Meet The Team:
The Director of Program Management is responsible for managing programs across departments at Torc to ensure successful delivery of program objectives. This role requires frequent engagement with stakeholders in various departments to align on the work and resolve or drive resolution of issues and risks. The role requires a high degree of skilled stakeholder engagement with all levels of the organization up to and including communication with the C-Suite. This person should be a self-starter, curious, creative, solution-oriented, unafraid of ambiguity and able to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization to solve problems and drive clarity, learn and adapt from failure, and be motivated to tackle new topics and challenges.
What You’ll Do:
- Defines program within area of responsibility including program objectives/milestones, stakeholders, methods of working, and key measures of success. Owns success of the program based on program definition.
- Analyzes product milestones and ensures cross-functional work is planned and once approved is executed to meet objectives.
- Identifies dependencies and drives dependency management between Engineering and other Torc departments to enable successful completion of program objectives to deliver against the product roadmap.
- Identifies gaps in the program and ensures resolution.
- Develops and drives mitigations and contingency plans for gaps, risks, and issues affecting program success.
- Identifies and supports development of standards and processes to enable successful completion of programs.
- Monitors progress against program objectives, communicating issues, risks, and mitigation plans with stakeholders.
- Defines and reports on metrics to communicate program status and issues including the creation of dashboards.
- Ensures clear understanding of dependencies between and across organizations at Torc.
- Engages all appropriate stakeholders to ensure all departments are focused on the highest priority business needs.
- Guide the program management team to set, track, and achieve goals aligned with corporate, team, and program objectives.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, guidelines, and management principles.
- Ensure continuous team goal setting, career pathing and professional development, tracking competencies, employee team building and training, performance management, work prioritization, resource management and controlling expenses, and reinforces systems, policies, and procedures. Trains staff, maintains training records, ensures appropriate and continuous training. Proactive change and conflict management in support of Torc’s core values.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Experience directing an operational department or broad functional area that impacts the entire organization, including global counterparts.
- Experience developing business plans and operational priorities to meet goals and objectives of the organization.
- Ability to be a strategic partner to the organization and identify & plan how to meet future needs of the organization on a global scale.
- Demonstrated leader of functional area or department. Acts as an advisor to leaders on relevant trends and emerging issues on a global scale. Ability to effectively manage a team of managers and professionals and identify opportunities to grow and develop the team.
- Experience standing up and implementing c-suite level strategic initiatives.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and management of high-performing teams.
- Proven experience of embracing and initiating change. Distinguishing what to preserve and what to change. Identifying and leading the changes that drive success.
- Expert‐level knowledge of project and change management, methodologies, techniques, and processes.
- Active participation in annual and multi-year strategic planning.
Bonus Points:
- PMP Certification (Additional methodology certifications welcome – Scrum and Agile).
- Experience in the autonomous or automotive industry.
