Solar Lead Factory is hiring a Remote Frontend Developer Needed for Inc 500 Solar/Marketing Company

“...solar power will be the single largest source of electricity generation… People do not understand the magnitude of the business. It’s really very, very significant.”

- Elon Musk

Once a fringe thing hippies did, “going solar” is now going mainstream. It took over 30 years for the first 1 million solar installations to be completed. It only took another 3 years to install the second million. Over the next 2 years another 1 million homes will go solar and there are 90 million American households to go after that! Solar technology is cheaper, better and more reliable than ever. Unless your head is buried in a coal mine, it’s becoming abundantly clear that solar is the future.

With rapid growth, mainstream adoption, and a presidential mandate to hit a 100% clean-energy economy by 2050 comes massive investment and opportunity in the space. Installation companies are growing quickly, making them hungry for even more growth, and solar continues to accelerate even in a post-COVID world (the industry grew ~37% in 2020 despite everything).

The last thing you want is the power going out during a quarantine, and it’s also a product that saves people money, bolsters family security, and can be sold over the phone. The technology is dialed, the installation process is clean, but it’s still a challenge to find customers. Since customers that convert into sales are the lifeblood of any company, sales leads are the raw tool that unleashes massive growth for solar installers.

Finding qualified customers: that’s what we do at SolarLeadFactory.

About Us:

SolarLeadFactory has helped over 1 million homeowners looking to buy solar. We have helped hundreds of solar installers grow their businesses - and aim to help hundreds more.

Don't be fooled by our name: we're more than just a 'lead-gen company'. Our business is built on a proprietary software platform allowing us to deliver a best in class product, our process allows us to innovate constantly, and our team is top-tier. We have in-house developers, digital marketing experts, and data scientists relentlessly driving the product forward.

Our mission: to unlock consumer demand for solar power.

About You:

You’re looking for a way to make a huge positive difference in the world & help the companies on the front lines of the solar revolution!

You want to be part of a small but driven team making a big impact on one of the most pressing issues of our time. You share some of our core values including “80/20 Thinking”, “Make Learning the Key Metric”, “Always be Testing Something,” and “Master your Craft”.

Most importantly, you love helping build better front-end user experiences and delivering value in a way that drives the mission of the company forward. You also aren’t intimidated by wading into an existing legacy code-base and polishing, maintaining, and improving what’s already been built.

In order to be successful in this position you must be skilled, highly organized, efficient, proactive, analytical, tech savvy, and an excellent communicator.

Do you want to learn? To grow? To make a difference?

Critical Skills:

  • Key:
    • At least 3-5 years of experience in front-end development work
    • Proficiency in web markup (HTML, CSS, etc)
    • PHP (optional)
    • Ability to build a webpage in vanilla JS without a framework
    • Skill with responsive/cross-device & browser compatibility
    • Proficiency with Git
    • Outstanding intellectual ability: able to process, organize, and synthesize information.
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to work with a team to find great solutions
    • Solar experience is not required, but an interest in solar is
    • Efficient, fast-moving, doer
    • Ambition to grow
    • Problem solving, ability to find solutions, and getting things done
    • Ability to maintain equanimity in trying situations

We’re not looking for a full-stack developer for this position but we’ll absolutely consider it if you have the skillset.

Your Mission:

If you’re excited by building front-end user experiences and helping drive rapid product innovation in a data-driven company, this role could be for you.

Your primary responsibility will be rapidly coding up the front-end of our product. Examples of internal product could include anything from reporting views that drive business decisions to user interfaces for our customers. External-facing product examples include our user funnel and UX, from first click to installed solar panels.

The bulk of work (at least initially) will be on the front-end residential homeowner user experience. This could include re-coding from scratch our existing landing pages for the purpose of creating a clean, clear template to build on (note we don’t use js frameworks). It also could include working on and improving our in-house ab-testing capabilities.

Our development process is based on rapidly changing business objectives, quarterly project work, the needs for refactoring/rebuilding core technology, and responding to day to day technological issues that come up.

Your day to day will be knocking out weekly Scrum points alongside and managed by our lead software developer who has been with us since 2014. You will work directly with our lead Product Manager, who will be helping to plan weekly sprints, as well as the rest of the team.

What you get out of this:

  • Competitive salary
  • Results driven organization
  • Remote location - work from anywhere on a North American time zone (we did this from day 1, long before COVID)
  • Your input matters! We look for the BEST. Period.
  • Work in an amazing industry. Your friends & family will say “woah, that’s cool!”
  • Fast-growing, fun-loving company. Get on the rocketship now!

We are shaking up our industry and working day in and day out to get solar on everyone’s roof. Come shape your future & the future of the world.

If you’re game to make a big difference and reap the rewards, come join us!

Please note that our target hire date for this role is by May 15th, 2021.

Headway is hiring a Remote Senior Product Designer

We are not actively seeking to hire right now for this future opportunity, we are always looking for talented individuals who are interested in working alongside our team. If you are interested in this role, please submit an application and we'll reach out as soon as this opportunity opens.

About Headway

Founded in 2015, Headway was born out of a passion to bring entrepreneurial ideas to market and keep them there. We work holistically with our client partners as a true extension of their product team, not just as an execution arm of their business. If we see something broken, whether that's a workflow, a marketing or messaging strategy, or a needless feature, we speak up, and our clients trust us to help them fix it.

Because we're more than just designers, developers, and product strategists, we achieve results that bring successful long-term partnerships and trusted referrals. We help entrepreneurs and corporate innovators build a business ― not just an app. Our approach to validating ideas and building sustainable business models has been a catalyst for our growth. In 2020 we were honored to be named to the Inc. 5000 at #918 and in 2021 at #2765. This approach, coupled with realistic and incremental software releases, results in a friendly, fun, and collaborative atmosphere where our colleagues and clients both have room to learn and grow.

View our case studies and see how our clients talk about our approach.

If you're a podcast fan, check out Seaworthy, where we explore ways to help companies grow and scale their business and ideas, Even Keeled, a podcast about the craft of creating software and effective development teams, and Exploring Product, a show where we go behind the scenes on what it really takes to bring a new product to market.

We're actively engaged with our community through various live streams and videos to help startups and product teams reach their goals. We're excited about what we've achieved in the last six years, but we're just getting started. We need your help to take us to the next level!

A Day In The Life

During a typical work week, our crew members enjoy a balanced assignment of 35 hours on client projects with the ability to invest the other 5 hours on a combination of individual goals and team meetings. Twice a year, we take a full week away from client work to focus on team goals and internal project initiatives. These weeks alternate between a retreat-style destination and a more focused week-long design and development sprint at our primary office in Wisconsin. Check out our years in review to get a feel for how much fun it is to work at Headway!

What Does Success Look Like?

During your first 2-4 weeks at Headway, you’ll receive extensive training including a customized trail of technical assessments and assignments. This training covers the fundamentals of our core technologies, our process and workflow, testing strategies, tips for successful client interactions, and much more.

You'll have dedicated pairing time scheduled with various colleagues to cover different skills, and we'll even participate in several mock client meetings so your first standup or sprint planning meeting doesn't carry with it the weight of your first client interaction. After this training period, you'll be successfully contributing to new feature work on a client project in the context of a team. You'll also be participating in daily standups, sprint planning meetings, and retrospectives.

Ongoing Support
Each week, you'll meet with your team lead to ensure that you have the time and attention you need to be successful. Your needs and questions will always come first in this meeting, but other topics discussed include:

  • Individual quarterly goal progress
  • Project status / team issues / weekly retro
  • Individual responses to our weekly team health questionnaire

Quarterly and Annual Reviews
In addition to weekly touchpoint meetings, more formal quarterly reviews are scheduled to discuss successes and areas for growth identified over the last 3 months. We have annual performance assessments and salary reviews, though we reserve the right to provide a merit-based pay raise at any time. Most crew members achieve between a 2% and 5% raise each year within their same role, but bigger jumps are possible when roles or responsibilities increase. We're here to grow with you sustainably over the long term.

Experience and Results At Every Level

With an experienced leadership team encompassing design, development, sales, marketing, product, and operations, Headway is poised for an amazing 2022. Our business is guided by EOS and we have strong processes, documentation, and people to support your growth and development. As they say, “Train people well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough so they don't want to.” For more on that, check out our benefits!

Why Should You Apply?

  • Work on exciting projects in the latest tech across a variety of industries including the following:
    • Healthcare and Fitness
    • Financial Technology
    • Logistics and Supply Chain
    • Social and Communication
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients directly to ship features that users love
  • Work with appreciative clients who seek out and value your input and feedback
  • Strong leadership and top-notch colleagues to help you realize your full potential
  • Career growth and leadership opportunities

Key Benefits

  • $6,000 hardware onboarding budget including $2,500 to spend however you like
  • $2,500 annual education and conference budget
  • Quarterly profit-sharing bonus plan

The Hiring Process

If after we review your application and we choose to move forward, the following interviews will typically take place over the course of 3-5 days (depending on scheduling):

  • Work history and aspirations chat with our People and Team Strategist.

Join one of the fastest-growing SaaS on the path of becoming the default platform for product development.

About the role

Are you an experienced product manager with incredible drive and talent? Do you love building products and helping some of the biggest companies in the world create their next-generation products? Keep reading; we have an extraordinary opportunity for you.

Turing Labs is the AI-powered platform to formulate better and safer consumer product like cosmetics, shampoo, detergents, sauces, and plant-based alternatives. We are changing how some of the biggest companies in the world are developing – and we’ve recently raised a $16.5M Series A round to continue our mission of being the default platform for product development. We want you as our strategic product hires at what is already proving to be a category-defining AI company with a great customer list and backed by some of the best investors in the valley - including Insight Partners, Y Combinator, Moment Ventures, and others.

Simply put, the product you build will be used by the world’s largest companies to develop consumer products consumed by billions of people around the world.

If the following responsibilities sound interesting, let’s talk.

You help us to build something our customers want

Develop personas of customers and help us understand what they need. Then, without falling for the temptation to ‘build a faster horse,’ you will craft a product strategy and road map. You will know, and be eager to share, the ‘why’ behind every product decision and work with the executive team to map our route to success.

You see what others don’t

You’ll be operating in an industry where, often, things are done a certain way ‘because they have always been done that way.’ You’ll be recommending that improves the productivity 20x.

Ruthless prioritization

Customers, our team, and what’s going on in the broader market will be sources of an endless stream of ideas and ‘wouldn’t it be great if…’. It’ll be up to you to rapidly prototype and develop new ideas and features with our customers. You’ll be data-driven to ensure that product updates have the intended impact, and you’ll help us work with our AI/ML and engineering teams to define and deliver the objectives for each product sprint. You will live and breathe the interdependencies across our product, you will un-block blockers and champion opportunities across the organization. Most importantly, you will be helping drive the continuous feedback loop between the team, management, and the customers.

Early prediction of issues

A rapidly evolving product doesn’t come without growing pains, but as the product lead, you are deeply familiar with the inner workings of the platform. You will help build tools, systems, and processes so we can catch issues before our customers do. You are also eager to develop mechanisms to respond quickly, ensuring that the train stays on the tracks.

From strategy to execution

From the broadest strategy to the finest detail, you are eager to create a comprehensive, up-to-date plan for where we are going – and you help steer the ship as we move in that direction. You will capture feature requirements and distill them into a product funnel that the development teams can use to deliver successful products.

Foster a customer-obsessed culture

We are upending a market where the customer is placing trust in us to get things right. We want to build a company culture that is obsessively focused on our customers and creating products that delight them. You’ll be a key part of this culture and eager to serve as a reminder of why we do this in the first place: To help serve our customer base.

What you have to offer

  • 4+ years of experience building end-to-end, data-heavy, complex enterprise software. You have a track record of delivering impactful products to market.
  • You are at home conducting user research & user testing to collect new customer insights.
  • Ideally, you have technical knowledge and experience building enterprise-grade software
  • You are execution-oriented and you know how to make the right trade-offs. You are able to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Your communication style is clear and concise, and you have an ability to translate deep technical concepts for a variety of non-technical audiences.
  • Solid experience in writing specifications for technical and non-technical teams, manage project executions, and define roll-out strategies. Collaborative and low-ego; you work well with all kinds of personalities

This will put you near the top of our list

  • You have built software for an industry that creates physical products, for example in the CPG, semi-conductor, or drug discovery space.
  • Have experience building complex, technical software with an AI component.
  • Have experience building products that run in cloud environments

Who we’re looking for

  • You love building systems, processes, and tools to set up your team for success
  • You enjoy collaborative work – internally and externally
  • You are extraordinary at seeing patterns that others miss.
  • You are a fast learner and are eager to gain a deep understanding of the market, customers, and product
  • You are a natural mentor, helping others thrive and learn
  • You are at home in a rapidly growing and evolving startup

What we offer

●      An opportunity to take a crucial, early role in an exciting, rapidly growing startup.

●      You’ll work with a smart, no-ego team

●      Competitive wage, comp, and equity package

●      Medical, dental, and vision package

●      A monthly health & wellness stipend

●      Weekly virtual social events and annual company retreats

●      Work-from-home stipend
