Position Overview:
Praetorian is seeking a seasoned Bookkeeper with a successful track record in accounting in a high growth company setting. This position is instrumental and the activities that you will own have extreme impact on the overall success of the company. Reporting to the Controller, your job is to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations and help maintain the financial health of the company. Core Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable – own all external communications, maintain W-9 data and file annual 1099s. Manage payments via credit card, relay and ACH. Book journal entries in QBO and reconcile all cash daily and cards monthly.
- Accounts Receivable – weekly invoicing of clients for services and product revenue streams and associated QBO journal entries. Collection of past due balances.
- Perform monthly and year-end reconciliations.
- Perform monthly tuition and fundraising reconciliations
- Manage member accounts and preparation/mailing of account statements on predetermined basis.
- Update QBO including ensuring accurate billing, charge type, payment gateway information, etc.
Desired Qualifications:
- Five or more years of bookkeeping experience
- Previous experience in accounting and QuickBooks Online or related programs
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping practices and procedures
- Accuracy and attention to detail is absolutely required, as well as a track record of reliability, confidentiality, and conscientious work habits
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Ability to organize and prioritize effectively
- Attention to detail with exceptional level of accuracy
- Ability to interpret data and make cost effective decisions
- Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a rapidly changing dynamic environment with deadline pressures
- Demonstrated ability in dealing directly with customers and vendors
