Job Description
As our new Business Development Director, you will collaborate with other senior colleagues in the commercial and delivery teams.
You’ll have the crucial role of giving your strategic thinking to identify, tailor and progress opportunities in the utilities sector.
The role will be part of a successful, growing team focused on enterprise opportunities. The team is made up of several salespeople, who generate new opportunities and/or lead on responses to large data technology programmes.
Qualifications
Responsibilities:
- You will lead high-value opportunities (sales worth millions of pounds) developed through our Commercial team and through our strategic technology partnerships (Microsoft, AWS, Red Hat, Snowflake and OutSystems).
- You will be the focal point on delivering and advising on complex deals, ensuring to successfully collaborate with all parties to meet goals.
- Engage and articulate case studies and customer stories to our clients to convey a true value proposition.
- Lead the full sales lifecycle, from selecting the right solution for customers, competitive pricing and giving bid perspectives.
- Build cross departmental relationships and maintain relationships with external partners.
- You will oversee sales data and documentation and evaluate performance for the whole sales process.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience working in IT services and technology solutions or similar organisations.
- Have practical experience selling to utility sectors such as energy (including renewable), electricity, natural gas, water supply or similar.
- Be able to showcase your communication and interpersonal skills and your ability to engage with all levels of an organisation internally and externally.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and customer databases such as Salesforce or similar.
- Showcase your commercial acumen and influencing skills whilst maintaining positive rapport.
