Job Description
The Lead Technical Project Manager is responsible for leading teams to deliver complex technology projects that span across multiple business units and often have company-wide impact. This role involves managing resources, schedules, financials, and adhering to quality control guidelines. This also includes management of issues, risks, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives
- Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence
- Develop and manage estimates, detailed project plans, reports, budgets, schedules, forecasts, timelines status updates, and presentations for all phases of the project including project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues communicating across leadership
- Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization
- Promote empowerment of the team, ensure that each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution, and encourage a sustainable pace with high levels of quality for the team

- Organize and lead project status and working meetings
- Manage changes, risks, actions, issues, and decisions and correct deviations from plan
- Hold teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work
- Leverage organizational resources to improve capacity for project work
- Support Product Owners in managing customer expectations for project deliverables
- Manage stakeholder communications and help to implement an effective system of project governance
- Champion ongoing process improvement initiatives
- Identify resource needs for the project and source these resources
- Deliver the project accurately and in accordance with contract terms
- Maintain project documentation including documented project approvals, meeting minutes, etc.
- Plan for and monitor project expenditures to ensure they are in line with the budget
- Know and use all key customer resolution tools across all service groups to facilitate rapid resolution of customer concerns
- Maintain strict confidentiality
- Be mobile and travel to client locations as needed
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field or equivalent business experience
- A minimum of 5 years of project management experience, including tracking and planning projects.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working with business and IT stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.
- Experience in successfully leading projects and programs to on-time, on-schedule, and within budget close.
- Experience leading, motivating, and managing various project and program team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding team accountable for performance.
- Technological background with understanding and/or hands-on technological experience.
- High level of agility and ability manage change
- Ability to work proactively and constructively in a fast-paced, collaborative, matrixed team environment
- Communication skills; high level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organizations
- Presentation skills; high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences
Preferred qualifications
- PMP or similar certification
- Experience with Agile techniques: User Stories, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing
- Knowledge of other Agile approaches, like Kanban, and familiarity with traditional project management approaches
