Over the last 16 years, Revolution Prep has worked with over 1 million students to raise grades and test scores and build stronger, more confident learners. Revolution Prep is looking for professional tutors to join our esteemed faculty with proficiency in a variety of academic subjects (including ability to teach high school, AP, and IB level courses in mathematics, social studies, science, English, and/or other languages) and ACT/SAT prep. We look for educators who believe in the value of one-on-one instruction and personalized lesson plans and who have a strong desire to help students achieve their educational dreams.

If selected, you must be available to attend one of our online Professional Tutor New-Hire Training Rounds (training is paid):

    • Monday, February 7, 2022 – Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 9 AM – 3:30 PM PDT

    Our hourly, non-exempt faculty members work from home and completely online with a customized schedule that includes a minimum of 35 hours of availability within the company's predetermined prime-time hours (listed below) with the ability to add a limitless maximum amount of availability and a delivery target of at least 28 hours of instruction per week. Number of hours of availability posted do not necessarily equate to actual number of paid hours worked, but improves your ability to receiving new student assignments. Actual hours worked is highly dependent on tutor's proactivity with families, individual subject coverage, quality of instruction, and tutor-selected availability. Hours also fluctuate based on sales volume and seasonality. The bulk of our tutors work anywhere from 20-35+ per week.

    All faculty members are required to post at least 8 hours of availability within prime-time hours on Sundays during the school-year; it is recommended that tutors provide some weekend availability over the summer:

    School-Year Prime-Time Hours (mid-August through mid-June):

    • Sundays: 5 AM-7 PM PST
    • Mondays-Thursdays: 12 PM-8 PM PST
    • Fridays: 12 PM-4 PM PST
    • Saturdays: 5 AM-4 PM PST

    Summer Prime-Time Hours (mid-June through mid-August):

    • Sundays: 6 AM-8 PM PDT
    • Mondays-Thursdays: 6 AM-4 PM PDT
    • Fridays: 5 AM-4 PM PDT
    • Saturdays: 5 AM-7 PM PDT

    Revolution Prep tutors have significant opportunity for career growth. We divide our faculty pool into three tiers to help support tutor development, and match our families’ needs with the right levels of experience and skills. Most tutors begin their career with Revolution Prep in our Advanced Tier. Tutors may advance into the Distinguished Tier, and from there into our Premium Tier based on the accumulation of their experience, subject proficiency, and demonstrated quality with our families. Promotion is associated with pay increases and changes in expected pay ranges.

    Our professional tutors typically start as members of our Advanced Tier tutor faculty pool at $25/hr. Upon passing their 90-day review, new tutors’ may be eligible for a rate increase based on performance and subject coverage review.

    New professional tutors are eligible for biannual bonuses after working with the company for at least 6 months. Pay range is highly dependent on the individual's performance, academic subject coverage, and tenure, but can significantly increase over time.

    Professional tutors are hourly, non-exempt Revolution Prep employees and are paid for every hour worked, are eligible for full benefits, and work from the comfort of their own homes.

    Note: All Revolution Prep tutors are expected to provide SAT/ACT tutoring, in addition to the academic subjects in which they specialize. It is expected that tutors will be proficient in all sections of the SAT/ACT in order to provide students with strong guidance and expertise.

    • Embody a "growth mindset" (unafraid of challenges; adaptable to change; willingness to learn)
    • Manage the schedules, goals, and lesson plans of several students simultaneously to meet families’ needs and to optimize delivered instruction hours
    • Deliver exceptional instruction for students online both one-on-one and in small groups (<10 students) for academic subjects 4-10 hours per working day from a computer
    • Utilize Revolution Prep curriculum materials for private tutoring students (Grades K-12 and also college students, if you feel comfortable taking on those programs) in a variety of academic subjects, in addition to SAT and ACT exam prep
    • Deliver dynamic online SAT/ACT test prep classes to students grades 10-12, helping students improve their college candidacy and achieve their educational dreams by using Revolution Prep’s structured proven curriculum and course materials
    • Demonstrate fluency with Revolution’s SAT/ACT specific curricula, instructional strategies and best practices, and classroom management techniques
    • Achieve and maintain a minimum academic skill score (calculated based on the subjects that you are comfortable tutoring and their demand from our students) of 25 by the end of the first 6-months of employment with the company
    • Adhere to requirements for ongoing parent/student communication
    • Represent Revolution Prep with the highest level of professionalism at all times

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred
    • Ability to comfortably provide academic support to students on SAT/ACT math concepts which includes items through the level of Algebra II
    • High-speed internet with ability to connect via ethernet cable, as well as a clean, quiet, professional setting for online sessions
    • Ability to teach consecutive online tutoring sessions while sitting or standing for extended periods of time, five to six days per week
    • Ability to work during peak tutoring hours during the week. Please refer to Prime Time hours listed above. Employment is dependent on having a minimum of 35 hours of availability within those company-determined hours.
    • Ability to work on the weekends (all full-time Revolution Prep online professional tutors are required to be available for at least 8 hours’ worth of tutoring on Sundays within our prime-time hours)
    • Ability to commit to employment and schedule requirements at least through September 2022
    • Authorized to work in the United States (current residence must also be in the US)

    To be successful in the online Professional Tutor role, your computer must meet the minimum requirements listed below:

    • A Mac/PC desktop or laptop
    • Mac users: Mac OS X Snow Leopard (version 10.6) or later
    • PC users: Windows 8.1 or later
    • High-speed internet with strong and reliable reception/service, provided through an ethernet connection
    • 4GB or more of available memory/RAM

    You will:

    • Recruit, lead, and mentor a strong team (current team size of 4, with future growth to 20+ planned)

    • Shape Cash ML’s roadmap using an understanding of both business requirements and machine learning architecture
    • Dive deeply with members of your team to provide coaching that ensures their success, providing hands-on technical guidance and direction in critical high-impact areas as needed

    You have:

    • Experience leading teams both technically and in a formal management capacity. Experience growing teams from 5 to 15 or more is a plus

    encountered phrases and questions with the French speaking public. The student must then

    answering the questions asked, or providing information as needed. At least 90% of the students completing training will be able to recognize and respond appropriately to at least 95% of.the selected vocabulary, in 95% of the occurrences in which the selected vocabulary is presented.


    Each student, at the completion of training, shall be able to perform the required level of



    The student will be able to recognize designated key phrases or questions in French, from the

    selected vocabulary when reading written communication or letters. The student must then

    respond appropriately, providing the requested information by selecting the correct reply, or by properly identifying the functional organization that the written communication was intended. At least 85% of the students completing training for each class will be able to comprehend and appropriately respond to or determine the intended addressee for at least 90% of the written

    The Candidate shall administer tests on knowledge and proficiency as a required element of

    evaluating the student's progress in the training module or lesson. The Candidate shall provide these tests periodically to:

    Lighthouse Labs is looking to welcome a new Student Advisor, whose primary responsibility is to ensure a seamless and supportive enrollment experience. Student Advisors will be interacting directly with our students to aid them in finding all the tools necessary to navigate enrollment successfully. This support starts by being the student's first point of contact when learning about our programs, to ensure that students are successfully starting in and graduating from their program of choice.  The Student Advisor position reports to the Director of Recruitment.

    What you’ll be doing:

    • Serve as the ambassador of LHL and as the primary point person for prospective learners by providing online advising for prospective learners regarding LHL’s academic information, policies & procedures, resources & support structures, and the admissions process.
    • Assist students in the development of educational & career goals and plans, including choosing a program of study, clarifying the process, and engaging them through the steps required to get there.
    • Advise students by assisting them in their exploration of their academic and employment outcomes and correlating LHL’s supports, resources, and program outcomes.
    • Utilize LHL information systems to aid in the delivery of advising service and to maintain up-to-date, detailed, and confidential records of every student interaction.
    • Field inbound inquires by call/text/email with unparalleled professionalism and provides outstanding customer service by rigorously engaging prospective learners through outbound calls/texts/emails to maintain engagement and further progress through the admissions process.
    • Support initially unsuccessful potential learners on alternatives and solutions regarding tests, programs, funding, etc.
    • Schedule and host digital video appointments with students, take an active interest in their motivations and desires for academic and professional success and assist them in meeting those goals with the use of LHL programs and resources.
    • Meet the LHL Student Advisor KPI’s including but not limited to Daily Contact Targets, Student Contact Rate, Appointment Set Rate, Appointment Show Rate, Technical Test Completion Rate, Prep Course Completion Rate, Program Start Rate, Overall Conversion Rate, and Personally Developed Referrals Target.
    • Provides recommendations for continuous improvement to LHL based on interactions with prospective learners, students, and graduates.

    • Ability to communicate effectively over video, chat, and with remote delivery
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, effectively prioritize activities and demonstrate a high degree of maturity and professionalism.
    • The ability to work independently, be self-motivated & focused and have excellent time management skills
    • Commitment to gain and apply comprehensive knowledge of the college’s organizational structure, operations, services, regulations, policies, and procedures to assist in addressing student queries.
