About the role...
- Provide 3rd line investigation of customer incidents escalated to the team, quickly triage, and bring the case to resolution.
- Work closely with customers and become a trusted advisor, occasionally leading presentations to customers and mentoring people internal & external.
- Become an extension of the customer’s connectivity team, ensuring the best customer experience and deliver high levels of expertise.
- Understand the need to and know when to escalate to the Operations/Duty Manager on identification of a major incident.
- Have the capability and confidence to take lead of a virtual Incident Management team liaising with engineers from various technical fields.
- Work in conjunction with the Operations Engineers and 3rd Party Resolvers to provide incident resolution, problem management and root cause analysis.
- Have the capability to perform trend analysis leading to the identification of reoccurring faults and resolve repeat faults under problem management.
- To proactively identify serious issues and identify a course of action to minimise or eradicate the possibility of impacting our customer’s systems availability.
- Service restoration must be at the forefront of incident resolution to meet contractual SLA’s & OLA’s.
- To instigate and work with CSI (Continual Service Improvement) to drive better quality and improved service at Service Desk / Front Line Ops and Tier 2 through documented solutions, guides, and feedback.
Qualifications
What do we need from you?
Cisco Networking
- Experience of working within a multi-vendor environment with at least 3 to 5 years’ of hands on experience supporting Cisco Networks products including core routing and switching (ISE including ISR, Cat 9k, Nexus 5, 7 and 9k with ACI.
- Meraki networking components.
- Cisco DNA technologies.
- Should hold one or more recognized Cisco accreditations to relevant CCNP standard (this may be offset by demonstrable experience with the ability to achieve certification in short period of time).
Extreme Networking
- Experience of working within a multi-vendor environment with at least 3 to 5 years’ of hands on experience supporting legacy Brocade products and Extreme Switching tech plus Fabric technologies.
- Should hold one or more recognized Brocade/extreme accreditations to ECS standard (this may be offset by demonstrable experience with the ability to achieve certification short period of time).
Wireless Networking
Experience of working within a multi-vendor environment with at least 3 to 5 years’ of hands on experience supporting Wi-Fi products including with relevant professional level accreditation.
- Aruba solutions to include Clearpass and Airwave.
- Cisco WLC including Aironet, ISE, Prime and Cisco Meraki.
- Extreme Cloud.
- Ubiquiti WIFI.
- Fortinet WIFI.
Security technologies
Cisco
- Experience of working within a multi-vendor environment with at least 3 to 5 years’ of hands on experience supporting Cisco ASA, Cisco Firepower, IPS, Zero-Day Threat protection, web filtering on firewalls, Cisco Umbrella, ISE technologies.
- Should hold one or more recognized Cisco accreditations to relevant CCNP standard (this may be offset by demonstrable experience with the ability to achieve certification in short period of time).
