What you’ll do: 

  • Set up and deploy the infrastructure and monitoring for emerging, long-running projects.
  • Design and develop the CI/CD systems developers use and the infrastructure for all current and future websites and services.
  • Diagnose and debug production incidents and then improve systems to prevent the problem from recurring.
  • Collaborate with SDEs and fellow SREs to ship, maintain and monitor new builds of our websites and services.
  • Occasionally assist with Thunderbird desktop CI/CD and releases.

  • Seasoned professional with 10+ years of work experience
  • Minimum 5 years professional experience in a tech infrastructure role, ideally in cloud-scale environments.

  • Ability to self-direct work, handle less structured environments, and communicate effectively with staff and community members in many different roles.

About this team and role:

The Role:

The Business Analytics & Insights is a newly created function that equips Mozilla with data-driven decision-making capabilities, ensuring strategies are grounded in factual insights. About this team and role:

Firefox’s Product Management team is looking for an experienced Senior Staff ML Product Manager to shape and lead our vision for delivering high-quality and relevant experiences to our users. In this role, you will drive the design and integration of new recommendation systems into high-visibility surfaces like the Firefox home page and work cross-functionally to identify and build features for existing products as well as define new product strategies.  

As a Senior Staff ML Product Manager for the Firefox New Tab team, you will contribute to shaping the vision for delivering more relevant and personalized content and experiences to our users in line with Mozilla values. Our objective is to power our product experiences with modern ML to delight our customers while establishing best practices for data stewardship and privacy on the internet.  You will have ownership of the recommender systems we deploy into production and our MLOps. You will work with a team of Applied ML Engineers with the support of Content, User Research, Analytics, Design, Platform and others. You’ll partner with PMs who own product surface experiences to ensure that they are building for ML-driven products. You’ll chart a path for Firefox to personalize our content recommendations and experiences in line with our values and mission, as well as our user growth and business priorities.

We are a fully remote organization. Your development team is mainly based in PST, but you do not have to be. We work in collaborative teams, using agile methodologies and have an interactive culture of experimentation and learning.

What you’ll do:

  • Use your strategic insights, ML knowledge and experience to create, maintain and evangelize the roadmap for your area.
  • Build a comprehensive understanding of user problems and guide our engineering team in prioritizing and developing principled ML solutions. 
  • Work with other PMs to define an exciting and industry-leading ML strategy.
  • Collaborate with other Product Managers and XFN team members to deliver your strategy.
  • Partner with product teams across the company to integrate ML models and experiences in other product surfaces.
  • Establish clear success metrics and measuring outcomes to track the effectiveness of your initiatives.

Program Management (40%)

  • Create and maintain an inventory of communication and community engagement initiatives underway across Mozilla Foundation, including key activities, outputs and impacts  
  • Lead planning, design and implementation of 5-7 flagship projects central to our effort to expand our reach among civil society organizations and grassroots supporters 
  • Document and disseminate collateral materials regarding each ‘flagship project’, including frequent updates

About the team and role:

Mozilla’s Sales team is responsible for driving a key area of growth and investment across several advertising surfaces within Firefox, Pocket, Mozilla Developer Network (MDN) and the newly-acquired Fakespot.   • Lead sales operations for all direct sales placements on Firefox, Pocket, MDN, Fakespot and potentially new surfaces as they are tested and scaled; help manage channel / partner placements
  • Manage yield optimization of our advertising inventory across products
  • Support resourcing roadmap for the global sales organization alongside sales leaders, People, Compensation, and Finance teams

About this team and role:

The Mozilla Builders 2.0 program is a point of entry for startups, projects, and people that want to collaborate with Mozilla towards a shared vision of the future. Currently we are focused on collaborating to build best in class open-source AI projects and nurturing a community of developers that share Mozilla’s mission to build a healthier internet and enrich people’s lives.

For 2024, we will be launching a cohort-based program that provides funding for open-source maintainers and founders. During the program, participants explore curriculum to build and scale open-source projects, build healthy communities, design business models, and secure funding.

The Program Manager (PM) is the operational backbone of the Builders team. The PM’s focus is on program operations and execution to deliver the best possible program experience for founders, mentors, partners, and other stakeholders. This includes event management, using tools/developing processes to manage program data, building and scheduling the 3-month programming calendar, execution of Demo Day, and developing the Builders playbook. The Program Manager is also responsible for collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to support their goals within the program.

The PM will have oversight of the Mozilla application process logistics and the management of the program. In addition, this role will maintain strong bonds with developers and startups, acting as a resource and looking out for relevant opportunities to support their success.

What you'll do:
  • Work with the team to develop the program plan and own the overall responsibility for the successful execution of programs and developing content and curriculum of the Mozilla playbook
  • Deliver the best possible program experience to founders, mentors, partners, investors and other stakeholders as measured by NPS and project performance
  • Manage the logistics for the program calendar, including applications, selections, onboarding, mentor schedules, meetups, demo day and ensure the participants, mentors, speakers, partners, and investors are fully informed about all program facing activities
  • Implement network events/programs to support founders and alumni both during program and outside of program
  • Develop relationships across Mozilla that can support our participants, communicate and collaborate with internal and external partners to get work done timely and efficiently
  • As time permits, and as experience grows, work with Director and Engineers to source and evaluate potential investments related to the program themes, including market research, competitive analysis, investment memo development.
  • Support the development of a strong pipeline of startups with diverse and underrepresented founders
  • Measure and track program progress, cultivate and share best practices, and report insights from the program.

Required Experience / Knowledge + Skills

For us, this means especially two things: human agency is a core part of how AI is built and coordinated, and corporate accountability is real and implemented.

Mozilla’s Office of the President and Executive Director have two functions: pointing the Foundation’s movement-building programs at the challenge of crafting trustworthy AI by leading all aspects of the design, growth and impact of Mozilla's philanthropy and advocacy programs, as well as DEIB and gift planning; and on expanding the Mozilla portfolio with an intentional effort totee Mozilla up to have more impact over the next 25 years.

We are seeking a new Program Manager to join the Pan Mozilla team working on the AI 360 workstream. In this role, you will develop effective project and program management systems for AI 360, a crosscutting program that acts as the connective tissue among all the AI activities happening across Mozilla Foundation, Mozilla Corporation, Mozilla Ventures and Mozilla AI. AI 360 aims to also explain this set of activities to the world, make links between them and measure their collective impact and progress over time. As part of this mandate, you will help lead events and programs intended to engage leaders in the open source and Trustworthy AI community including startups, non profit labs, civil society, academia and tech partners.Reporting to the hiring manager, you will work closely with other program managers leading Pan Mozilla workstreams. Specifically, you will provide strategic support to the Senior Advisor to the President and Lead of AI 360 in running the AI360 workstream.

Program Management 

  • Collaborate with the AI 360 team to develop the 2024 Pan Mozilla AI Program plan outlining activities designed to increase collaboration and improve messaging 
  • Lead planning, systems design, and implementing team processes related to AI360
  • Coordinate activities across AI360 activities to ensure strategic alignment with team and organizational priorities
  • Lead, develop and be responsible for the bottom up rollup of AI work across Mozilla, as well as budget and KPIs for the project
  • Handle the AI inventory and help create connections among various teams working on AI. Visualize these and disseminate updates to the larger org
  • Help draft metrics framework that collects progress and impact of both Pan Mozilla AI activities and AI related products, programs and services within portfolio companies. Work with leadership to develop and coordinate program budgets that align with strategic objectives and team goals
  • Collaborate with other Program Managers and the Chief of Staff to develop and implement strategies and systems for how we apply data and metrics to evaluate the impact of our programs

Project Management 

  • Coordinate and supervise key projects with the AI 360 team
  • Assist various teams in creating regular updates and tracking impact of their AI work with minimal overhead

Your Professional Profile:

  • Experience with budget development and oversight
