About the opportunity

We’re looking for a Product Designer to help us craft the future of our shared experiences. These are the surface areas that are leveraged by products across our platform. They encompass a wide array of critical touchpoints including Tasks & Notifications, Roles & Permissions, User Profiles, Navigation, and more. As such, this role is perfect for Designers who love to look horizontally and find opportunities to streamline, drive cohesion, and deliver experiences that elevate the whole platform. You’ll have the opportunity to work with an excellent group of designers, engineers and PMs on problems that truly matter and shape how our customers’ organizations evaluate and improve themselves.

What we’re looking for

As a note, even if you don’t feel your experience covers everything listed below, we still encourage you to apply! The goal of this job posting is to establish the shape of the role, and we’re open to adjusting the leveling if we find someone who’s a great fit for that shape.

  • Experience evaluating and designing complex workflows, in particular flows that move across or have impact on multiple products within a suite.
  • A track record of innovating in your UI choices - going beyond standard web elements to create unique experiences that meet customer needs.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills with a talent for succinctly articulating customer challenges.
  • Proven success working with an established design system - knowing when to reuse existing components, and when to evolve or even ignore them to meet your customers’ needs.
  • Experience working closely with User Research, as well as a track record of talking to customers and incorporating feedback from those sessions into your work.
  • A reliable partner for Product - you think at a high-level about your product area and collaborate closely with your PM and Engineering partners to define the future of the products you work on.
  • You work closely with your engineering team throughout the design and development process, bringing your team along and then ensuring every detail of the design is implemented in a high-quality way.
  • A love for design feedback - both receiving and giving. You are someone who consistently shares your work with other designers and your cross-functional team, and who regularly engages with other designers’ work.

Bonus points if…

  • You have contributed to a horizontal and/or Design System team
  • You have worked in B2B SaaS

Hudl is hiring a Remote Lead Product Designer - Design Systems

Building a team starts with valuing the team. We hire the best of the best to ensure you’re working with people you can constantly learn from. You’re trusted to get your work done your way while testing the limits of what’s possible and what’s next. We work hard to provide a culture where everyone feels supported, and our employees feel it—their votes helped us become one of Newsweek's Top 100 Global Most Loved Workplaces in 2023.

We also value sports. Not just because of the big wins and highlight-worthy plays, but because of the lasting impact sports can have: the lifelong lessons in teamwork and dedication; the influence of inspiring mentors; the priceless opportunities to play at the next level. Sports can change lives—that’s what we value.

Our team helps the world see sports differently through products that make it easier to capture video, analyze data, share highlights and do a lot more.

Ready to join us?

Your Role

We're looking for a Lead Product Designer to lead the charge for our Hudl design system Uniform. This is a hands-on contributor, coach and visionary role that will help our platform team maintain, manage and scale our design system.

This role reports to the VP of Design.

As a Lead Designer, you’ll:

  • Invest in the design chapter and our collective success. You’ll work openly with the Design team to shape our culture, processes and tools, and facilitate onboarding of awesome new designers. You’ll find the ways to scale your influence and impact, reaching across the organization to build our our design system. You’ll be an advocate, evangelist and expert.
  • Be open, transparent and communicative. You’ll support a nimble design system team through processes as you build shared understanding and establish a vision.
  • Drive toward outcomes at scale. You’ll balance being a hands-on contributor and a collaborative leader, thinking holistically about the future of our Uniform design system and deeply about individual features and workflows that squads work on. You’ll closely scrutinize processes with the goal of improving continually over time to better support our squads.

Our priority is to hire someone for this role who lives near our office in Lincoln, Nebraska, but we're also open to remote candidates who live in the following states: AL, AZ, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MA, MI, MN, MO, NE, NH, NC, NV, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WI, WY.

Must-Haves

  • A passionate, experienced practitioner. You have 6+ years of experience working in a SaaS user experience and design org (hardware knowledge is a plus!), and 3+ years of experience working in and leading design systems.
  • An expert in Figma. You know AutoLayout, Variants and Interactive Components, with proficiency in Component Properties, newly released features and branching.
  • Thrives in ambiguity. You can create both tactical and big picture views, then align teams to get there. You’re able to choose the best medium and fidelity to convey your ideas at each stage of a project, and you’re not afraid to socialize explorations to validate or invalidate your assumptions and opinions. You can back your designs, perspectives and decisions in rationale, ideation and customer understanding.
  • A laser focus on user experience. You know how to scale your influence and connect with distributed, global design teams. You’re as proud of your organizational tools as you are the outcomes delivered to end users.
  • A storyteller and dot connector. You’re an expert communicator and collaborator, capable of working closely and partnering with Product Managers, Engineers and Designers to drive vision, alignment and strategy forward. You excel in giving and receiving feedback and critique.
  • A strong understanding of UI standards. You have experience designing products following standards such as WCAG Accessibility standards, native mobile conventions, and iOS + Android guidelines. You know how to emphasize the business value of design and why accessibility matters.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Engineering experience. You’ve spent time with front-end development, using languages such as HTML, CSS, React, and React Native and/or leveraging front-end tools such as Storybook. You’ve used those skills to contribute actual components to a previous design system.
  • A curious learner. You keep up to date with the latest design system trends and popular design systems such as Material and Spectrum.
  • A sports enthusiast. You understand the unique challenges and opportunities within the sports technology industry.

Our Role

  • Champion work-life harmony. We’ll give you the flexibility you need in your work life (e.g., flexible vacation time, company-wide holidays and timeout (meeting-free) days, remote work options and more) so you can enjoy your personal life too.
  • Guarantee autonomy. We have an open, honest culture and we trust our people from day one. Your team will support you, but you’ll own your work and have the agency to try new ideas.
  • Encourage career growth. We’re lifelong learners who encourage professional development. We’ll give you tons of resources and opportunities to keep growing.
  • Provide an environment to help you succeed. We've invested in our offices, designing incredible spaces with our employees in mind. But whether you’re at the office or working remotely, we’ll provide you the tech stack and hardware to do your best work.
  • Support your mental and physical health. We care about our employees’ wellbeing. Our Employee Assistance Program, employee resource groups and fitness partner Peerfit have you covered.
  • Cover your medicalinsurance. We have multiple plans to pick from to ensure you’ll have the coverage you (and your dependents) want, including vision, dental, fertility healthcare and family forming benefits.
  • Contribute to your 401(K). Yep, that’s free money. We’ll match up to 4% of your own contribution.

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is displayed below, and may be eligible for bonuses which are offered at Hudl's sole discretion.  Where a candidate is placed within this base salary range is determined by experience, skills, education and training required for the job as well as our internal pay equity.  Discretionary bonuses, if awarded, may include annual targets based on company performance and a long-term incentive award.

Base Salary Range
$108,750$181,250 USD

Inclusion at Hudl

Hudl is an equal opportunity employer. Through our actions, behaviors and attitude, we’ll create an environment where everyone, no matter their differences, feels like they belong.

We offer resources to ensure our employees feel safe bringing their authentic selves to work, including employee resource groups and communities. But we recognize there’s ongoing work to be done, which is why we track our efforts and commitments in annual inclusion reports

We also know imposter syndrome is real and the confidence gap can get in the way of meeting spectacular candidates. Please don’t hesitate to apply—we’d love to hear from you.

JustFix.nyc is hiring a Remote Design Lead

About The Position

JustFix is seeking a full-time Product Design Lead to shape the digital tools we build with tenants, tenant organizers, and legal advocates fighting displacement in NYC. Reporting to the Co-Executive Director, the Product Design Lead will have a huge impact on driving JustFix’s ambitious mission and roadmap.

The Product Design Lead will own the direction and execution of all full-stack design projects across our evolving product portfolio. From guiding generative research to producing engineering ready deliverables, you’ll be central to developing our vision for new 0→1 products and for steering long-term product iteration. You’ll be responsible for creating services and experiences that are exceptionally usable, which empower our users, and that provide pathways to real-world impact. To do this you’ll develop deep subject matter expertise in NYC’s complex housing landscape and be an integral voice in shaping our strategy.

Success in this role is defined by your ability to design best-in-class digital products, and to lead the research and design process that produce those products. The ideal candidate is a deeply collaborative teammate who thrives in a problem-solving, small team environment. We’re looking for a trusted facilitator who can coordinate work across disciplines to identify and answer questions that move our work forward. If this sounds like you, and you’re excited to work with us and with leaders in the tenant movement, we encourage you to apply and build technology for housing justice.

Note: This position is a bargaining unit position covered by CWA Local 1101.

Job Responsibilities

Design Leadership (40%)

  • Own the direction and execution of all full-stack design projects.
  • Collaborate with the Co-Executive Director, staff, and external partners to contribute to a product strategy that helps us achieve our goals.
  • Facilitate generative workshops, working sessions, and design reviews that break down complex, open-ended opportunities into actionable next steps.
  • Develop comprehensive design proposals that connect to success metrics, while minimizing requirements for delivering successful products.
  • Envision breakthrough user experiences and strategically build off existing capabilities.
  • Apply Design Justice Principles and Equity Centered Community Design practices.

Design Execution (35%)

  • Design prototypes, service blueprints, and other artifacts that communicate intent, raise key questions and risks, and reveal what’s possible.
  • Methodically and rapidly explore multiple design directions that produce informed recommendations related to user journey, UX, UI, product content, and more.
  • Deliver excellence in product accessibility, typography, information hierarchy, UX, & UI.
  • Shape content strategy for our onsite and text-message products.
  • Work closely with engineers to assess strategy and feasibility throughout design and implementation processes, creating well documented engineering-ready assets.
  • Co-own VQA and QA processes with engineering and product partners.
  • Lead, maintain, and evolve our design system and brand.
  • Produce promotional material for product releases, as needed.

Research (25%)

  • Define, execute, and evolve our research strategies and methodologies.
  • Create artifacts that drive research like prototypes, discussion guides, and surveys.
  • Develop agendas and facilitate moderated research sessions, interviews, and participatory workshops.
  • When possible, provide research opportunities for teammates to co-own.
  • Own research synthesis and documentation, and facilitate alignment on next steps based on insights.

Must Haves

  • 7+ years of UX-related experience, with at least 1+ years leading 0→1 projects from discovery research through launch and iteration.
  • Highly motivated to play a lead role in shaping how technology can support New Yorkers fighting displacement to achieve healthy, affordable, stable, housing.
  • Adept at making sense of complex systems, and have a track record designing creative and simple UX solutions to tough problems.
  • Expert facilitator, and experienced leading an array of research and synthesis processes with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Clear and responsive communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working closely with engineers to identify and solve constraints.
  • History of making design decisions based on both quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Exceptional visual design and information architecture. Bonus if you have experience making data more legible.

  • Capable copywriter for in-product content.
  • Seamlessly work across multiple projects and objectives, managing time independently.
  • Desire to proactively contribute to a trusting, exciting, and fulfilling place to work.

Product Designer

OneDomeLondon, GB Remote
sketchB2CB2BDesignuiUX

OneDome is hiring a Remote Product Designer

ProductDesigner

Founded in 2016, OneDome is on a mission to transform the buying and selling property experience for consumers and property service businesses in the UK.

Our property technology is an end-to-end platform that helps consumers with their property search and purchase, while our B2B products empower property professionals to adapt to their customers’ changing needs.

Millions of people participate in property transactions every year in the UK. In most cases, it’s a stressful and unpleasant process held up by outdated, admin-heavy and labour-intensive processes. We are changing this experience forever using data, powerful digital technology, and an innovative business model.

With offices in London and Kiev, we are a young, fast-growing, well-funded start-up ready to reshape the property industry to better reflect the consumer demands of the 21st Century.

So, that’s what we do, and here’s who we are…

We are obsessive simplifiers: we go into great detail to find ways to deliver a simple experience for our home movers. We relentlessly seek out ways of making it easier to get over the home purchase finishing line.

We are strong believers in what we do: we are excited about having an opportunity to fix one of the most stressful experiences in a consumer’s life, as well as help people complete their most crucial acquisition free of any stress.

Our values reflect our journey and our ways of working…

Entrepreneurship: we are dreamers and hard workers. We have to be - building a startup to fix one of life’s most stressful events requires hard work, stamina, responsibility of ownership, and persistence.

Transparency: transparency is at the core of our products and we believe that this will make the process more efficient for everybody. We have a strong dislike for opaqueness and complexity and prefer to keep things simple and transparent.

Collaboration: we believe in collaboration and teamwork. Property transactions are a collaborative effort between all key stakeholders and so is our approach to improving it.

We’re in a period of explosive growth and now have an exciting opportunity available for a Lead Product Designer, to take responsibility for design across the company. You will be focusing on the UX and UI of our market-disrupting products, along with leading the design team and managing and coaching junior members of the team.

What will you be doing, day-to-day?

  • Participate in UX/UI lifecycle: conducting research, translating research insights into ideas, and finally designing the workflows and complex interactions to bring the products to life
  • Work with the product team to identify opportunities for product improvements and to understand priorities and product requirements
  • Sketch and prototype ideas to quickly identify viability, then create the detailed level designs to be turned into product changes
  • Work with the engineering team to ensure that designs are technically achievable, and that the final product meets your requirements
  • Make sure that designs are consistent across our suite of products
  • Own the company's design system
  • Mentor junior designers
  • Work with marketing to help define our visual communication

What skills, experience and qualifications do you need?

  • 3+ years of experience working in UX or UI design on a digital product
  • Experience with B2B and B2C products
  • Appreciation of the product development process, from problem-solving through to detailed UI
  • Fluency with visual and interaction design tools such as Sketch, InVision
  • Excellent communication of design work supported by an understanding of business needs
  • Degree in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), HCI, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Competency with HTML/CSS and ability to work within a highly technical environment, as well as good understanding of technical requirements and limitations
  • Experience with designing marketplace and/or SaaS products, or;
  • Design experience gained in an agency environment
  • Experience in/with tech startups
  • Ability to collaborate proactively with different teams across the company
  • Specific experience of property marketplaces would be highly beneficial, but is not essential

What do we offer?

As well as competitive salaries, we offer our people a range of flexible working options, a challenging, supportive and (in normal times!) social environment, generous share options and constant personal development. If you’re ambitious, driven and highly analytical, data obsessed and allergic to the word ‘no’, come and join us on our mission to change the property market for good.

All our roles are currently remote, and there’s the option to continue with this in the mix, but we are usually based at our office in Westminster.
