About the Role:

Gusto is looking for a Partner Marketing Associate to support the execution and coordination of partnership marketing campaigns. This is a hands-on role where you will assist with event coordination, campaign logistics, and the creation of marketing materials, reports, and briefs. We're seeking someone who is eager to learn, organized, and detail-oriented, with the ability to juggle multiple campaigns simultaneously.

About the Team:

In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with the Partnerships, Product, Marketing, and Sales teams, actively participating in campaign execution, event coordination, content creation, and performance reporting. You’ll manage logistics for partner events like webinars, workshops, and trade shows, oversee the development of on-brand marketing materials, coordinate campaign timelines and deliverables, and track metrics to optimize outcomes. Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Campaign and Event Coordination:Support co-marketing campaigns by managing timelines, assets, and deliverables. Oversee event logistics for webinars, workshops, and trade shows.
  • Marketing Materials Creation: Work with design and content teams to coordinate the development of on-brand collateral, such as blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, and social media content.
  • Project andCampaign Briefs:Draft clear, structured briefs to communicate goals, timelines, and tasks to internal teams and external partners. 
  • Reporting and Performance Tracking: Track campaign metrics and generate reports, providing insights for team optimization.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate with internal teams (Marketing, Product, Partnerships) and external partners to align on campaign deliverables, timelines, and updates. Help ensure all parties are on the same page.
  • Managing Multiple Projects: Coordinate and manage several campaigns simultaneously, ensuring that each project is executed on time and meets all set objectives.
  • Technology Tools:Utilize platforms such as Salesforce, Asana, and CMS/WordPress to manage projects, track progress, and ensure proper documentation and communication across teams.

Here’s what we're looking for:

  • Marketing Experience: 4+ years of experience and track record of managing successful marketing campaigns  with internal cross-functional teams, external partners, vendors, or third-party agencies.

Our cash compensation amount for this role is $79,000/yr to $94,000/yrinDenver & most major metro locations, and $100,000/yr to $118,000/yr for San Francisco & New York. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.


Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 daysper week (or more depending on role). About the opportunity

As a Senior Staff Designer and design lead for our Compliance team, you will play a critical leadership role in the strategy and execution of compliance experiences across the product.  As a platform design leader, you will collaborate closely with your cross-functional partners and internal feature teams to design and build a seamless and holistic experience for Gusto admins and employees. As a member of the Core Experiences design team, you will contribute to craft quality and leadership across the team, and help set the direction for how platform designers should collaborate with feature teams.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Drive company-wide impact by strengthening our teams’ collective understanding and execution of compliance experiences
  • Work with cross-functional partners in Product Management, Engineering, and Data Science to understand customer problems, key opportunities in your domain, and define both the long term UX vision and short-term milestones that unlock customer value.
  • Collaborate with our Research, Data Science, and Customer Support teams to build a holistic understanding of customer needs, and make sure they’re shared with your teams to inform their thinking, build empathy, and inform prioritization decisions

  • Work with engineering partners to assess downstream impact to the customer experience through data modeling and architecture decisions

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • 10+ years' aligned Product Design experience, ideally with a few years of platform experience

About the opportunity

As a Staff Product Designer for Tax Credits, you’ll be responsible for helping to shape and execute on this newly reformed 0-to-1 team to drive product market fit and business and customer value. You’ll be expected to craft high quality and intuitive end-to-end experiences for our customers. The work on Tax Credits is high visibility, high impact experiences that balance complex technical, compliance, and service requirements. You will play a pivotal role in simplifying the intricate journey of discovering and securing tax credits, ensuring it's approachable, user-friendly, and stress-free. Gusto is first and foremost customer-driven. We take pride in making informed decisions based on customer research and data while balancing short and long term technical decisions.   • Develop a deep understanding of the different customers we serve, and how their varying needs translate into product requirements

About the Role

Our Software Engineering internship is a 12 or 16-week hybrid summer experience focused on making a significant impact on our customers by being embedded directly into our engineering teams. Each intern is paired with a dedicated mentor and a team manager, providing guidance and support as they make immediate contributions to the team’s roadmap, directly advancing Gusto’s mission.

You will be given opportunities to participate in different aspects of the software development life cycle such as influencing technical specs, discussing architecture, working with cross-functional partners, and designing tests while also exploring multiple areas of our tech stack.

  • Contribute to project success through technical designing, writing, testing, and shipping code within expected timeframes.
  • Learn coding and testing best practices while applying both to the work you do.
  • Collaborate and pair with others on the team and cross-functionally including working with Product and Design teams to understand customer pain points, ideate on solutions, and execute plans.
  • Understand the world of Gusto, our customers, and why we do what we do.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Students pursuing a BS and/or MS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field with an expected graduation date between December 2025 and June 2028.
  • Passion for creating memorable customer experiences, regardless of which part of the tech stack you work in.
  • Interest in technologies such as Ruby/Rails, Typescript/React, GraphQL, Python, Golang, Java, Javascript, Kotlin and/or Swift.
  • Appreciation for an iterative, test-driven, pair-programming, and code-review culture.

Pay and benefits

Our cash compensation range for this role is $58.65/hr for undergraduate students and $64.42/hr for graduate students in San Francisco and New York City. In Denver, our compensation range is $46.63/hr for undergraduate students and $51.44/hr for graduate students. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.


Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 daysper week (or more depending on role). Payroll is the beating heart of Gusto’s business. Teams within Payroll Services 

  • Tax Accuracy:The Tax Accuracy group is responsible for gathering and maintaining the necessary information for us to pay and file taxes accurately and on time for our customers, and consists of multiple teams that cover various parts of the process.
  • Ledger: This team is building a payroll ledger to track accrual accounting for payroll-related money movement. This team is starting to support the payroll domain, risk, payments, and accounting. 
  • Engine: This team works closely with the payroll compliance team to ensure enablement of compliant pay, such as minimum wage adjustments, regular rate of pay, etc. We enable end-to-end success of payroll processing and working with various domain teams such as tax calculations, tax setup, payments, and more.
  • Platform: This team is developing a new platform to be the common interface for interacting with payroll and tax data. The payroll and tax domain is highly complex; our team exists to make it easier for other application teams to interact with the payroll and tax system. 

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Design, build, and test the foundation that supports compliant payroll for millions of people
  • Help scale one of the largest Ruby/Rails and TypeScript/React applications in the world
  • Collaborate on complex and ambiguous problems with partnerships from Engineering, Product Management, Design, Data Science, Compliance, Operations, and other cross-functional teams

About the opportunity:

Gusto is at a meaningful inflection point in our scale. We are launching a native mobile app experience for small business owners, and scaling a platform that other teams will use to solve small business problems.  

As a staff designer and design lead for our Member Lifecycle, Core Experiences team, you will play a critical leadership role in the strategy and execution of our vision for team member onboarding, offboarding, and all “people-related information” exposed throughout Gusto’s experience. As a platform design leader, you will collaborate closely with your cross-functional partners and internal feature teams to design and build a seamless and holistic experience for Gusto admins and employees. As a member of the Core Experiences design team, you will contribute to craft quality and leadership across the team, and help set the direction for how platform designers should collaborate with feature teams.

  • Work with cross-functional partners in Product Management, Engineering, and Data Science to understand customer problems, key opportunities in your domain, and define both the long term UX vision and also short term releases that unlock customer value.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand common customer and business needs, and crafting patterns and systems that meet those needs

We’re looking for a Senior Design System’s designer with direct experience working on PRODUCT focused Design Systems. By joining the Data Leadership team, you will play a key role in the overall data strategy at Gusto, leading efforts that impact data architecture, engineering efficiency, and product delivery. You will focus on bringing organizational rigor to large-scale data initiatives, while supporting teams in solving complex challenges with clear roadmaps, priorities, and strategic guidance.

Here’s What You’ll Do Day-to-Day:

  • Lead and drive complex, cross-functional data programs by developing and managing detailed program roadmaps, project plans, and timelines, ensuring alignment between data teams, product and engineering partners, and business stakeholders.
  • Partner with the Head of Data and senior leadership to define the data strategy, align on priorities, and report on progress across the organization.
  • Oversee the implementation of critical data initiatives such as Amplitude re-implementation, optimizing CDP platforms like Tealium, and improving tracking across web and mobile applications.
  • Collaborate with product managers, data engineers, and analysts to deliver high-quality, scalable data assets that meet organizational and customer needs.
  • Establish and continuously improve operational procedures to enhance team productivity, streamline communication, and drive program success.
  • Serve as a thought partner for executives, providing strategic insights and recommendations for data programs, including resource allocation, risk management, and technical considerations.
  • Design and implement frameworks that ensure readiness for data-driven changes across the business, building scalable solutions to prepare teams for regular data updates and launches.
  • Build strong relationships with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of data programs that have wide-reaching impacts.
  • Help build Data’s brand within Gusto by creating company-wide communication mechanisms around the work we do
  • Potential opportunity to lead a small team of TPMs in the future.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in technical program management at software companies with demonstrated success leading large-scale, cross-functional programs.
  • Deep experience with data engineering processes, architecture, and workflows, including a strong understanding of data platforms, cloud infrastructures, and ETL pipelines.
  • Expertise in Agile methodologies, with a solid background in managing scrum teams, product backlogs, and roadmaps using JIRA or similar tools.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively across both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and systems-thinking skills with the ability to evaluate complex issues and propose data-driven solutions.

Nice to have:

  • Extensive experience implementing tracking solutions for web and mobile apps, as well as familiarity with customer data platforms (e.g., Tealium, Amplitude).
  • 3-5 years of experience managing and mentoring teams, with a proven ability to lead and develop individual contributors.
  • Proficiency in SQL, with hands-on experience in querying databases like Redshift, Snowflake, or similar platforms.

About the Role:

As a Sales Development Representative, it will be your job to identify, qualify, and set up prospective clients with our Account Executives who will consult with those prospects and help them become clients. The Sales Development Representative is a first point of contact for many of our new clients. This role spends much of the day on the phone calling Payroll Service Providers and Employers who are not currently Symmetry clients. The Sales Development Representative is politely persistent and cheerfully competitive. As a Sales Development Representative, you will collaborate with our Marketing and Sales teams to pursue and identify new business opportunities across many sectors: payroll, technology, financial services, large employers, and more. 

You will have a direct impact on Symmetry’s ability to deliver our payroll tax tools in pursuit of our vision to touch every American paycheck with accurate withholding. A focus on solving client’s pain points and providing them with the best solution for their needs is essential.

About the Team:

You'll be a part of the team driving Symmetry’s growth by focusing on finding prospects, conducting discovery calls to qualify leads, and then scheduling product demos with an Account Executive. If you have a passion for consultative sales, a collaborative spirit of engagement, and a passion for SAAS payroll products, you may be a great fit for Symmetry Software.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage a high volume of outbound calls daily to cold & warm prospects (100+ per day)

About the Role:

Gusto is in search of an experienced leader to oversee and grow our Business Insurance offering, currently centered around Workers Compensation Insurance.  We have an exciting early vision, and are looking for the right leader to enhance and scale our existing offering, while expanding the customer pain points our Business Insurance product can solve, in order to help our small and medium-sized business customers stay compliant, and protect their business and workforce.

About the Team:

As a member of Gusto’s product leadership team, you will be responsible for building the growing Business Insurance R&D team, and assume responsibility for the business overall.  You will closely partner with various cross-functional departments, including Partnerships, Marketing, and Sales, all collaborating to build the roadmap for and deliver the ultimate Business Insurance solution for our valued customers.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Lead Gusto’s Business Insurance app including the recruitment, hiring, and empowerment of a world-class R&D team
  • Take ownership of the product and business from end to end.  In addition to guiding the product development team, you will collaborate closely with our go-to-market, operations, and service teams to ensure a seamless and fully functional customer experience 
  • Set and execute a multi-year product vision and strategy for Gusto’s Business Insurance offering; develop and drive the product roadmap for a cross-functional team comprising Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, Operators, and Marketers
  • Understand customer pain points, devise solutions, and then iterate through execution

Here’s what we're looking for:

  • Possess 10+ years of hands-on product development leadership and/or General Manager (GM) experience within an R&D team in a modern technology business 
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of scaling the impact of a product line within a multi-product company
  • Exhibit comprehensive domain expertise in Business Insurance products, including Worker’s Compensation, General Liability, Professional Liability, Cybersecurity and more, coupled with insights into how the industry is evolving in response to emerging technologies
  • Knowledge of insurance industry specific business models and metrics
  • Embrace a GM mindset and possess the ability to lead a product and team
  • Display strong strategic thinking skills, capable of evaluating multiple paths, making effective tradeoffs, and articulating a clear and compelling forward plan
  • Employ a highly collaborative approach with a demonstrated ability to drive impact and influence across multiple EPDD) organizations and non-EPDD centralized teams such as Sales, Marketing, and Operations
  • Excel as a team leader who inspires others to follow with excellence in mentorship, people leadership, and recruiting capabilities.

Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $214,000 to $246,000 in Denver & most major metro locations, and $251,000 to $289,000 for San Francisco, New York, & Seattle. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.


Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 daysper week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.

Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas. 

When approved to work from a location other than a Gusto office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required.

About the Role:

Gusto’s new Business Insurance team helps small businesses protect themselves from risk and liability. Business insurance can be a crucial financial safety net when unexpected costs arise from accidents or mistakes. Our team helps business owners navigate this complicated space and find the best protection for them.

As the founding designer of this team, you’ll play a key role in establishing this new product line. As part of the cross-functional leadership team, you’ll lead the entire product development process. Together you’ll own everything from setting the long-term vision and roadmap, all the way to launching new features and iterating on existing ones.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Work with the other members of your leadership team to define a long-term UX vision for your product area and how it fits into Gusto’s broader vision.
  • Co-lead the definition of product strategy, roadmap, team OKRs, and project direction.
  • Work with cross-functional partners in UX Research, Data Science, Legal, Compliance, Partnerships, and Customer Support to understand customer problems and identify key opportunities for the customer and our business. 
  • Ship both net new and iterative projects that deliver consistent value to our customers.
  • Contribute to Gusto’s product design leadership community by sharing your skills and experience.
  • Champion our design system and platform standards, and help evolve them through your team’s work.

Here’s what we're looking for:

  • 8+ years of software product design experience, preferably in B2B SaaS. Bonus if you’ve led the initial launch of a new product offering.
  • Builder mindset: You have demonstrated experience as an individual contributor design leader at the product or group level, and can articulate how you’ve set direction and built alignment through your design work.
  • Comfort with complexity: You’ve led the design of approachable, guided products in complex or highly regulated domains. Bonus if you have experience working with 3rd party partner teams to create seamless customer experiences.
  • Product acumen: This role will contribute directly to business and product strategy. You should be comfortable working with executive stakeholders, and be able to demonstrate how you’ve shaped business decisions.
  • High quality bar: This role will be a tireless advocate for our customers’ experience with Gusto. You should be able to demonstrate how you’ve maintained design quality and accessibility across screen sizes, while shipping iteratively to deliver customer value early and often.
