POSITION SUMMARY
The ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (AA) will be responsible on an as-needed, part-time basis, for copying, printing and organizing materials; producing notebooks and putting together briefing materials for calls and meetings; and assisting with other administrative tasks in support of the organization’s Executive Director. This position requires someone who has tremendous organizational skills, initiative, and attention to detail. This position is for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment; enjoys taking care of things the right way the first time; and who figures out how to get most tasks done, but asks smart questions when there is a need for guidance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Principal duties of the role include printing, copying, organizing materials and emails and delivering them to the Executive Director when she is at her home office in the DC metropolitan area.
- Provide administrative support to the ED for as needed meeting materials and presentations.
- Conduct research in preparation for calls and meetings and organize materials in flies and notebooks; and
- Take notes of calls and meetings as may be needed.
OTHER DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Order supplies
- Proofread/copy edit documents
- Other clerical, administrative, technical & office support duties as assigned
Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- 1-2 years of administrative support experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
- Ability to execute efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Well organized and highly attentive to detail on a narrow set of tasks
- Able to self-direct day-to-day activities
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with remote staff
- Flexible and able to work under pressure and on deadline
- Ability to troubleshoot and maintain basic office equipment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel; Google Drive experience a plus
