Our product suite includes many products powered by many microservices, each of them owning their own data. We also have our data warehouse and data lake solutions to develop and power our AI/ML developments.

We are looking for a seasoned DBA to support engineering teams in their day to day work. Technology selection, data modelling, query optimization, monitoring & troubleshooting issues, etc. are continuous needs that you will help teams with.

You will not only support the teams but will be responsible for evangelizing and leveling up our engineering teams regarding their data and database. By providing guidance and training.

In parallel to that, as our system is complex and distributed, you will work closely with our Senior Director of Technology to build a solid data governance framework and define/execute our data strategy.

We have 8 software teams working across 5 countries and taking care of the continuous development of our platform. As Tech Team Lead you will have the unique opportunity to recruit new team members and lead a new team in one of our Tribes. The product you will own is the cornerstone of our business. And we eat our own dogfood: the LanguageWire delivery team and a community of more than 7.000 linguistic experts rely on it to do their job, 24x7. You and your team will be responsible for lifting the product to the next level of scalability and functionality. 

You enjoy working with people, grooming new talents, or inspiring our senior developers to do even better. You are fluent in C# and take great pride in delivering sound and scalable solutions. The team will work with both backend and frontend features, utilizing microservices and cloud technology.

The team you’ll be a part of

You will join one of our most important tribes and lead one of the teams there. The Tribe currently consists of two teams with a total of 11 dedicated people. We need your help to find smart engineers to grow the new team to around 4-6 people. You will work closely with two existing teams working in a distributed and international setup, as well as the Director of tribe who will also be your direct leader.

The team develops and maintains, among other things, the customer and translator portal, the workflow orchestration engine, an internal API and much more. We moved the product to the cloud and want to move to API first and there’s a huge roadmap packed with great product ideas that will keep us busy for the years to come. Our team handles both the Frontend (written in JavaScript and Typescript) and several backend micro-services including the data persistence layer (created using .NET 5 and running on Kubernetes clusters in Azure).

You’ll report to our Director of engineering, and you’ll work closely with our Director of Technology and two other Team Leads within the Tribe.

As a technical leader you will define LanguageWire’s data vision and strategy including aspects like architecture, governance, compliance, etc.

Supported by our Senior Director of Technology, you will collaborate closely with our engineering teams to make this vision a reality by driving the data-related aspects of our roadmap, planning and delivering trainings to our engineering teams and supporting them in all their needs.
