About this role:The Learning Experience Designer will help make Greenlight Guru the leader in Medical Device education by assessing the learning needs of both internal and external stakeholders and developing educational content for the Greenlight Guru Academy to meet those needs. This role will report to the Director of Education Services


Your contributions and responsibilities:

  • Create, manage and maintain a library of learning material including written, video, and elearning content.
  • Work with the Director of Education Services to develop and manage new processes relating to the use and management of the Greenlight Guru Academy
  • Ensure the user experience within our learning content and on the Academy site meets current best practices for online learning, and matches the GG brand experience.
  • Create, upload, and publish new learning content as well as upkeep existing content
  • Work with other GG stakeholders to assess customer, partner, and industry learning needs
  • Maintain content templates that other GG stakeholders may use to drive a fast and agile development process
  • Identify and develop learning paths or journeys that will guide our learners to success and help them earn meaningful credentials 
  • Assist in scheduling and planning with Subject Matter Experts and other stakeholders
  • Work with Product Marketing to deliver Academy news, launch announcements, and other marketing communications in a timely manner 


Your ideal qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design or related field, or a comparable number of years of experience
  • At least 1 year experience with elearning content design required, experience with Articulate Rise or Storyline preferred 
  • Experience with basic graphic design principles, Adobe creative suite preferred
  • Experience with video editing and production  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous experience with an LMS required, Skilljar experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment that can change rapidly
  • Cooperative problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently once clear direction is provided.

Lighthouse Labs is looking to bring on multiple PT instructors to help teach our content to our students. We are looking to hire instructors that can teach a wide range of topics in Data Science. If you are passionate about teaching your craft and helping us usher in the next generation of Data Scientists, this could be a great opportunity for you! You’ll be helping to create a solid foundation through training. We structure our teaching opportunities and we require our Data Instructors to be available from 1:00pm - 3:00pm EST, Monday to Friday, with an option of picking up a maximum of 35 hrs/week to mentor students from the comfort of your own home or wherever you sit down to work.


What you'll be doing:

  • Deliver the curriculum virtually to groups of students through lecture-like classroom formats and provide coverage for both PST and EST time zone students 
  • Make virtual rounds and help assist individual students or project groups as they work through assignments and homework material via proactive Google meet/Zoom checkins, Slack channel participation, and Discord threads
  • Work with the Education Team to assess student progress through Compass stats, assistances, one-on-one code reviews, and 'open office hours' including receiving feedback from students (current and via exit surveys)
  • Assist in modifications to the existing curriculum and development of new curriculum including acting as a SME to the LxDs, Account Managers and PMs where relevant on corporate, government or public programs 
  • Assist in training new mentors/instructors including shadowing and providing feedback
  • Perform regular code reviews and technical interviews for existing students and assist with the screening (when necessary) of prospective students and mentors
  • Provide online mentorship support to alumni, prospective and current students via various meetups, team building activities and community events
  • Work on software projects used internally or externally by Lighthouse Labs including across our various platforms
  • Various other administrative duties including but not limited to assistance with:

       ○Grading and providing feedback/comments in LMS on student progress

       ○ Regular status / sprint meetings for Instructors 

       ○ Attending and contributing to a weekly EdOps meeting

       ○ Scheduling of teachers (when necessary)


What we need from you: 

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in data science
  • Must have: advanced Python experience
  • We really like requests, scipy, pandas, sklearn, numpy, matplotlib, plotly, seaborn, spark, AWS, keras, tensorflow, xgboost
  • nice to have: pytorch, BeautifulSoup, selenium, streamlit, git, github,
  • Have strong sense of open source development workflows using tools such as Github
  • Previous experience with mentorship, tutoring, or teaching beginners technical subjects
  • Ability to communication effectively over video, chat and with remote delivery
  • Availability between 1:00pm - 3:00pm EST, Monday to Friday

Lighthouse Labs is looking to welcome new Subject Matter Experts in the field of Cyber Security. Working directly with the Learning Product team, SMEs help design and develop our innovative technical curriculum for learners across Canada.


This position is a contract, hourly basis role. The hours are flexible to fit the project needs and the SME commitments.


What you’ll be doing:

  • The Subject Matter Expert (SME) acts as a reference in their field of expertise to collaborate with the learning design team to develop high quality, workplace relevant learning experiences in their field of expertise.
  • The SME plays a key role in the development of new programs and products as well as in the update and maintenance of existing programs. They work closely with the learning design team to write, develop, update and support the delivery of courses.
  • SMEs work with LHL on a flexible, hourly basis. They must be available to meet with the project stakeholders at designated points during the project which will be decided on project kickoff.


What we need from you:

  • Passion for teachingCyber Security topics and the field of cyber security
  • Proficiency in the topics covered in our curriculum, including IT and Network Essentials, Security Policies, Forensics, Detection Engineering, Threat Intelligence, Forensics and Secure Architecture, and how they are used in the workplace
  • Excellent understanding of Cyber Security Frameworks and industry relevant tools,in a business context
  • Minimum of 5 years experience solving real-life business and Cyber security problems, and are comfortable creating Labs in an Emulated virtualization environment
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills - experience writing content for non-technical audiences an asset
  • Tech and Software Savvy - experience with the G Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Calendar etc.), Slack, Discord highly preferred

What we need from you:  

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience, designing learning experiences for both synchronous and asynchronous learning solutions 
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Strong working knowledge of a variety of learning authoring tools and learning management systems. 
  • Superior communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying, implementing and measuring effectiveness of adult learning principles and pedagogy.
  • Problem solving skills including analysis of information (i.e., project design requirements, description of problems, etc.); providing others with alternatives to problems.
  • Relationship development skills include effectively and efficiently responding to inquiries; identifying stated and unstated customer needs and building collaborative dynamics.
