The Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Staff Software Engineer to join the Engineering team at Feedonomics, headquartered in Los Angeles. In this role you will take primary responsibility for critical subsystems for our powerful eCommerce SaaS Platforms, working alongside a motivated and vibrant team of Engineers. 

The Responsibilities

  • Drive our technical roadmap, direction of our stack, and execute on key strategic initiatives that are most impactful to the business
  • Use your technical expertise to oversee and implement feature development of the critical subsystems that support our SaaS platforms
  • Design, Architect, and execute the building of services for the Feedonomics platforms
  • Influence and inspire quality software engineering principles in our PHP, Angular, SQL, andJavascript-based products
  • Identify and scale existing systems to be highly available and performant under high load.
  • Collaborate with entire teams to deliver code that is performant, fault-tolerant, maintainable, testable, and concise
  • Encourage innovation and foster an environment of continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and leads from other internal and external systems to deliver holistic solutions to our clients 
  • Foster a culture that is open, positive, energized and innovative
  • Work directly with Product Managers in shaping and prioritizing requirements that will lead to the most successful business outcomes

The Requirements

  • B.S minimum in Computer Science or related degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in building systems using at least two different languages:PHP (preferred),Go, Java, Python, Node, etc. 
  • 4+ years managing, driving and retaining a high-performance team. 
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, distributed queuing systems, and external services integrations over APIs (REST/SOAP)
  • Experienced in developing high performance, scalable, highly available services and applications
  • Desire to work in a collaborative, open environment on an Agile team as a contributor and/or mentor
  • Highly proactive and results-oriented with excellent critical thinking skills
  • Experience with ecommerce, distributed queuing systems, SaaS platforms
  • Nice to Have: DevOps experience, and/or Docker or other containerization technologies

Ascent is looking for a highly motivated, results orientated Senior Backend Developer. As a member of the Development Team you will play an active role in the development and maintenance of Windows subsystem software of an automotive recording and calibration embedded device.

The Windows Embedded code is mainly written in C#, but some modules are implemented in modern C++ (C++11), and the solution makes extensive use of COM.  As the core software component automates most of the device processes by Windows API, candidates should be able to understand the low-level mechanisms of the operating system.  Good familiarity with scripting (batch, PowerShell) would be considered an asset, as would familiarity with Linux OS scripting since part of the device functionalities are implemented in a real-time Linux subsystem. 

Responsibility

Quality is of utmost importance and whilst there are a number of QA Engineers in the team, all the developers on the team are expected to have a good understanding of testing methodologies, and shall also contribute to code reviews, static analyser reports and documentation describing the details of their implementations including specific architectural areas.

  • Work with Customer and/or Partner teams to guide and/or implement the integration.
