Main requirements:

  •  8+ years of experience developing performant, scalable, web-based applications, preferably in a SaaS environment.
  • You have a deep understanding of object-oriented or functional programming design paradigms.
  • You have extensive development experience and have proficiency in a modern programming language (preferably Ruby on Rails, Typescript/Javascript with NodeJS and ReactJS or/and Adobe Flex/ActionScript). 
  • You haveexperience using SQL databases, document databases (such as MongoDB), ElasticSearch, and/or Redis. 
  •  You have a deep understanding of AWS cloud infrastructure as well as continuous deployment and integration patterns.
  • You have strong practical experience building RESTful microservices, event-based distributed systems.
  •  You are goal-oriented, self-motivated, and able to be successful in a schedule-driven, fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • You are comfortable leading and/or managing teams of remote developers.
  • You have delivered and supported commercial, enterprise software.
  • You're a tinkerer at heart with an innate ability to solve tough programming problems.
  •  You possess excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
  •  BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related technical discipline or commensurate experience.

The .NET Developer Role

We have multiple roles available within our Platform team that looks after the data processing and client facing products and are looking for lead, senior and mid-level developers, either back-end or full stack.

You will be working to advance our microservice based platform that takes in data from numerous inbound data integrations, processes it based on specific workflows and then distributes it out to the car manufacturers. The Platform is complex and incorporates many systems such as our contact centre systems, machine learning based data qualification processes and then control interfaces built using React and Vue.

The focus for backend work is .Net Core (C#) with a range of data technologies such as Eventstore, ElasticSearch and SQL Server.

You will be a key part of the product team and involved at all stages of the development lifecycle, giving you a chance to influence the technology we produce. Whilst working remotely, collaboration is key and you’ll work closely with both your immediate team and wider internal stakeholders.

In addition to your developer role, you will also be responsible for the following:

  • Evangelising an agile, continuous self-development and automation first mindset
  • Researching new technology and approaches
  • Contributing to team process, technical approach, and development standards
  • Being a part of our development community and help drive it

The Skill Profile

Responsibilities
 

  • Create or use existing tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ffmepg to measure, monitor and improve software performance and reliability. * Design and implement deployment automation software using Kubernetes and Ansible. * Manage and improve Client’s global and heterogeneous deployment environment, from bare metal to Kubernetes environments, to ensure high quality video services. * Improvenet CI/CD software to help the Livepeer engineering team deploy fearlessly. * Contributing to Client’s open source ecosystem by providing open source automation tools that help 3rd party infrastructure operators.

Requirements
 

  • Deep understanding of video live streaming and video on demand workflows, including ingest, transcoding, delivery, and playback. * Extensive experience working with automation tools like Kubernetes, Helm, and Ansible. * Extensive experience in building systems at large scale, managing hundreds of compute instances. * Extensive working knowledge of video open source tools like ffmpeg. * Is able to think adversarially and design systems with the expectation that actors will try to cheat and bypass rules. * Is comfortable with the foundational concepts of public blockchains such as Ethereum. * Like working on a distributed team, collaborating with others through synchronous and asynchronous communication. * Comfortable programming in Go and JavaScript.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, benchmark, and improve the performance of core video transcoding software.
  • Build and maintain software integrations to support hardware encoders/decoders such as Nvidia NVENC/NVDEC, AMD VCN/VCE and Intel QuickSync.
  • Analyze the computational workloads of current and potential future infrastructure providers on the network to support them in fully utilizing their hardware for transcoding and potentially other computational workloads (i.e. cryptocurrency mining).

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of video transcoding.
  • Extensive experience working with low level video processing software like the ffmpeg library suite and video codecs such as h264.
  • Familiarity with at least one family of hardware encoders/decoders (i.e. Nvidia NVENC/NVDEC, AMD VCN/VCE, Intel QuickSync).
  • Entry level technical understanding the foundational concepts of public blockchains such as Ethereum.
  • Likes working on a distributed team and collaborating with others through synchronous and asynchronous communication.
  • Comfortable programming in C and Go.
