Job Description
For our team in Erlangen (Germany), we are searching for a (Senior) Customer Product Development Generalist (CPD). This is a challenging role in a very fast, highly competitive changing business and within a high-performing sales team.
As a (Senior) Customer Product Development Generalist, you play a key role in elevating our customers’ brand by leading the development of creative, innovative branding solutions. You will lead the product development process by defining new program requirements in collaboration with the sales teams, from point of initiation to customer approval.
Activities may include, but are not limited to the following:
- partner with colleagues as the product line expert within a territory, demonstrating comprehensive technical knowledge for Heat Transfers, Woven/PFL, and specialty product lines.
- support the Commercial team on complex product opportunities to drive key initiatives and achieve sales objectives for assigned accounts.
- effectively manage the product development process from customer briefing to artwork development, costing/pricing, sampling, and final approval.
- guide our customers to the greatest value solution for their branding needs by gathering product specifications for new programs, redesigning of existing programs, and re-engineering options to meet target prices.
- collaborate closely with the product line management team on a new product innovation pipeline.
- coordinate with the product development team and variable data end-to-end specialists to deploy new items to production.
- prepare global price proposals using established tools and guidelines and escalate price approval in competitive situations.
- participate in store audits, customer meetings, and calls, create the selling narrative, and resolve product-related global deployment issues, as needed.
Qualifications
- You have a passion for products, and trends, as well as for possibilities and development
- You have experience in new product development; knowledge of the retail, apparel, or label industries can be an advantage
- You have a technical knowledge of printing, weaving, heat transfer, and manufacturing strongly preferred.
- You have the ability to establish and maintain strong customer relationships.
- You are able to handle a number of key tasks at the same time and prioritize your work on your own
- You have an energetic, dedicated, and enthusiastic work approach combined with strong self-management to meet deadlines and do what it takes to get the job done
- You have excellent communication and presentation skills in English both spoken and written;
- You have a strong cultural empathy and are a team player with a relationship-building attitude to operate in a complex multinational organization
- You have good PC skills (including the use of Word, Excel, ERP, pricing tools, product/customer databases)
