
  • Generate comprehensive market insights and identify emerging trends to be reported to senior leaders, collaborating closely to implement tailored pricing strategies for each quarter.
  • Partner with multiple orgs within Homeward to help deliver a world class customer experience
  • Provide regular, insightful updates about Valuations’ performance to larger Ops and Finance stakeholder groups
  • Iterate with cross-functional leaders on process & policy enhancements to reduce risk and improve scalability, and create strong feedback loop with team to execute ongoing learnings and changes
  • Partner with Digital Product to create robust yet extremely efficient tech-enabled processes, reporting/dashboards, and data capture, leveraging automation where possible
  • Make decisions on escalated file requests, including values for high-risk properties, potential denials, and challenging inspection-related items
  • Partner with Mortgage Appraisals and Finance to stay up to date on regulatory and creditor guidelines related to property approvals
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of how our Homeward products relate to real estate contracts and industry best practices
  • Host weekly team meetings and 1-1 meetings with each team member
  • Manage the teams' schedules to ensure adequate coverage seven days a week
  • Serve as primary point of contact for key vendors, such as our BPO Vendor
  • Continuously monitor and manage the buy box to ensure a balanced perspective on growth and risk, prioritizing strategic weighting to optimize outcomes.
  • Effectively manage team Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure timely delivery of services and uphold performance standards, fostering accountability and efficiency within the department.

About the Opportunity

About the role:

The Senior Manager of Customer Experience manages all of the Homebuying Customer Experience Teams at Homeward. This role will be directly responsible for implementing and tracking the KPIs, quality, and turn time metrics for these teams.  

The role will include collaboration with Sales, Transaction Operations, Financial Product, & Technology teams to ensure we deliver excellent fulfillment experiences for all Homeward products on which this team works. This role will own the performance management and development of the roles within this department including skills like customer service, communication, Real Estate acumen across multiple states, detailed contract management, and more. This role will also partner closely with Title and Mortgage leadership to ensure the teams are working together seamlessly. This role manages teams that are key advocates of the Customer and their Agent. Managing deliverables, expectations, and being a constant guide for both the Customer and Agent through the customer journey is a tall order, but critical for the Customer’s success. This person will ensure our Customer and their Agent know what needs to happen and will partner in problem solving any challenges that arise along the home buying process. 

In this role, you will:

  • Manage and upskill the Transaction Success and Support Team Leads to ensure a quality customer experience.
  • Assist in and coordinate the ongoing training efforts for transaction experience team members
  • Collaborate with functional leaders within Homeward’s sales, operations, mortgage, finance, and product teams to develop a fully integrated transaction management and closing experience
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of company products, services, and policies, effectively communicating updates to team members.
  • Design and implement processes, procedures, and systems architecture to meet business needs.
  • Create reports and dashboards within Salesforce for team and management use, monitoring key metrics and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Ensure team members are trained to review every request accurately and efficiently, in alignment with Homeward’s terms and requirements.

About the opportunity

Homeward is looking for a Senior Accountant to be the primary reviewer of Homeward’s accounting entries and reconciliation by project (home purchases and home sales), to evaluate the balance sheet and income statement for each of the homes, and to communicate frequently and timely with the Homeward Transactions team to ensure cross-functional alignment. This role will report to an Accounting Manager and will supervise two accounting associates. This role will require the use of skills in high attention to detail, organization, and timely and frequent communication. This role will be fast-paced, exciting, and collaborative, and requires someone who enjoys staying busy while also remaining calm and friendly with others during the demands of Homeward’s high-growth business.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

In this role you will be:

  • Efficiently reviewing all home purchase and home sale statements on a daily to weekly cadence, and reconcile to the corresponding accounting entries for recording accuracy and completeness.
  • Reviewing the Balance Sheet report and Income Statement report in Netsuite, for each project (home sale), to ensure all items are expensed accurately and completely upon the closing of the project. Help make corrections to the entries for the project, in order to keep the balance sheet and income statement clean for each project.
  • Asking questions from various accounting team members, your supervisor, or other teams/departments for any information deemed missing, or unclear.
  • Investigating discrepancies of accounting entries by creating searches and reports in Netsuite, and/or exporting to analyze accounting transaction details with Excel, in order to identify and solve discrepancies.
  • Monitoring daily progress of the Homeward Transaction team (non-accounting team that helps close the home sale transactions) to be sure all project/home data is populated timely in the system in order for the accounting team to review and reconcile. 
  • Proactively and consistently provide feedback and review comments to two associates who enter the home purchase and home sales transactions for each project. This is particularly important for identifying any errors or delays.
  • Consistently respond to questions via email or slack messenger actively and timely.
  • Other accounting team projects as necessary, which will require the same skills outlined below.

What you’ll bring

  • 3+ years experience with accounting transactions and reports.
  • Must possess a high degree of accuracy in work; detail-oriented.
  • Excellent timeliness, responsiveness, and interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Organizational skills to be able to easily track multiple tasks, questions, and responses.
  • Demonstrated the ability to calmly manage multiple requests, and prioritize them well while maintaining a great attitude during tight deadlines.
  • Solution-oriented approach to research and problem-solving, preferring to place focus on the best way to solve problems rather than focusing only on the problems themselves
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel: the ability to do vlookups, sumifs, pivot tables, sort and filter well, display information concisely and with high readability. You have consistently demonstrated the ability to use excel effectively to assist in analyzing data.
  • Prior experience in real estate transactions is highly preferred (familiarity with a HUD/closing disclosure). 
  • Prior experience with working for a company with many subsidiaries would be preferred.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or finance or equivalent is preferred

About the opportunity

The Homeward Mortgage Team is central to Homeward’s operation, responsible for conducting the financial review and approval of every customer that works with Homeward and processing and closing every loan secured with Homeward Mortgage. We’re focused on bringing financial innovations to life and delivering a seamlessly integrated mortgage experience. We are looking for residential Mortgage subject matter experts and smart, flexible people that can easily adapt to a new way of doing things. 

As part of the Loan Processing team, you’ll be ensuring that Homeward’s customers move quickly and efficiently through the mortgage transaction ensuring all items are met to ensure timely closings. You’ll be chartered with delivering an exceptional Borrower and Agent experience, and coordinating fluently with your Loan Officer and the rest of the Homeward Mortgage Operation. This position will challenge your ability to manage complex operational processes while working cross-functionally with other teams including product, engineering, and customer experience among others.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Note: This is a Monday-Friday temporary, full time position for up to 6 months with the possibility of becoming permanent.

 

In this role, you will

  • Process agency conforming, FHA, VA, and jumbo residential mortgage loans
  • Manage and close a pipeline of loans while building strong relationships with lending partners
  • Clearly communicate status updates, conditions, and any critical information to internal teams and customers
  • Partner and align closely to support your Loan Officer in delivering an exceptional Borrower and Agent experience
  • Collaborate with internal teams to creatively solution for challenging underwriting scenarios
  • Proactively interact with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely closings
  • Work with multiple investors

What you’ll bring

  • 3+ years of experience processing FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA and Non-Conforming (Jumbo) mortgages, wholesale experience a plus
  • Expert knowledge of DU and LP and the purchase mortgage process
  • Experience with delegated and non-delegated processes
  • Superior customer services skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to take complex mortgage specific terminology and translate into layman terms
  • Strong time-management and project management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high production environment
  • The drive to build something new
  • Experience working with multiple investors (PennyMac, Amerihome, PHL etc. is a plus)

Pay and benefits

  • Compensation range: $65,000 - $70,000 paid hourly + per file bonuses
  • Remote-first environment (our Headquarters are in Austin, TX, come visit!)

About the opportunity

As part of the Homeward Support Team, you’ll be on the front lines to ensure our customers and agents have an amazing experience with Homeward. We are seeking team members with a strong desire to provide incredible customer service. This role will partner with cross functional teams to ensure the agents and customers have answers to their questions during peak work hours in addition to off hours.  

We are building a team to ensure our partners and clients are taken care of around the clock. We know how exciting buying a home is; let’s make sure we make it the best experience possible! 

Note: This is a temporary, full-time, three-month, hourly position and will require weekend availability. This team works 7 days a week 8 am - 8 pm in all active markets.  This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

In this role you will:

  • Answer and route incoming calls from the Homeward main line from 8AM to 8PM in all active markets.  
  • During normal business hours, route calls to the appropriate team member. 
  • During evening and weekend shifts, handle calls as needed to get the customer answers while other team members are out of the office.  
  • Become an expert in all Homeward processes to be able to support agents and customers. 
  • Proficient understanding of Salesforce to provide necessary support of contract management
  • Strong ability to read and understand contracts and Homeward offer instructions for states assigned. 
  • Review incoming contracts to ensure accuracy and work with agents to correct any items needed while providing excellent service.  
  • Work within internal systems to ensure the customer is approved for the offer their agent has submitted prior to signing.  
  • Review & Sign all incoming contracts and amendments.
  • Strong technical skills to manage workload and communication in multiple platforms
  • Attend weekly 1-1 with Team Lead or Manager
  • Attend regular team syncs and trainings
  • Log detailed and accurate notes, and keep systems and records up to date
  • Proficient in e-signature programs such as Docusign, Authentisign, and dotloop
